You can go back and forth all you want about Mike and fighting, but his movement for his muscularity just cannot be denied. There are almost no people that can move like he can with his musculature, regardless of drugs and what not. His age only makes it even more impressive. You only get that way if you grow up and live doing those movements. He clearly puts the time in and that’s why he can move like that with his musculature. Even pro fighter who could easily beat Micheal just cannot move like him. Better fighter or not, Mike has put more time into martial arts training than many MMA fighters, at least the lower leaguers. He may not be able to beat them, but he puts in more time than many of them do. It’s all he’s ever done.
Imagine training in fighting styles that have been proven to be effective in real combat since you were 7/8 years old, training your body to be in great condition, increasing your strength, speed, and skill for almost half a century. And people say you don't know how to or can't fight.
Hes mainly trained in the traditional martial arts systems, not really mma boxing muay thai, etc.. and he's never had a sanctioned fight, and there's no footage of him sparring. Yeah he'd take an average untrained person but I wanna know how he'd do vs someone with legit fighting experience
@@izmirurla35 Mike said he fought Billy Blanks (karate champion) and lost, regularly spars with Josh Barnett ( former champion, who says they're close in skill), Uriah Hall said (on video) he's legit, Alan Jouban was a student of his, he gets praise from Jon Jones, and Francis Ngannou. Joe Rogan and Eddie Bravo say Mike's legit, he's fought kyokushin which is bare knuckle full contact. It's also stated that he's trained in kick boxing, muay thai, and jiu jitsu, all used in MMA/UFC. Not saying Mike can defeat everyone, because he himself has said that he can't. But if people who are legit martial artist/UFC fighters say Mike is not only "legit" but "100%" a real fighter. That's like saying someone who has black belts in every martial art (180+ forms of martial arts, which includes judo, jiu jitsu, boxing, muay thai, karate, etc.) in the world would lose to an MMA/UFC fighter who's only studied boxing, judo, taekwondo and jiu jitsu (4 forms of martial arts) because they never fought in the octagon. Since when is 4 greater than 180?
@@GeneFOX70 The fight is so exciting cause man who have less experience could win easily. There is guys like Olivera been choked out buy guys like Pettis, there is guys like Gohan Saki been ko’d completely buy a wrestler in a MMA fight, guys like Micheal Johnson who ko’d Porier, super experienced, great boxer and gets ko’d by Josh Emmet, so belts, experience and skills is not guarantee of victory. Experience is major part, does MJW have any record ? Did you saw whit your own eyes MJW fight ?Did Jones, Burnett and other fighters was training whit him more than week ? They just toying, rewatch he’s “sparrings” if you not trust me. MJW in great shape and it seems like he’s very experienced traditional martial artist but is there any of he’s footage, except one when he was teenager, where he’s fighting in full contact ?
@@heillusium9217 you just proved my point, Anthony Pettis is more skilled than Charles Olivera. Pettis trained in other martial arts while Olivera only trained in jiu jitsu. Fight experience doesn't matter, if a newcomer like Josh Emmett can knockout a UFC veteran like Michael Johnson how can experience be a key factor? The great boxer George Foreman got defeated in the 90s despite having 20 - 30 plus years of experience. If a former UFC Champion has stated that he and MJW are relative in stats (strength, speed, and skill), how can you say he's lying? Not saying Mike is a fighter because he himself has said multiple times that he's not a fighter but to say he's not legit when people who fight for a living say he's legit is just wrong. But obviously we can't take statements as fact, Steven Segal beat Michael Jai White on camera. Meaning aikido (no striking) is greater than karate, jiu jitsu, muay thai, kung fu, boxing, kick boxing, taekwondo, and judo.
@@GeneFOX70 Thank you! 🙏🏾. Starting to think most comments are coming from people whom don’t train or don’t train properly. Special forces don’t show their skill to the world but are fully capable of taking a life. The whole argument is ridiculous to me, before there was MMA there was the school and street where the elite of those days honed their skill, don’t let modern technology fool you into thinking all that you see is to be believed. MJW is legit, go look up what it takes to survive Kyokushin..
Man's an expert in several martial arts, trained his whole life, regularly gets *asked for advice* by professional fighters, but he obviously knows nothing because some RU-vid commenters who've never been near a gym said so.
@@paulbismuth3264 sorry but the reality is he has been in plenty of real fights. All through his life. He talks about his upbringing and how he would street fight against gangs to test his skills. Sooooo yeah he has experience fighting in an actual street fight bare knuckle.

