Introducing the ROC-IT Plate Loaded product line from HOIST Fitness, featuring HOISTs patented Ride Oriented Xercise Technology-ROX®, the new movement in strength training.
ROX Technology mimics the bodys natural rocking movement during free weight and body weight exercises. Incorporating this natural motion frees the body from the static position encountered in most strength training machines and makes it part of the movement. The result-- a motion combining better form, less stress to joints and a greater range of natural motion for a more complete exercise to help your clients achieve their fitness goals. Where an movements range of motion allows, Selectorized machines let users exercise with overhand, underhand and neutral grips.
ROC-IT Plate Loaded machines feature unilateral, bilateral and reciprocating arm movements, where an exercises range of motion allows. And the contoured handles offer overhand, underhand and neutral grip positions.

No. It has a bad line of pull. 100x better to do lat pulldowns on a normal cable machine

Does my bodyweight counts when I am using Hoist machines?
@hoistfitness

Hi David, yes, it does. But it changes throughout the movement on most ROC-IT machines. Hope this helps!

Can’t you just use a set of adjustable dumbbells and a suspension trainer?

Is there a formula to calculate the actual resistance (real weight lifted) ?
@hoistfitness
@hoistfitness 6 лет назад
Hello, unfortunately there is not. ROC-IT technology utilizes the user's body weight and the user's height and other dimensions come into play as well. Additionally, the resistance varies throughout the movement by design. Sorry we cannot be more of a help here and we apologize for the late reply!

I am very interested as to whom your MD and/or Phd is who is in charge of the research and development of these "ROC-IT Plate AND Cable" machines. I am also interested in their background and level of experience that these individuals have in biomechanics, physiology and sports medicine and if they are maybe even athletes themselves or specialists? Are there any NCAA or professional athletes that indorse this type of system? Are there any NON-corporate professional or NCAA gyms with winning teams that use these? Please don't give me with the "24hr fitness endorses Olympians" thing. I don't know what other equipment you make, but after having to put up with this ridiculous gimmick of a system at my 24hr fitness for only a week, I couldn't care less what else you make. I am extremely unimpressed with your company and 24Hr fitness (I switched gyms) for giving you that contract over the many other far superior designs, but I don't expect much from a gym chain owned by an investment group and capitalism doesn't work like it should sometimes. When I go to do my compound HEAVY movements or especially my isolated accessory lifts, I want to set the angle in STONE. I prefer to be able to ADJUST the angle to whatever position I want with my base being my body or the bench supporting me and I want it to NEVER move. This gives me the force and contact to the ground that I need to get me that perfect lift that utilizes the most amount of musculature I can . Your machine takes the base and moves it back and forth like a child's toy. Your "ROC IT" system completely throws off every angle I try to use. I would even estimate the angle of the bench changes 10-20 degrees. Good lucky trying to isolate the muscle that you want. The base moves so much you lose a lot of the push/pull force making it easier. This being just so you can have a more "natural" movement? If I wanted to go do a "natural" pushdown... I would go to the free bars and JUST DO IT. Tell me these are not designed by a chiro/kinesio/PTr group who found a new gimmick to sell the already massive world of fitness garbage and the poor ignorant, casual, aged souls who buy them. I will also be investigating avenues to get this equipment removed from my local 24hr (Like they care) or just go back to LA Fitness where half of the machines are always broken and grimy, but I can still accomplish a satisfactory work out. On a more positive criticism the quality of your machines and the smoothness of motion is quite nice. The fit and finish is great and materials used on your machines I compliment you on, but the design is utter rubbish. If you take that ridiculous rocker out of your machines they would be right up there with other quality company's. I would love a response from your team and would be willing to give my consultation. Good luck to your company in its future in devours. ----- Nobody, who knows nothin'

Generally agree, however I think the lat pulldown one is class, interested to hear what your opinions on that one?

The lat pull down and the fly machine is actually very good. Depending on what your needs are, different free weight and machines gives you different feel and results. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages. I have a few of these in our local gym and after i tried them i say most of them do put a lot less stress on your back/spine than say hammer strength machines. i am a big fan of using Free weight but as the weights goes up so does the stress on your back/spine needed to stabilize your body position. You can argue the free weight actually requires more advance technique and these machines actually allow you to concentrate on the movement and mind muscle connection without worrying too much about stabilizing your whole body. i utilize free weigh, hammer strength and Roc-it depending on what i am trying to achieve on that particular day.

These things are awful. Your body's inertia in the forced rocking detracts significantly from your ability to isolate what you want to isolate. Also I don't *want* to be rocking back and forth when I'm trying to do leg extensions.

Still works effectively to build muscle on the back, so doesn’t matter
