Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization takes place in one of the stages set within the original Sword Art Online and will give fans the chance to experience the “Sword Art Online” world from the very beginning. Taking on the role of Kirito, players enter a new VRMMORPG world called “Sword Art Origin”, which was created on the game’s original sever, giving players flashbacks of memories from past events. Players will enter the early period within the “Sword Art Origin” world and must find a way to win the game one more time.

There's no way I can get a ps4 any time soon, so I really do hope the vita version is improved more. They better not get lazy and give vita-only players the short end of the stick.

Thank you ! so much for making this in-depth video comparison! My friend & I were interested in getting the Vita ver to play together, but had to research if it was possible. Then I read a little comment about the poor quality, and had to know what the deal was. This was so informative, really helpful!! Guess I won't be playing though. The most I can do is watch my bf when he plays on PS4 : / . I have too many other games to finish (like Ciminal Girls atm) to bother playing HR solo. The ps4 game is so damn beautiful tho. I hate how if I want to play anything good with him, I need my own console and tv. we can't afford that... I want to play on the same couch!

If I were to get this game, I would only play on PS Vita, so this is the video I really needed. Really appreciated. I'll probably get it in a couple month's time, when it'll (hopefully) be a little more stable.

Hey Havian, Just want to point out some things in my R3 PS Vita copy of hollow realization 1 They seem to have a misprint on the backcover of the case. There is a "Blu-Ray disc" icon at the back cover which is weird for a cartridge stored game 2 There seems to be a region exclusive dlcs of some sort, here in my copy I didn't get the GE collabiration outfits but instead got a dress for females based on a southeast asian dress called "kabaya". Take note that this is an R3 copy. 3 It seems to be the game is still in version 1.00 in default once you pop up the game..there was an update for 1.01 earlier but nothing about 1.03 still

Havian I loved HF, I truly did, can you pls answer me a couple questions about hf and hr? Do you know if there is chance of implements or something similar coming up?Like a list of endgame activities to grind and get lootOr something like the hollow area where you could just walk and find very powerful mobs with great loot and have a change for gloryAnd another one, is mp like hf in the way that you can solo them with npc members?, do you pick a mission, choose the difficulty, you see the drop chance of the loot table?, or its different?, the most important part for me is the loot table and drop changes according to difficulty

It seem that the Vita version is doing quite good, consider it have to cut out a lot of texture + loading time. The issue I see so far is engage in large scale boss raid or battle seem to be very laggy, even it got patch still somehow laggy, I guess it would be around 15 - 19 fps when engage to large scale battle. I wonder how it going to handle in multiplayter.

PS4 Version for FPS stability (which I prefer to graphical fid and portability), saying that I'll spring for the vita ver down the line, it'll be nice to get some game time in between train rides :)

Is there any bonus content for having save data from HR and LS on your HDD for the PS4 version? Also do you need completed game data or just a save file?

I never finished the story in either, do you need to for the bonuses? I am a habitual game quitter. In the last 10 years I have only finished around 15 of the 300 games I own.

wait wait wait. 2.8 GB for The Vita Version of Hollow Realization. thats insane Hollow Fragment was 3.6 GB Also as an owner of a Vita and PS4 i was happy that the orginal announcement from the Bandai Namico in Japan Had both Vita and PS4 editions in the Special Edition, when the Special Edition announcement for NA was the same, the contents didnt include the Vita Game, but A Kirito and Asuna Figurine, I still got the Special Edition I just didnt have access to my PS4 for enough time. So I had to buy the Vita Version by Importing it from Europe, This comment prolly should have been made a while back >_>

Yea, shadows make a huge difference. If you ever play an MMO on the PC then turn the shadows off and then crank them to high and it is literally night and day in terms of visuals.

Picked up my PS4 Pro on launch day. Got this game along with Fallout 4 as my first games. I'm liking it so far. The world looks incredible. The (new) Town of Beginnings is a huge improvement from Floor 76 from Hollow Fragment and massive improvement from the town in Lost Song. The Boss Raids feel more the Bosses we saw in the Anime. Since Sword Art: Origin is suppose to be a copy of Sword Art Online, I'm hoping the Forest House appears in this game. And actually allows us to enter it, rather than visit it like in Hollow Fragment.

Can't really decide if I wanna get the PS4 version or skip this entirely. I would've debated between getting either PS4 or Vita, but Vita version is digital only. I'm fine with digital only on PS4 since my disc drive is broken and upgrading storage is relatively "cheap", however on Vita the memory cards are ridiculously expensive and I've already bought way more games than I can actually store on my mega-expensive 64 GB memory card. I really wish I could get the Vita version physically, and maybe later on get the PS4 version so I play Vita when I don't have access to my PS4 and then transfer to PS4 when I do. Maybe I can import from UK using eBay.... EDIT: Question about the PS4 version: does Bamco use their own servers for the multiplayer for this game or Sony's? I don't want to get PS+ and if I'm going to require that for multiplayer, I'd rather get the Vita version first even if the performance sucks baboon farts.

