Hollywood on Parade was a series of short subjects produced by Paramount Pictures between 1932 and 1934. They showcased the studio's stars both in newsreel-type footage (glimpses of Hollywood figures at premieres, parties, the races, etc.) and in new material such as sketches or musical numbers. The print quality of these isn't the greatest, but nevertheless there's some interesting stuff here. Also note that there's a numbering system associated with these shorts, but because some of the information I've found is conflicting and confusing, I just made up my own numbers to differentiate between them.
In this installment, Eddie Borden plays a mail carrier. He first visits Richard Arlen's house and delivers some letters to Dick and his wife. We also meet their baby and dog. Next, Eddie delivers a package, which we learn contains a puppy, to Mary Pickford. She gives him a lift to the studio and they hear Bing Crosby sing "Down the Old Ox Road" on her car radio. Naturally when they arrive at the studio Mary runs into Bing and they have a brief conversation. Meanwhile, Eddie visits Tom Mix, who is apparently going on a world's tour, to say goodbye to him.

LOL... 01:26 Arlen's wife brings out the baby: "Well, here IT is!" Does Arlen stay with the baby? No, he goes swimming with his dog...

I feel sorry for Mary Pickford's poor dog sent all the way from China. "He looks thirsty" ; "Oh, I'll give him a drink as soon as I get to the Studio"... lol.. Poor puppy.... Hey, he's only been in that box for 15 days what's another hour or two....

The mailman seems to have a thing for water. 'Dog looks thirsty; and " I imagine you'll be taking lots of nice cold water on your trip".. He must have had a premonition about the state of things now. Got to pay 2 bucks for a bottle of water these days.. Can't just dip it from the local spring like we did in the old days..

This should be the short A5, i suppose ? This series are being sell on the web, this was most likely a false copyright complain from youtube. It is absurd that they force to delete a PD movie. And about the music, if it part of the short, it is _also_ in PD. RU-vid should really start to pay more attention to false copyrighjt claims.

I see. I really like those. Too bad there is no portuguese dubbing for them. I don´t remember it is being released in Brazil. One short that i´m looking for is "the big idea" with Ted Healy, and also others from this period of the stooges. I`m quite finishing completing their filmography. The next shorts i´ll start searching are their solo ones. Btw, i wanna thank your work on keeping alive those shorts. From a cultural point of view they are extraordinary.

It's not a movie... They're part of a series of short subjects. The fourth one I uploaded had musical performances by Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald, and I imagine that's what got it blocked.

Btw...I have a question. On the short B9 (the 3 stooges), the starting credits starts with A2, why is that ? Was it edited with another starting credits or it is, in fact, A2 and not B9 ?

@unclepup Hey, that's true, this would be a year or so after she retired, wouldn't it? I wouldn't know about Mary's car, haha, thanks for the info. And I'm really glad you enjoyed this! :)

*shrug* A lot of these were reedited and rereleased. Don't know about the numbering system - that's why I made up my own numbers to distinguish between them.
