Is it just for pc then? Because PS5 looks like it has some version of Ray tracing, the light reflections on the floors look amazing

It takes a lot of work to make prebaked reflections, so they just let RTX do the lifting.

@@CenaDK Yeah. Most of us have wooden floors or at least have seen light bouncing off on a wooden floor and this shimmering is not at all like how wooden surfaces reflect lights.

@@wanted3753Uh, I give you my config : Z690 - 14700K - 64Go DDR5 5600 - 3090Ti - Platinum 1200W PSU. And in 4K, without DLSS, and RTX OFF : 60/75fps. Activate RTX drop to 40/45fps…. I think that gen 5XXX will be 4K/Ultra/RTON properly capable. 😂

@@wanted3753 A 4070 + 5600X3D + 1080P is 74fps RT on native no dlss, DLAA all on ULTRA. very smooth. But turn RT off and you get 130fps to 200fps

@@TacticalFatherGaming depends on games some modern ones such as Hogwarts consume 8+ VRAM on ultra + RT Nvidia gimped their cards Vram so you guys upgrade more often /:

It feels like Ray Tracing on UE4 is simply not worth it. They patched RT on the game making the whole game bloated as hell. The mirror part is actually even worse, I have never seen such a bad ray tracing. It is a game where even if I can play with Ray Tracing I will only use RT shadow and call it a day.

@@randomguy_069 yes, thats the only effect which is implemented relatively nicely there. Question is the performance hit. It seems RT hits unreasonably hard in this game. Most likely the implementation is bad even on the performance level, not only visual. And the best RT effect is not even present here - Global Ilumination - the effect which really makes RT worth it and improves visuals drastically. MIA. Anyway, this game is in atrocious state on PC.. its a shame. They will rake in bilions, but they cant be arsed to even pretend to care about the product. They just needed the console money FAST!!! So PC was released "as it is" and in one year, it might get in a good state. Thats the new AAA normal - think Cyberpunk, Dying Light 2, Hogwards, Witcher 3 NG, and many others I believe. Calypso.. it goes on..

I just noticed that you can can actually improve the quality of RT by modifying some config settings.

I must be doing something wrong. Mine 3090 with the same settings you have gives about 80 fps
