For some reason the game stopped Sebastion storyline after shadow of the relic, do you have to learn the curses in order to progress? I'm level 37 and at the end of the game, theres no other quests besides the final one and I still haven't gotten any kind of prompt to move on to the next mission from sebastion.
Honestly the dialogue choice where you support Sebastian right after leaving the catacomb and say he did the right thing makes me crack up. It's just so... enabling and manipulative. "You were BRAVE Sebastian! I would have done the same..... if only I knew how....." Gave such 'Idc what happens to you, just teach me your Dark Magic spells" vibes. Made me laugh when convincing Ominis to help you get into the Scriptorium too-- the emotional manipulation your character just whips out is impressive. Very fitting if done by a Slytherin or Ravenclaw MC too
I wish they had some type of buddy system so you could take one or two of your Hogwarts friends with you on missions so it won't feel so lonely out there in the world. It would be great taking Sebastian out on missions with you, or both him and Ominus. I get a feeling that despite being blind, Ominus is more than able to defend himself.
It was actually in the game files but it was cut 😢 The Slytherin quidditch player, Gareth from Gryffindor, Ominis, Samantha Dale and Clopton were people you should bring out, in addition to Seb, Natti, Poppy and Amit
Haha same here, he sended me the owls exactly in the moment I landed in front of him with my hippogryffin to do his main quest. Then he is like "oh no I am waiting there come over" and here I go chasing him for his forbidden spells 😂
Not saying the uncle deserved to receive an AK to the chest, but what was he thinking destroying the relic when there were inferi surrounding Sebastian and your character? Then, rather than help you fight them, he decides to attack you, lmao. I must've Crucio'd him like 3 times to get him to stop so I could deal with the CORPSES TRYING TO RIP ME APART. 😂
No cuz he really pissed me off. If he were a better guardian and actually talked to Sebastian instead of treating him like a pest (or even help to find a cure) maybe he could've avoided this.
And imagine even after not selling him out or anything, Sebastian becomes a mute at postgame and won't talk to you ever again. Even Ominis blabbers to you everytime he passes you by chit chatting about trolls or the scriptorium to even bad-mouthing other characters like Duncan, Lucan and Imelda.
Can’t stand these self righteous players who gleefully betray Seb after they’ve spent hours killing goblins and Ashwinders. Sebastian was in the wrong but he regrets his actions and is an amazing character. Glad these people are a tiny minority. His Uncle was borderline abusive.
tbf, I have a sister too and if my uncle just destroyed the only thing that could have saved her life, I would have murdered him on the spot as well with my bare hands. Easy to understand Sebastian if you have siblings.
I’m the youngest in my family. But If someone did something like that to any of my siblings, I would make sure to make their life miserable. So I also understand this too.
Whoever is stuck and doesn't have the questline "In the shadow of" Go into your owl post and open the letters from Sebastian that should give you the initial quest.
No joke- I am 27 and somehow haven't gotten the invite for Shadow of Discovery. I only have the single Crucio spell. I have just a single step left in the main quest for the 4th speaker- so really concerned I broke something. Check owl often, maybe I'll head to undercroft JIC hes there chilling. I feel like this is the most convoluted quest sadly- when the anticipation for it was huge.

@@Wikkid124 I found that I hadnt progressed the story far enough. I was thinking that I didnt want to get the abilities so late and not be able to use them.
People need to be patient. Sometimes you gotta accomplish side or main quests for dark spell quests to show up. This depends on a lot of things so impossible to tell when but soon. It’s not possible to go learn dark spells path only and one spell immediately after another.
Tbh the game felt lonely after I finished the Sebastian quest, I wish I could do all the quests with him, because he’s the only real friend, you actually make in the game
Sebastian isn't a bad guy, but right now I have a feeling he will become one, he's broken, betrayed, yea he shouldn't kill that guy, but he could at least give him a chace, if it wont work, we are a main character so the power of plot armor is strong enough XD
If Sebastian happens to be in the sequel this is how I think would play out: If you turn him in he will become a Death Eater, isolated in Azkaban and tortured would been enough If you don't turn him in he probably would redeem himself with MC and Ominis help, at the end of the game he states that he would spend every day trying to be better. I hope he follows up on that

