You don't need to use the focus to form the chinese faction. You get an event where Chiang Kai-shek gets captured and if you spare him from being executed he'll form the faction. This way you're not the faction leader, but when you launch the civil war instead of kicking nationalist China out, you quit the faction. You'll be at wat with the nationalist and the southern warlords at the same time, but since they are already in a faction they don't join the allies.

Same for me, tried it 3 Times followed every step but i just got no Chance against Japan they send so much stuff to my border unlike in the Video (also i almost see no Naval Invasions) And with the new Supply System my Troops are permantly having Supply Issues. I can survive quite long but no chance off winnig cause with the Japanese attacks my Gun Production is in the red numbers, so i cant upgrade my Divisions

Supply is now a big problem...

China became weaker after NSB. I can make divisions for attack, but when I'm prepared, China looses its capital and I don't have enough divisions to defend everything that Japan captured. They can't even protect Beijing for a long. I pushed to Beijing and decided to rush Manchukuo , but China can't defend my back and I loose territories that I took. I played Kuomintang China (biggest) before for 3-4 times, and I realized that I won't attack right after the beginning of war. But defending worked, I had powers for counterattacking. Maybe it is possible with yellow China, but it's hard for the red one.

@@SlavicMapper Watch cloak71's videos and you'll think you have learnt nothing about this game because probably you have learnt nothing, I have 1.5k hours in the game and I still keep learning things. If you dont check that channel, you'll probably lose a lot of things :D

The event should be presented to the faction leader, but can but out and only got to the Nationalists. They *should* accept in any case, but as you can see....hit and miss. And yeah,you could keep fighting that war, but I really didn't feel like grappling with Japan any more at that point...

@@Bitt3rSteel i actually did these achievements today and used paratroopers to get a port in japan. Tbh i lost 30-35 paratroopers but manpower and soviet guns are infinite so no problemo

isnt hoi4 banned in china? at the beginning, pre waking the tiger update I think, Hong Kong used to only be a core of ROC and not a core of PRC, I think that is the main reason why HOI4 was banned in China

@098765 Craper to be the most strictly historically accurate, sinkiang (east turkistan) should only be a claim of China, while the ROC should at least have a claim on mongolia (the country), vladicostok should be a claim/core of the ROC as well, according to their own diplomatic stance.

@098765 Craper I doubt communist china cares much about the nazis winning or not, it sounds more like a western left/liberal rhetoric(or the rights like to claim). Youre right about the tibet core (or lack thereof) tho that would definitely trigger some chinese nationalistic sentiment

@@cm01 ik this is 2 months later, but doing it yourself will be alot more consistent :p Had it happen to me multiple times that the soviets just started to pour troops around the border and then could not attack due to them having no org Doing the strategy is actually really easy if you just follow the early steps. Just make sure to pin the troops and play as slow as you need it to be so you have success ^^ btw. don't try this on non historic as japan might decide to just not attack or even worse become communists themselfes

@@vinuvias yes a couple months later I'm convinced that joining the Comintern at that stage in the playthrough is a total waste especially considering the faction traitor debuff. It's plenty easy enough to annex those 3 guys by Feb 1937 without joining a faction.

When did you bring in trains and/or trucks? I find it impossible to manage without supply in NSB. What's your experience? Everythings seems to happen slower than this guide in NSB. I basically need help is what I'm saying.

Tried this recently after watching Taureor do it. Costs you zero troops and inherit Chinese army but you start vs Japan with little or no army xp.

Just a setting in the options menu. NATO icons check box

Not at all; if China remains at war with Japan because the peace event doesn't fire then they'll seek to join another faction. My workaround in my playthrough was when taking the decision to declare war on China, instead of kicking them from the faction, just wait until the decision kicks you and join the Comintern (assuming you've been improving relations with Russia). This makes the war against them harder, but it's still easier than China + the Allies since they'll be stuck in the faction you made & left them in.

Oh yeah, and you can still salvage the run if the peace treaty event doesn't fire: kick the Japanese out of the mainland manually, secure ports and proceed to kill China as usual. You'll leave the Chinese faction when you take the uprising decision, meaning none of the other Chinese factions can join the allies (as they will still be in it). Japan will still be in the war against China, so they will most likely take a province you need in the peace treaty, so you'll have to invade Japan later in order to capitulate them, but it shouldn't be hard after you've unified China. Build some shipyards and submarines and watch for gaps in Japanese naval supremacy. You'll be able to join the allies, too.

How do you hold the line against the japanese? I can't do it without losing at least a province, and the counter-attack is a failure. The units go as far as to straight up die to attrition.

@@jeejexplosivo You need to stick around supply hubs to avoid being crushed by attrition; that's especially true when you push into Manchuria as the northern half of that gap between Mengkukuo and Manchukuo have terrible supply. IIRC the Shanxi line also has bad supply. Build a railroad and a supply hub (take the decision to build them faster) if you can. Also, transport planes on supply mission are broken right now if you can keep them alive.

It could be that your multiple justifications make you raise WT more,meaning the AI will like you even less. But I'm not 100% sure. Pretty much the only reason I can think of

The AI always does this...I've managed by rearranging units, or just accepting the lost equipment. Once your front widens, you should be good

@@marlonb.7302 I’ve tried cheating and making Japan go communist to do it then after they’ve had a civil war but still nothing. It’s such a good video but unfortunately outdated, I really wish they would update it.

I am trying now for a few days, the only thing I got managed is to hold the border. You can solve the supply issues with air supply, cause building railways and trains + trucks takes too long. Main problem for me is getting divisions early which are able to breakthrough… still trying

@@trevorpettit8015 The last trys I build a hub and railways. This seems to work better in the longrun. For Mandschuko you definitely need air supply. Plus I really need to save China with garrisons at the harbours, downsite of this, there are so many troops stacked in the north, that I am not able to deafeat Japan on the mainland before 1941. Until now no peacedeal.... It is cursed :)

Wouldn't earlier Rectification Program (to save on PP) and Maoism be preferable to rushing Abolish Land Rent. Your war support is really high regardless and Maoism also gives +stabilty and that nice infantry eq. production bonus.

@@Suleei No. If Japan takes any of Nationalist China's starting territory, you will have to go to war against Japan to claim them and be in a peace conference.

well, it lacks the bite that 40w templates have on the offense or the defense that a 20w pure INF division has to hold the line. And its expensive due to the artillery required. It has no breakthrough or armour to limit org loss or casualties. as a result, you have a division that only succeeds in doing slightly more damage than pure INF at the cost of vast amounts of artillery (costing you a large chunk of you IC) and manpower. the upside is that its a simple division and that the AI is pretty terrible anyway
