Throughout the game, I kept experimenting with all the charms and I mean ALL of em (except for the Compass because I have very good mapping skills.) From Steady Body and Heavy Blow to Glowing Womb and Soul Eater; I used the charms to their full potential and it made my experience with the game so much more strategic and interesting. When I discovered my first charm interaction, it was one of the most fascinating things I’ve seen in a while. So I made this video dedicated to that aspect of the game I absolutely adored (Grimm Troupe DLC charms included.)
This is my first semi-serious video I made so criticism is much appreciated.
Found a lot of these facts in the Hollow Knight Wiki so whoever is running it is doing a really good job. Check it out!

There are new LIFEBLOOD UPDATE Charm Interactions!!! *Weaversong* + *Sprintmaster* - Makes the weaverlings faster and hyperactive. *Weaversong* + *Grubsong* - Every slash a weaverling lands gives you a snippet of SOUL ___________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks to some comments (mainly Top Waifu), I am made aware that there’s a charm interaction that I missed! If you equip *Grubberfly’s Elegy* and *Grubsong* , the amount of *_SOUL_* you gain when taking damage increases to a considerable amount. If you are a clumsy and careless player like me, this will be a great combo for you. This nice harmony also gives Grubberfly’s Elegy a bit more utility since it loses its main effects once you are down a mask. Nice to know that its benefits aren’t that limited. Problem is I can’t think of any good names for this combo but maybe you guys can give it a shot? Reply below if you can think any. Would love to see it!

Grubsong to generate focus when being hit by every single trap ever in that horrible place, deep focus to get more health back from the focus. I liked that level.

All I really needed was Deep Focus and Grubsong tbh. Grubsong generates soul each time you get hurt and you regenerate 2 masks for one lost I didn’t even have Hiveblood so good god

This is one of the many reasons this game is one of my all-time favorites. I mean, look at these exploding wombs, different unn shapes etc. Would many devs bother making different sprites and animations for each of these combos? And you, my man, amazing editing with nicely placed jokes!

100% agree with you. My exact thoughts throughout the game. The charm mechanic was so creative, well thought-out and the combos aren't even presented to you, they are basically easter eggs which is just unbelievable.

I agree. Though, my one gripe with this game is the cryptic nature of all these things. I'm a little ambivalent about it, on one hand I love secrets, on the other hand some are near impossible to know about (the hive entrance, the path of pain entrance) and you're basically forced to search things up if you want to 100% the game. I'd love to see the developers make some of the hidden things more apparent. I'm not saying make the entrances more obvious, rather leave more clues in the game about these secrets. I think many of the secrets are well done, but there's definitely a whole bunch that are so hard to find that it becomes a chore to find them.

I agree with you. Sometimes, some people need the search the wiki for these secrets which ends up spoiling the surprise for them even more. Luckily and thankfully, that barely happened to me.

I agree, I'm the kind of dude who combs through maps carefully and even takes notes of places I can't access yet so that I can come back later when I can... and I still missed some pretty important things like the Hive Entrance and the Path of Pain. I think this kind of game needs some kind of late game mechanic facilitating the finding of hidden spots.

@@ManoredRed i tottaly agree and i also do the same for example that acid pit that could not be accessed unless you got the acid blessing thing but some things are really hard to find for example i really wanted to get the weaverlings because they looked super fun but i hate darknest and i hate the creatures there so i didnt want to comb that place out. I wanted to leave that place as soon as. Other places i would come out Like wondering why this cliff is here and using the crystal jump to find an area. Also finding good short cutes such as getting of the stagway of kings road or whatever and going to the top, taking that door wall jump to the highest point you can Cystal jump and you ignored every big red warrior from there untill the next building xD supee useful for my first run since i cant foght them without losing 2 masks since i do no fdamage and a is a lot faster

@@kevinlima1243 Yep, quick shell + thorns = a very crude parry mechanic. I hope Silksong actually add a parry, diagonal dashes and so on, because the combat of HK is already amazing, with more depth it can raise the quality levels to some crazy degrees. Usually metroidvanias are surpassed by their sequels, so I am hyped for it (basically the only upcoming game that I actually care)

The great thing about combining quick and deep focus is that, depending on the boss, you can out heal their attacks. Most boss fights, you can get off one heal and then promptly get smacked for it. But when you're healing two masks per focus, it can be worth it to take the hit. you still gain 1 health.

Originally, Weaversong gave you 4 Weaverlings, but then in one of the DLC updates (I think it was Godmaster, though I'm not sure because I didn't play till afterward), Weaversong was tweaked. It was taken from 4 to 3 Weaverlings, but they also added interactions with the Grubsong and Sprintmaster charms. The first makes it so Weaverlings get Soul by attacking enemies, and the second makes them much faster. Super useful if you want to have a build where you just dodge and let your minions attack, although it gets hard to see where the boss is if you do a full minion build.

@@sterlingmuse5808 Actually I just cheesed lost kin with a minion build recently; I had the weaverlings collect soul, exploding hatchlings, and grimmchild do the work while I just charged a crystal dash in the top corner where lost kin couldn't reach me lol

@@ddmm2343 Ooh, that's a cool strategy. I probably wouldn't do it at this point, but that's because I sort of brute forced myself to memorize how to beat it normally. Are you sure he can't get you with his jump attack though? I would guess that it's uncommon but that he can still actually reach you if you're unlucky.

That Flukenest+Shade Soul+Shaman Stone combination is devastating! I did not know about Fury of the Fallen + Grubberfly's Elegy. :D "Fart" xD Shape of Unn really turns us into frickin' Servbot. XD Hot damn Dreamshield really is a low-key super charm. :)

I started playing this game yesterday and today this vídeo showed up in my recommended playlist, until now I had no idea you could combo charms, this is becoming my ALL time favorite game