@@BigBoss7777777 Doesn't mean they don't respect him nor does it mean they can't learn from him. MMA fighters are trained by people who don't necessarily fight in MMA. Some don't even fight. Wrestling Coaches, Judo etc. Possibly only the Muay Thai coaches have actual ring experience.

@@benselman6477 what you trying to to say that Micheal Kai white is trash or something because I do not think that’s correct of what it saying of him Mji is not just a fighter but an intellectual in battle strategy he thinks steps of ahead of what his opponents does and what moves they’ll make and use effective moves to defeat his opponents on top of that he mastered Kyokushin
It's great to see martial artists bond and have fun during training. I feel like Michael saw Gokhan's immense skill just through this simple drill and that's when he started to smile.
Is still built like a brick house and does look great for 50! No balding or gray hairs, even! 0:47 Although his reaction time seems really slow with his slipping and counterpunching, TBH?
Holding black belts in 8 different martial arts and 26 karate championships makes this man the definition of a mixed martial artist. This drill trains the fighter to slip punches and counter properly without endangering them the way sparring does. MJW is a living legend, better recognize and respect greatness.

@Tren Kokoko So, what are you implying? Mike is a badass and def dont belong in that category. He's fought full contact before and won numerous martial arts tournaments
4 года назад
@Tren Kokoko I dont give a fuck about fools who fight for sport like all you deluded MMA fanboys on here. MJW is trained for the streets and for life-and-death situations. He's won well over 20+ Martial Arts tournaments. You claiming he ain't a true fighter, but professional UFC fighters and boxers say otherwise and know he ain't no joke.
before you say anything about michael jai white being just an actor, google his martial arts background. yes, he does movies for living, but that doesn't mean he can't actually fight. If I'm correct, he has 7 black belts in different martial arts. basically, this guy has been training for his whole life.
@@vaevictious the vid is deleted mate and plus u cant say a person with 8 black belts now isnt a real fighter he will fuck up anyone in ufc/mma if he wanted to
@@ivan491 the vid is deleted becuse mike ´s publicist must have reached out to the uploader and pay him to delete the video. anyway the video was a secret capture whilst mike was sparring two no names karatekas one who was significantly smaller than mike and he got his as lit up by both . mike cant deal with pressure and he cant fight whilst being under pressure, he lacks offence and killer instinct to. he got beaten to thwe point the referee had to step in and ask if mikes ok. mike can look good in slow ass sparring or whilst instructing how other people should attach him but when it comes to real sparring all his techniques and skills are simply not applicable . the video was uploaded to sherdog at one point to but now its nowhere to be seen. your utterly delusional even a middlewight ann the actor vandamme would smoke him with ease and i say with ease...becuse what i saw in that clip was shocking even to me. bevcuse just lie you i thought mike could hang with the best.
People think he is just an actor who knows martial arts. He is actually a full time martial artists who trains with Kickboxers, MMA fighters and traditionalists. He is always evolving and always keeps in great shape. He Sport of choice just happens be movie fighting, which still takes a great deal of fitness and skill.
Thank you Michael jay White for showing me how important head movement is to all martial arts. Next time I have a sparring class I will definitely use some head movement
I see a lot of experts here...the guy has at least 30 years martial arts experience. Yes he s not a pro fighter but that doesn t mean he s not lethal! I am pretty sure he could handle any pro fighter even if he s over 50!
In striking, he’s got a background for it. I hate people who discredit him but also hate people who glorify him. He’s a respectable martial artist for sure.
@Tren Kokoko That doesnt make sense dumb ass... its called weight gain which happens to a man naturally as we age. Some of us however turn that into good weight or muscle. its not hard to do.
mariusz sabadasz Jai White has been training in Martial arts before Saki was even born and has won karate tournaments in his younger days. he's also a black belt in Kyokushin and a 9th degree black belt in kickboxing. he would have been a great kickboxer in his prime, Gohkan can learn alot from him.
Honestly not sure how much MJW can teach Gokhan Saki about striking. Gokhan saki can even teach other world champions kickboxers on some tips here and there. That guy may go down as one of the best from this decade next to Tyrong and Badr. They have experienced devastating losses and delivered devastating wins and been through it all.
Yeah, it's a very correct comment. Now, anyone (even the top real fighters) could pick some from someone. I would agree that Saki could pick some stuff from MJW, A.Silva or Machida could find some interesting things from Seagal etc. The problem is, it seems these movie martial artists always make the things look like a unilateral need. As only those real fighters would have something to learn from them, but the other way around would not be the case. They are obsessed with this kind of cheap sellf adverstising shit, to look like a sort of teacher of them, taking advantages that those fighters are nice and humble guys.
