Agree with the earlier comment re: nice to see you again! Year after year, Hoka must hear complaints about their narrow lasts. The SG5 has a wide option, and it is much better. Be nice if they managed the same with more models.

A 2E is pretty much mandatory in the Bondi 8. Once I went into a 2E, the fit was perfect!

Great review, as always! The Hoka lineup continues to confuse me… in so many ways it’s like the Clifton would be a better option for a “one and only shoe”. That said, I’ve enjoyed the Mach 4 as my road daily trainer! I’ll give the Bondi a shot if I catch them on sale. 😃

Out of curiosity, have you tried any of their wide lasts? I had the C7 and, apart from a couple times when I laced too tight, I didn't have too many issues with the width. It was narrow, but rarely excessive. I habe the c8 now and am not that happy. It took almost a 100k to break properly. I don't have too many issues atm, but I also haven't been able to run longer than 6-7k for a variety of reasons. I know you used to be an altra red runner, so I was curious how you may have gotten on with the wider lasts. As it stands, my next road shoe will be altra, like my trail shoes all are anyway. As far as i know Hoka still keep using a regular EVA foam in their shoes. Is it really can keep up with the newest foam technologies like zoomx, fresh foam and other manufactures?
