Holly Hunter's voice and eyes are simply mesmerising. i could listen to her talk about her craft all day.

I'll probably never get the opportunity to work with her, but sure wish I could. I love actors who are passionate about their craft, the way she is. It makes the day go by, so much faster.

She seems like a very down to earth person. Lovely too!

1:36 - She took something she felt some kind of way about and said “I’m using that”…….channeling her emotion into her craft. We often call an actor underrated, but Holly truly is. I would love to see her in more films but if a project doesn’t resonate with her she may decide to pass on it.

Directors need to watch this. Film sets are such hostile environments for actors. They'll spend three hours lighting a tiny area and then expect an actor to magically pop into the moment of a high emotional scene with 5 pages of dialogue to be memorized and performed flawlessly. And then civilians wonder why Christian Bale blows up on a set.

That is the worst excuse ever for being an asshole. Do your job. An actor, believe it or not, isn’t the center of the universe. Do your job without taking a dump on your “scapegoat”.

@@jakesingerman9257 No, it's actually a pretty good excuse. Nobody claimed to be the center of the universe. It's about social awareness and respect. Everybody has a job but we're not props. You've obviously never been on a film set as an actor.

This is just *SO* precious. I've never had the opportunity of having my feelings crushed by the offering of stuffed crab.

I agree with her about craft guy. Very disrespectful. My first thought is would he have done that to Jack Nicholson or Tom Cruise?
@mccloysong
@mccloysong 4 года назад
Maybe not. They're icons, regardless of gender (if that was your point). Holly was not famous then, she mentioned she was a walk-on audition. Now, if craft guy did it to Meryl Streep and not Nicholson, then yeah, a gender thing.

I think there has and always be a disparity between artists and technicians almost like left and right in politics, you need both for it to work. The artists (actors, directors) will see the technician types as not being as caring as many crew members will see it as 'just a job' where they are paid and they leave to go do the next one, whereas the technicians will see artists as being pretentious or overly sensitive about things that they deem unimportant. I think what Holly is saying is correct though a film set needs to be treated with respect, it's not a playground and it needs to be treated with the seriousness it deserves, the crew members that get a good reputation already know this... the best DP's, Gaffers, Sound Crews, Set Designers, Costume Designers get hired not just for their talent but more importantly because they are professional and have respect for their craft.
