Holmfirth Yorkshire | LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 

I've watched the whole series so many times I've lost count. I love it!!! None of the tours I've watched has gone past Norman Clegg's, and Howard and Pearl's houses. I wonder why.

Great video I been to holmfirth two times lovely famous town amazing last of the summer wine start in 1973 till 2010 them stairs so famous as enter sids cafe loved seeing Nora steps get of me steps 😂 you get some brush 😂 and I went to last of the summer wine museum inside Compo house loved it 😊

Love to visit there I was a fan of last of the summer wine I still watch it best programed ever made

We visited Holmfirth twice in 2015 when we were living in York for a year. Last of the Summer Wine was a favourite of ours in New Zealand so it was great to visit and see familiar landmarks like Compo’s basement flat, Nora Batty’s house, Sid’s cafe etc. we went on a small bus to see the dales and hear and see the history of the region. On the second trip we went to the Hippodrome to the Alabama 3 concert - one of the best concerts I’ve been to. Holmfirth is well recommended as a destination. It hasn’t lost its charm and harks back to somewhat simpler and gentler times.

I enjoyed that thanks. I have watched several walk abouts of Holmfirth but none have ever shown the places where they lived. Like where Clegg lived , then the 2 places he and Howard were neighbors. If you do get back could look for these places? Thanks

There used to be a pig farm just outside of the town which had a big sign up saying ‘We sell owt bah squeak’. Very amusing. Xx