@@sharingan761 I dont completely understand ur comment. Imma try to guess what youre saying. It depends on if you do the quests before or after you finish the game. If I were you, I’d finish the necessary quests first. Then at the end Im sure the paths will align on what you should do. Sorry if that didnt help.
Can't say who is the bigger sociopath / psychopath in this questline - Solomon - for losing control and lashing out in an uncontrollable destructive rage on his nephew Sebastian - for seeking out forbidden relics, constantly breaking rules, not understanding the consequences of his actions and believing that sweet talk & denial will let him get away with anything The MC - for enabling Sebastian's recklessness, shutting down Ominis and Anne when they are clearly the sane ones here and clearly see the futility of Sebastian's quest - all so that they can learn torture, brainwash and murder spells I would pick Natty / Poppy over Sebastian any day.
I don’t like characters either black or white morally of course I think Sebastian is more authentic than the other two who I can connect with since i only had one family member and I would do anything to make sure I don’t lose that one person too
What missions do I need to complete to get in the shadow of time? I did in the shadow of discovery and I am level 18. I did Rookwoods trial and still no mail.
Sebastian’s quest availability is a bit unique. If you haven’t heard from him after a day or two then you have to do more of the main story. His final dialogue is only available after the main story
How long does it take before he sends another owl post? I just finished seeing him argue with Ominis (In the Shadow of the bloodline) I’m just waiting for him to send me another owl post buts it’s been forever lol
just a side note i was trying to enter the stairwell after destroying rocks and i couldnt enter the crouch animation untill i loaded my last gamesave (ps5)
None of the guides are telling us how far along we need to be like specifically what exact quest we need to pass to get the next quest from Sebastian. That’s why!!!
@@cmdrdredd you don’t really need to know that. Like after finishing a required main quest almost instantly he will contact you by owl or your quest log will include another one of his quests. Trust me, you won’t miss a single quest of his the game seems to favor him over the others
Out of curiosity. I'm trying to do a good wizard playthrough right now and planning to do a dark wizard play through some other time. Does refusing to learn the dark arts stop Sebastian quest from progressing further?
From what I understand from watching one of the playthroughs that has no commentaries, you can simply pick the response that allows you to learn the spells, like from what we saw here. It is odd since I thought this is a moral sort of game, but all though out the player can play Sebastian against Ominis and still end up with this eventual outcome as long as the player has the right level. The only thing I do know is that if you use the three spells in combat without affecting you anyway when you are alone except if you use any of the spells when have a companion with you in a side quest.
@@megajf1634 nah. I'll save that for my dark wizard playthrough. Right now I'm playing as a friendly helpful wizard for my first playthrough. He wouldn't vs the kind of person to learn those spells. The character in my second playthrough though...

currently waiting on in the shadow of friendship to pop up 🥴. Poppy and natsai took a bit to get a owl message but this one isnt showing up no matter how many times I wait 🙃
After the end bit In the Shadow of Fate my quest bugs out instead of where you got that cut-scene it just sends me back down there to speak to him again but I cant, I've reloaded the save and rebooted the game but its still stuck any ideas?
I hated his Uncle, wish I could’ve offed him myself. And for everyone against Sebastian, how many goblins and people did you kill horribly? I honestly DON’T like Sebastian as a person at all but he’s a great character. And while I don’t agree with him entirely and he definitely went too far, it’d be hypocritical and pointless to turn him in.

if you send him to prison, you cant get the spells. if you dont turn him in, he will be in the undercroft later and you can learn all the unforgiveables from him then. to get any of this you have to finish the final main story mission.
everytime Seb's quest pops up, I immediately do it. Got the AK quest 1 quest away from the final fight. too boring if i say. I should have played AK more earlier in the game.
When I played for the first time on the 7th, I had a little disappointment, Sebastian's face was changed, the nose and the freckles that did not exist, not to mention that there is nothing charismatic about him, Poppy manages to have much more charisma than him :/ um shot in the foot in my personal opinion!
Salazar Slytherin is pathetic. For all his snide claims of Muggleborn inferiority, it was *him,* the “greatest of the Hogwarts four” that fled from them. And he didn’t even have the stones to unleash his monster on them himself. No, he left it for a descendant who “shared his views” - and that descendant ended up being the least pure-blooded of all.
