Wow! Carol Thelen you outdid yourself with this one. You explain how this block is created in such a way, that I immediately understood the piecing and shading, and didn't feel intimidated. I never considered making this block before, and now want to. Thank you.
I have wanted to make a cube quilt for some years, but felt very intimidated! Now that I have watched your amazing tutorial, Carol, I will be going through my stash tomorrow for sure!!!!!!! Take care ❤️
Great video! The explanation about the back wall, floor and side wall being opposite the border did it for me!! This is on my to-do list....near the top!! Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much Carol for showing us the less frustrating way to do this affective illusion cube. So impressed with the way that you teach. I have subscribed without hesitation. Great job.👍🏼👍🏼💕
Oh my gosh! You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you. I learned so much about multiple things not even related to the block you created. I would never have even attempted to make that cube because it seemed too advanced for me. But you made it seem well within my skill range. What a confidence builder you are. Bless you.
WOOOWWW!!! THIS IS SOOOO FABULOUS!!! I have never even wanted to do a tumbling block quilt (too intimidating for my skill level) and you make me want to make one like this today! 🤩🤩🤩
That was the most captivating video for me as I am dyslexic, but it was so organized & non threatening that I wrote notes throughout. I love cubes because of the modern look they bring. Thank You so much!💜🧡💙♥️💛
Thank you for this fabulous tutorial. Like others have said before me- your explanation on the ‘ceiling/floor’ was the best and solidified in my head how easy this 3D block really is. Im so happy that I have found you💕
this is out of my comfort zone but i have made ten an really like it thanks so much for sharing ,if i finish it i would like to enter it in our local fair if i could get your OK ,that also gives me a time frame to finish it going for no UFO this year thanks again for sharing
WOW! I believe you have been blessed with the gift for teaching! I can immediately understand your instructions….and that is for all of your videos, thank you so much!!
❤❤❤ Amazing… Thankyou for sharing your Hollow Cubes Block… will definitely add this to the list to do… My first attempt of baby building blocks, was about 38years ago, and it was all done by hand…
I just found this video.. What a fantastic resource. I have been intimidated by this style of quilt, but you have explained it so clearly, that I feel I could succeed. Thank you too for not editing out the mistake. I felt that made you more real and approachable.
Wow what a great tutorial, I always thought there was much more to this block than I was comfortable doing. I think it is going to be on my bucket list of projects. Thank you so much for the demonstration
Oh my goodness! this quilt is awesome! it sure is very challenging to a beginner. I just tried making a stacked quilt block and I did it! I’m so proud myself as a beginner. I definitely want to try this pattern. Thanks for sharing
This tutorial Far the best tutorial of the 3D cube. Easy to follow and understand. I'm reaaly with my mouth open! After seing it, I must do it. Thank you for sharing. Mariza Ambrósio from Brazil.
Another big wow!!! I’ve always loved the cube pattern but it looked really complicated in sewing the cubes together. You made it so easy by just sewing in rows - no “Y” seams!!!!! Thank you so much.
When you noticed the error you did not edit, but left it to confuse the watchers. You added a flash note, but should have taken apart the error and fixed it before continuing to record. The background fabric is wonderful!! Color, intensity, scale and motion of design PERFECT.
Kate Carol said in the video that she didn’t see the error until she was all finished; just by watching her efforts it’s abundantly clear that she does everything she can NOT to confuse anyone. In one of her responses above she spoke to that point in her usual cheerful way.
I absolutely love this tutorial ❣️ You make it seem easy and I think that even I can do it. Thanks for such clear instructions and for leaving in the oops that shows us that even experienced quilters make mistakes and that is okay. You just fix it and move on.
I had to laugh about the mistakes. If we learn from our mistakes, I am a genius! Haha!! I have made just about every mistake that can be made and I'm always making new ones. Glad you like the video and thanks for watching.
When you are watching the videos on RU-vid, look just under the video and you will see the title then the like button and under that is a light grey box that is the description. Look for "...more" and click on that. Lot's of good information will pop up. Look for DOWNLOAD FREE INSTRUCTIONS. Thanks for watching.
That background fabric is called Sedona Wave. It is 108" wide from Blank Quilting. I'm not sure if they print it anymore but I think you can easily find it online. Thanks for watching.
The blue fabric is Sedona Wave by Blank Quilting. I love it too. It is a wide backing but I think it also came in 45". A similar fabric is Wave Texture by Benartex. Thanks for watching.
Great tutorial. I have a couple of Marci Baker's books (and of course I have her ruler!). I've not undertaken this technique yet. Thank you for your clear exposition of the technique.