There's only so much that optimization will fix for the Vita version. At the end of the day, the PS4 just has more horsepower. Does anyone know if there is cross-save between the PS4 and Vita versions of the game?

True, but from what I've seen of the vita overclock, there's quite a bit of performance in the vita developers are leaving untapped for the sake of battery life.

The game looks great on Vita, despite being a portable device. I will buy it on my Vita because I can play anywhere, and it has great graphics, even if it is ported from a console, after the new patch 1.03, the game is playable by 101%.

hated the anime but this game looks really fun. I'm a massive fan of ff14 and it seems they've taken a lot from that game to appeal to a wider market. will you be doing a video on weapon types and class roles? I play as a tank in most other MMOs and one thing I don't understand is if roles are important or effective in this game. or if its just a DPS trash everything kind of game. look forward to seeing more of these great videos from you. big thumbs up!

Well after my dumpster fire psvita that currupted my 32gb sony crappy memory card. Years later, this day i decided to jail break the vita. With its mods features. So after many tries to get my game save data back i manage it. But when i play the game, everything is lock 30fps. Game runs supper awesome! Thanks to its mod plugins over clock and performance upgrade. But man this game alot of content

the latest vita patch (above than the one in this video) corrects a lot of popping, but not all. the town is especially much better than it was. also, the fps issues while fighting is totally another world with the latest patch. i dont see any fps issues anymore. even if the game looks less good than the ps4 version, i find portability and grinding goes along together so well that i dont want to go on my ps4 to play this game. im glad they released it on vita, i didnt buy a switch yet and a big rpg like this one on vita is more than welcome.

Is the Vita version Digital Download Only? cause I haven't seen any Physical copies of the Vita Version on EB Games' Website.

Nine_Tails137 The physical copies for Vita are only the Japanese version, or European version. North America gets only the "Digital Download" version. I have no idea why. JRPGs seem to do well here. I would prefer to have a physical copy. Especially since I love the SAO games. I think the digital copy should cost less. At least with a physical copy you can trade it in, or sell it, if you wanted to.

Shelby Cat I thought so! Also, I prefer Physical Copies over Digital Copies of Games as well because there's a lower chance of the said Game having a glitch or corrupt File. Where as if anything goes wrong with my Physical Copy, I can simply delete my old Save File, then reload a new save File to my System. Also, I'm glad to hear you love SAO as much as I do! 😊 Plus, I like JRPGs as well!

i bought mine preorder from EB Games though, idk why you didnt see it, it was very obvious for preorder on psvita page, but i do see they take it down after 2 days of launch, might becoz of the fps issue and many refunds... you can still buy it from ozgameshop for cheap with free shipping code here: SHIP

***** I searched for that game on EB Games' Website a few weeks ago, but only the PS4 Version of the Game showed up on their website. Also, I pre-Ordered my Copy as well, which came with exclusive DLC Costumes for Kirito and Asuna. Asuna got a maid outfit, and her Pajamas, where as Kirito got a God Eater Costume, and some other costume I can't remember off the top of my head. Also, the website mentioned a Steel Book Case as a Pre-Order Bonus, however, when I talked to the salesman at EB Games, he said there was nothing like that mentioned in their computers. So, I don't know if that Bonus was a GameStop exclusive or something?

I'm glad they patched the fps a bit for the Vita version, but I hope they keep working to optimise it, the Vita is capable of more if they're willing to put the effort in. edit: screw it, I just cancelled my pre-order, there's only 5 days left & they made the Vita version look like an afterthought. They've lost a sale, because I'm not playing this on console.

@Travis Yup, I think it's too late for them to improve the graphics at all & FPS might not even get patched to be stable. Also I still feel burned by Lost Song. @Dylan Morfei I'm not sure what you mean by it not being capable of more because it's "an obsolete system", though it's not obsolete as long as there is no successor & there are still people playing it (in the millions, whether that be in the East or West).

Im not the type who cares about graphics but framerate bothers me a lot.. So im getting the ps4 and if they do a better patch where the framerate is stable dont mind buying it also for my vita

Thaïs Fracasso I would imagine so. There are regional Playstation Stores online. You can view all their games and add-ons on there. If you google search you should be able to find out.

I'm so thankful i have watched the video, honestly the vita version sucks a bit. The only problem is that the Ps4 version is 30$ more expensive... I don't know what to do!!

PS4 > Vita the graphics, fps, and overall details of the game are just no comparison and will make the game experience much better. This video made me happy that i'm getting the PS4 version I'd be upset if I was getting Vita version after watching this.

that difference in graphics....I realise why now I got a bit sick of hollow fragment...its the shadowing and contrast I think... altho I am fine with both....I cant decide which version to get...grrr....
