Something so special about going on a cruise glad you got away! We are finally off to Mexico for a week Puerto Vallarta this time not the other side where one of the cartel boss's son was just captured. Safety first Bob lol
Funny, I went on a Carnival cruise just about two years ago and they had lobster, and a steak (I forget which cut) on the included menu. They own HAL, so you'd think that lobster would be available on formal night. Perhaps Carnival has changed that as well.
I was on the Konigsdam about a month before you were. I thought that the food in the MDR was excellent throughout the cruise with very few misses. At the time, they were having some staff shortages which meant that the service was a little service and you had to make sure you ordered everything up front. Good revier.
Looks like you're both enjoying yourself wonderful, it's nice to get away. Enjoyed the review and you are the world's best food photographer. Thanks again for the enjoyable video.
I was not charged for double lobster tails on Royal Caribbean and steak and lobster on (Celebrity), for Christmas 22' sailing on Apex! Why is Holland America charging for lobster, on formal night?
Every time we cruised prior to corona, even on Carnival, there was always a lobster night... they all appear to be gone now, celebrity may be the only one! LOL
@@RealBobDingo When I left my Christmas cruise on Apex, a long time loyal passenger was complaining (in Elite departure lounge) how the standards had plummeted at Princess, while another couple said the same thing for Holland.
You are such a good photographer Bob. Really great video. I absolutely love the relationship you and Mum have. It's beautiful. Making lifetime memories are priceless. So if I understand correctly you can decide each night if you want the fancy dine in a dining room, or you can hit the buffet if you wish? I went on a cruise 40 years ago and there was only one night that people dressed up and had fancy dining room dinner. It was called "the Captain's dinner", and you were assigned which night you were dining fancy. I am sure everything is different now. Bob, you kill the poor chef every time you ask for your well done steak (no matter where you are eating). The food looked very good. Except the pork belly (I am with you Bob on pork belly). You both looked very nice for your fine dining night. Mum looked so pretty in her pink dress. You also looked very handsome Bob. Another Dingo family memory for the books :)
Thanks for such a thoughtful comment, Laurie! Yeah, the buffy and dining room are open at the same times everyday, so you can go to either one! The dining isn't really formal per-se they just have a few dress rules like no long pants and sandals.
I like pork belly but with minimal fat aka flubber. Dingo it takes time to get used to eating the meat medium rare. Its much better then well done and its coming from a perosn that used to get well done.
Food looked really good. I might have to try Holland America. I see they have a cruise match program going on right now where it is possible to get a free cruise with them.
Nice! The service looked impressive. Ship has nice ambience. It's been years since I've had French Onion soup, but yes, that didn't look right. Definitely needed more cheese. I love that you can order just about anything you want, even Indian food vegetarian and non. Now I really want to try it out one day. I too am a sucker for a bread basket. I could make a meal out of that itself, and I have. 😁
@@RealBobDingo Oh absolutely! They know what they're doing putting bread and other things at the front of buffets so you'll fill up on the cheap stuff. Lol
