What length are the strips

The small blocks that you have sewn together were 2 5/8 each. Allowing for the 1/4 inch seam, they add up to 5 1/4 and do not match up for the 4 3/4 block that is combined with them. Am I missing something here?

Rob, I enjoy your tutorials very much. Thank you. I heard another creator say the other day ( don't remember who) if your top seams are pressr away from from you and bottom block coming toward you the material will be pushed together and will help with everything matching up. Makes sense, I have not tried yet. Keep the videos coming and thanks for all the tips.

Not too long ago, I decided to look into quilting. I have made 3 I spy books for 3 little great granddaughters, they love them. SO, I started to branch out and try some of the easier quilt tutorials on You tube. Today, I happened upon one of your videos, and I have watched the 9 path, the log cabin, and the one with the purple and green strips and the pink in the middle, that made an awesome block. I do want to try that one. The reason I am writing this even though the videos were made three years ago, is because I bought a fabric cutter from Grace Company called a true cut cutter. The way you hold your cutting tool, I think you would love the true cut brand. It is made to be held the way you hold yours. After three years you may have found it also. If not you might want to check iit out. Love the things I have learned from you so far and I am going to search for some more current ones, Keep them coming.

A frequent viewer of your videos, regardless of the sponsor. This is my first michael miller fabric. I’ve found this tutorial interesting with the variations and the photos with sample arrangements. The quilt in the background is unique or new to me. The Juki sewing machine has bern retired or replaced? Curious about machines, pro and cons, not brands so much.

Hello from Plymouth England.. i have just found your channel. It is awsome!! I love it. Its a pity that you haven't done a dvd. It would be easier to refer back to it when needed. I have already learnt from you and look forward to watching and learning. Please keep the demos coming xx

ALL will choose their favorite of the 3 FG method you've shown and for that indiviual it will be the "most" accurate and the "most" easiest method for the quilter...LOL. for myself, I love the slotted multi-size ruler fly-geese template because I can easily make the wing/above the beak MORE than 1/4 inch above the geese consistently, along with the bottom corners AND because I can use real scrappy odd size pieces to cut triangles & wings, the slotted ruler is very efficient. ✅Make sure the wing bottom edge is totally in line on top of the geese bottom before u sew the side(s). After pressing using the slotted ruler, the trims are just slivers wasted.

Rob, I LOVE your desire to give thanks where thanks is due. It would be interesting to find out how far in history a one-patch was found turned around to make different pictures, i.e., a "kaleidoscope" as we know it :)

Has anyone actually tested the durability of HST s cut your way. You seem to find the bias edges a positive, but what is the downside of this reduced stability in the fabric.

I love the method you used to connect all the different size blocks. Sometimes I have different sizes and it's a puzzle how to connect them, especially when I don't want them to look all the same. Thank you for this video

No, no, no. Your second method yields hst units with all bias edges. Awful! If you're new to quilting do not do this second method. Get yourself a set of Clearly Perfect Slotted rulers and do it the correct way or you can use the bias line on your ruler to do the same thing if you don't want to buy another ruler.
