Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Clifton 9. I run with ASICS nb 4 but I also use the ASICS Nimbus 25 & NB 1080 v13. So I guess the latter 2 is out of the question for you 😁

Mach 6 are the best for daily trainers from Hoka. Saucony Triumph 21s are my fav and you can now find them for $100.

Hi Evelyn! What a pleasant surprise it is to find out that you love running. I've been a keen runner since I quit smoking 6 years ago. I don't like marathons, but I wish you luck on your second one. I'm 188cm tall, 101kg, quite a heavy runner. Can you believe that Usain Bolt is actually 93 kg? His weight (all muscles I guess unlike myself) doesn't prevent him from being the fastest. Anyway, my current shoes are Hoka Bondi 7. I bought them for the sake of max cushioning. I'm quite happy with them but these shoes are heavy and not for high speed. I've noticed that they are more durable than Asics, for instance. There's a thing that's bugging me a lot, the blisters on my toes. I've tried band aids, grease and 100% syntetic socks, but the blisters won't go away. How do you deal with them?

If you like the big sole look, give Brooks Ghost Max a try. It has a firmer midsole.

Hi Evelyn! Thank you very much! I had the Clifton 9 and I was shocked, too. A very slow shoe. It is hard to pick up the pace. I don`t know why I bought it because I usually run Brooks. I had the Brooks Hyperion, now the Brooks Defayance12 both are much faster and slimmer for me as a lightweight runner. I am looking out for the Brooks Hyperion TEMPO now. Maybe that is something for you, too. A lightweight and slim running girl as you does not need shoes for heavy men ;-)

I bought a nice leather pair of shoes in Ecuador for $30 dollars. The shoes you bought look like the cheaper shoes that you can buy for $20 on the street.

I think this type of shoes making this way that you have to change them quite often if you run a lot. so, it's really expensive. I mean, it because of that marshmallow thing for foot protection. it has some limit running I'm not sure in English it's proper words for this )

To my circle of acquaintances, saying "I'll be honest with all of you" sounds like I haven't told them the truth before. Maybe it's due to idiosyncrasy or a cultural quirk. Being a native Spanish speaker, it also makes me wonder if using that phrase to start a conversation has the same negative connotations in English. Another example is when in Mexico we usually use the phrase "Con todo respeto" (with all due respect) to give our opinion in a respectful manner, but in reality it is quite the opposite. We all know that those words are a prelude to being insulted. I apologize; I know this is not an English class, but when I read the video's title, that question came to my mind.

I totally can try to answer this. English is my first language. I think Americans say that because our culture is super "positivity obsessed" and people often lie for the sake of being polite. I think Americans do this more than many other cultures. In person, we are either passive aggressive or we do not say what we actually mean. I wouldn't say Americans are liars but they definitely often speak in half-truths when it comes to conversation in the workplace especially or in social settings. One big example I can think of is how Americans will say "how are you?" to each other without actually wanting to hear a long or genuine response. This is all my own opinion as someone who has grown up in America and speaks American English [as her native language]. THEREFORE, when we want to make sure someone understands something we are saying is honest, we say it explicitly. We say "I AM NOT LYING" LOL

@@scorpionic-night I appreciate your feedback. In other words, can I strike up a conversation with confidence by saying something like, "I won't lie to you," or "I will be honest with you" without coming across as untrustworthy??? Many foreigners have commented that Mexicans lack the ability to say "no," but this is essentially because we dislike being direct; it is considered impolite or rude.

May I make a constructive critique on this video for the sake of future ones? Wouldn’t it have been more attractive and useful to your subscribers if you had included in this post some of the great expressions you just taught? For example; “I’m not much of a professional runner” … “if you asked how good of a runner are you on a scale 1 to 10, I’d say I’m a 6 grade professional runner” etc., you decide. Thanks for the great job of yours.
