We really enjoy your channel. especially the bread machine! I started using mine before I saw your channel but I had a lot of questions. You helped me so much. We love the Lord too. We are retired, live in the central lower Michigan. Praying for your son and daughter, we worship a GOD MIRACLES. JESUS is coming soon to get us before HE punishes the WORLD. HANG ON TO HIM WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT, SISTER.
It’s great to see you again, looks great and I too would appreciate a never fail pie crust. Store bought pie crusts are getting difficult to find and getting to the market is just another hardship. I love your huge flour container. Mine is a 50-year old wedding gift, not too big,but I think of my sister every time I use it. Keep the videos coming, you’re most enjoyable to watch.
Hi Colleen Thank you. I have been following your dry canned potatoes and I am loving it. Will be making you biscuits. Love Canada. Miss visiting. I am at high elevation too.
Hello Pie in the Sky, Thank you for watching and trying some of the recipes. The high altitude definitely adds to the challenges of canning and preserving. Times are challenging but I feel certain this won't last forever and soon you will be able to visit again. All the best! Colleen
Okay this recipe looks like something that I can actually try. So awhile back I bought a HUGE box of bisquick (kind of on accident). Not to make biscuits. We were doing a bit of long term food storage after the pandemic hit & I thought bisquick would be a good idea to store, thinking I can make several things with it if things shut down and it got to the point where we needed emergency food. Not knowing you need many other ingredients, especially milk or eggs to make every one of the recipes so we didn't end up storing it. I hadn't used it before but now I had this giant box so I started to look into recipes to use it up. My husband loves biscuits. Especially biscuits & gravy. So I made them a few times & truthfully they were terrible. They were dry & yuck. I still served them to him under a river of white peppered gravy & some sunny side up eggs. He ate them & didn't complain & I didn't tell him what I thought bc if I put it in his head he would realize the truth. Haha. Anyhow your biscuits look lovely, yummy & most importantly easy. I saved this video to my recipes so I will give it a try.
Hello Nancy, Its good to be back! This semi retirement will be alot more fun when there more retirement and less semi...lol. We are staying well so far, although we have had a couple of cases in our little community so its close for sure. We are spending most of our time either at work behind plexiiglass or home. I hope you and yours are staying well? Take good care! Colleen
Hello, This was my Aunt Aline's recipe that I think she got from my grandma. 5 cups all purpose flour, 1 lb lard, 1 top salt, 3/4 cup lukewarm water, 2 tbsps vinegar. Cut lard into flour and salt until it looks like crumbs. Mix together water and vinegar, work into flour mixture just until mixed. Makes 5 smallish crusts. I always refrigerate them for about a half an hour before I roll them out. They called it never fail pie crust.
Hey girl hope you're doing well. I love biscuits with jam... yum have a wonderful one of our Thanksgivings....lol I love the buttermilk in the fridge. I haven't brought myself to drink it....yuk I will use in in several recipes if it's there... Love and many blessing to you.
Hi Valerie, I was raised on a farm and our mom loved buttermilk with a sprinkle of salt and pepper on top. Thats the way I learned to enjoy it and still drink it today. I love these biscuits but I also use buttermilk in my buttermilk syrup for German pancakes. Happy American Thanksgiving! Cheers, Colleen
@@georgiagirl6632 I've been thinking about you. I didn't want to bother you. My best friend in high school got the flipping virus and she died. I was talking to her one day on face book she didn't answer me I looked on her page and all her friends she worked with were saying how she helped them and they'll miss her... I just couldn't believe it. No funeral no nothing. Life is so precious. I'm so glad your recovered. Any how I've been really good. Canning everything lol. You'd think I'm waiting for the apocalypse there is just the two of us... I need to get to the farmers market and sell some jams. I had planned on it and never got there. Made some cranberries and applesauce for Thanksgiving. I got my brother in law spoiled he won't buy it in the store. Please keep in touch Sorry Colleen didn't mean to take up real estate on your site. I was just so happy to hear from Georgia.
Can you make a video on some of your recipes that use buttermilk? Once I buy the quart I make the recipe and the rest goes to waste or I put it in the freezer and lose it. Please help us out I’m sure there are a lot of us out here.