What are you trying to get at? The guy is an actor but have been a focused martial artist his whole life gaining 7 black belts and he is also been seen training MMA and sparring with UFC fighters who all say respect the hell outta of this guy. And another thing, look at how he is built? He has one of the most impressive physiques ive seen. When you get 100kg of that kind of muscle with 7 black belts....... he knows how to fight dude
Slipping and countering. It is a drill. You can't hear what he's saying, but by his actions he is tell him to truly hit him. Timing is a little off, but excellent drill to interrupt the rhythm of a aggressor.
That's some realistic training there. He makes it looks easy, but it's not. Timing and seeing the movement; dodging it, throwing a counter punch in return is alot harder than it looks. Enough said! 👍💯👍💯
You see here is why worry about people who become super fans of people, MJW is a great martial artists and has very good kicks but from this clip if you knew things about boxing, firstly you would realise saki is throwing the jab slowly and at times still touching MJW , white footwork is also not that good in this clip from a boxing perspective. Now, before you say well why do these fighters go and listen to MJW, it’s called respect for the person just like silva and machida w segal and JCVD with Faber and garbrandt
David Salazar Yes, he was. He has a 3rd degree in kyokushin karate, which heavily depends on kumite. You can advance in rank in that style unless you compete and do multiple-man kumite.
Rohan Davey you can attain Black Belts in anything regardless whether you compete or not. Plus, if any actor can be recognized for his Kumite or Tournament skills. It would be Dolph Lungren. He was a European Kyokushin Champion. Something such as Champion has never been associated with MJW.
that´s just too awesome ... i would pay a lot to have a training session with Michael Jai White for once, too sad that i´m living in germany and it´s quite far to travel there :(
Every time someone says something negative about MJW, ask them two questions: 1.) Why don’t you fight him then, and 2.) If he shouldn’t be advising *insert whatever MMA fighter you’re gargling at the moment* then why do they seek his advice and training? The only answers they have are the ones they can pull out of their asses. Suddenly they will bring up Steven Seagal and try to reach for a comparison. When they do this, just continue to ask them those same questions over and over again. It’s quite simple, if MJW has no real fight credibility, you should challenge him one on one and prove it. Period. Acting aside. Hollywood aside. If he has no place training and working with competitive fighters, you should have your favorite competitive fighter explain himself as to why he would seek the advice of someone so unqualified. Period. There is no debating this.
Christian Powe it’s very debatable!!! Mikey is a joke! This idiot claimed that he could have beaten Bruce Lee “a dead man” if he was alive. Mikey got sooooo much negative feedback on that Bullshit statement that he actually apologize for saying that. Now if Mikey actually believed that he is that good and could actually beat Bruce Lee then why apologize for saying that? Truth be told same time period and same era Bruce Lee would kick his ass!! Then Mikey was asked if he and Wesley Snipes got into a fight who would win... He answered the question by saying that he and Wesley are good friends and that he wouldn’t fight him..... Mikey says that he could beat Bruce if he was alive, but wouldn’t fight Wesley who is alive 😂.... What a joke he is!
um this guy michael jai white is a notorious and brutal karate champion. he had a brief run in the public before the spawn movie came out, but was just too big to stay in the ring with. hes a big karate master, not to be taken as a joke if u know his record and watched it. he competed on tv though like right before ufc came out, and in its early days. ive seen him compete in several fight leagues with my own eyes, never seen him lose. like i think he even fought billy blanks before in a movie and outside the screen on tv. but he fought to those extremes. i dont know how much fighting footage there is of him, what u see is it. he kicks u to death thats all. and since hes black its hard to find his material thats why, u gotta look up documentaries but its there. but yea in his fights he would talk sometimes. dangerous dude. would always say he had an advantage because he could kick. and most other martial artists werent striking well. hes a major player there if your interested in violence, being one of the only ones who started the genre striking itself. and turning it into what it is today. i guess u cant find his material because he had a win record equivalent to bruce lees. he never lost much when he fought professional. big time american tournaments i seen him in. i think he fights underneath the tiger style maybe. they would hit him a lot, and he was just a kid back then so he doesnt like it that much. yea it was crazy to see him beatup those big dudes like that...very extreme and violent. not what u care to watch and talk about everyday on tv because it was very racists. bobby brown his cousin went to all his fights. he would even be in the crowd with whitney at some of them, thats why they say michael is really the one that started mma. that was in around 92'. but by then he was almost as undefeated as muhammad ali in the ring. then he went into movies with the good record he had. but ive seen all his shit almost i took karate, he a good dude. not just some fight monkey, no hes smarter. always was a star type of fighter...used ninchucks a lot. hes good with ninja stars too.
