With Valentines Day just next week, make this fun and easy card by printing on your fabric. Rob Appell will walk you through the steps, even though he says he will not be responsible for any printer malfunctions, errors, explosions or curse words that may occur.

Thank you. This works well in my Canon Pixma. I experimented using color inks as well as the regular black ink. I found that the color (photo) inks seemed initially to work well and for a use like you did, putting it into a card, it would still work perfectly, but if it is on something that would need to be laundered (like using this to make my quilt labels) the color inks washed out. The regular back ink, however, stays on the fabric even after a wash & dry.

You could also try printing on the fabric using a cricut.

Thank you for this very timely tutorial. I have used Kate’s Appliqué Paper as the stabilizer (KAP is thinner, stronger, and acid-free, also really good for foundation paper piecing). Then I don’t have to put a pretty thick glue sheet through my printer. It is one more step to then do the Heat N’ Bond, but I don’t mind because I have had no jams on my HP, Canon, and Epson printers over the years. It would be nice if you did a review of Kate’s Appliqué Paper, it’s ‘a cut above’ ☺️. Paper designed especially for appliqué by Katherine Louden, San Francisco.
