We read very negative comments but we had a mostly acceptable experience at this Holiday Inn Water Park Orlando Florida hotel. Got the Diamond Elite status just before we arrived which helped smoother immediate response from staff. The room was clean and the breakfast generous if you had free with your elite status. The swimming pool was clean and fun for little kids. Next door to Disney World Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs for Cirque du Soleil. I selected the top floor to keep noise levels lower but heard people in the elevator. Good hotel to use your Chase credit card points but points do not cover the expensive resort fees which were almost $300 for a long weekend. There were several disappointments such as paying expensive resort fees and parking regardless if we used the water park or amenities. Broken slide, broken railing, water damage in ceiling, getting locked out of the room after a late checkout request, door keys not functioning, Lazer tag was a dark room with green lights for a maze with no attendant and then the one that assisted was rude to kids, dirty stairs, cigarette butts and excrement on stairs, no clear schedule when items were open, and being place next to the elevator after request to be away from the elevator. Overhead room lights did not function and needed to use lamps. The bathroom had no ventilation and the tub drain did not drain the water completely leaving a pool of slippery water after a shower.

I worked there for many years, leaving in May of '16, just before the 'official' rebranding, and mid remodel. Holiday Inn didn't sell or buy the resort. Miller Global owned it for a while, flew the Holiday Inn flag, and brought in the Nickelodeon brand. Another company bought the resort (the same that manages the Queen Mary in Long Beach), performed a half-hearted remodel, dropped the Nick brand, talked Holiday Inn into coming back on board, and essentially mismanaged the resort into bankruptcy. They closed for a bit, blaming it on the C word. Laid off everyone. They were (are) horrible.

In the second room, is the bottom bunk bed a double or are they both twins?

Hi! When did you visit this hotel? I am trying to find out if the waterpark is open. We heard that it was under construction and are having a hard time confirming that information. Thank you!