@Tom Murray you just had to be around when he was active. his last fight was before "never back down" came out. they used to scream evil shit at him man, thats why he looks like that. his first fight everybody was black in the crowd. i remember in the late 80's, after that he never showed himself much in public. but his fights were a hit. thats how he got a movie deal. um his fights were all on youtube, you just gotta look man. The general feeling was though they shouldnt be racist to the guy, screaming names at him and stuff. But rumors quickly died down, his martial arts career was in quite a dispute for a while i think. but u think he did leagues huh. nah man this dude is an olympian i think. like a trainer..hes not a small timer. he competed in major tournaments on tv. try looking up some of his fights through his cousin bobby brown. he was in the crowd at all of them. i mean almost every black celebrity at the time was at his fights. wesley, jim kelly. all of them. hes a real beast man. but yea to answer your quesiton, his fights were everywhere karate was in world majorly. U used to make pros, from amatuer in karate. I used to have to wait hours on tv, with bad fights on the night for his titles. nobody could record at the time how long those sorts of karate competitions lasted. I think he competed in the old World of Karate competition company, based out of america. or something like it i think it was, but I'm just going off of what I seen from him. everything had subtitles and was very fucking racists man im telling u.. u wouldnt believe he was murdering fools in the ring even if u saw him. they would call him the black guy and shit. crazy shit. black people dont wanna see shit like that in america, maybe in japan. thats what my dad said. so i watched it though, everytime they would call him out. he would murder that white mutha fucka in the ring. It was that sorta racists shit ya know...not horrible but bad enough. If your not used to hyper violent cheaters who mad cause they lose to a black guy. after he fucked them up tho, i guess his cousin ended that shit too bobby brown. he used to be the meanest damn one at his competitions. that nigga michael i saw beat like 20 of them black belts in a row before they finally said he murdered somebody. then he quickly got out of that business into movies. he has impossible records to still be beaten in karate. my dad said asians aint gonna even let americans see this nigga. hell nah they dont let anybody see that shit...i took karate to find out. nah they dont fuck with him either, my teacher said hes a fucking beast straight to my face. so u gonna play god and demand some shit from michael jai white and all of white belts in karate saw the same shit the black belts them. him clearly too fucking strong and a murderer in the ring...nobody wants to fuck with this dude man. lol yall didn't know his career had stories like this? hell yea u gotta watch the documentary on here about african american athletes he in. theres crazy stories about who he beatup in hollywood, or wouldnt fight him. shit half the wwe wouldnt fight this nigga. hes got crazy stories man, he knows everything about fighting. they covered it all up though when he left competitions. typical racism. you didnt know that what karate was for this dude. if u go to a black karate studio they will school you. its a murderous business they always said...all the way down they travel to brazil to train. i seen some. real buff quiet dudes.

Same time he was in Walker texas ranger is when Wesley Snipes stopped competing. Wesley definitely is a striker, but he was deadly in the ring when he made the movie "demolition man". He was the brick breaker type, he set a record in it. Old tough american karate master, no one messed with him at tournaments. Lee Jun they say in this country america taught all them slightly. He competed so much they said it formed major scars on his face, then he passed away. But because those fighters are winners it's hard to find there material. A young blonde was on vacation in the depths of Louisiana. She wanted to buy a pair of genuine alligator shoes, but was very reluctant to pay the high prices the local vendors were asking. After becoming very frustrated with the “no haggle” attitude of one of the shopkeepers, the blonde shouted: Maybe I’ll just go out and catch my own alligator so I can get a pair of shoes at a reasonable price! The shopkeeper said: By all means, be my guest. Maybe you’ll luck out and catch yourself a big one! Determined, the blonde turned and headed for the swamps, set on catching herself an alligator Later in the day, the shopkeeper was driving home, when he spotted the young woman standing waist deep in the water, shotgun in hand. Just then, he saw a huge 9-foot alligator swimming quickly toward her. She took aim, killed the creature, and with a great deal of effort hauled it on to the swamp bank. Lying nearby were several more of the dead creatures. The shopkeeper watched in amazement. The blonde flipps the alligator on its back and shouts out her frustration: Damn it, this one isn’t wearing any shoes either! PLEASE 1 SUB IF U LIKED

I’m pretty sure MJW has been a martial artist since he was seven and has a black belt in seven fighting systems. I would think he can fight. Especially since most martial systems use sparring as a way to develop practical combat skills from knowledge gained. And if his focus was/is kyokushin Karate then sparring is heavily leaned upon in the advancement of the student if I’m not mistaken
