FLIGHT CHOPS DISCLAIMER:
I am a "weekend warrior" private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 15 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve.... Having the GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.

I certainly would recommend EAA's SportAir Van's RV Assembly workshop. I just did it. Gets you comfortable with reading Van’s instructions and riveting. Next one is at Oshkosh! The spots go fast.

Kinda lucky to have access to the massive hangar and expertise - understatement of the year...

I really like changing the thumbnail instead of splitting into multiple channels. I think it's way better than having multiple channels, it's really clear at a glance what I want to see or not.

You are fortunate to have people helping you especially the mentors. There are many builders who give up after three years into the project because a single person's progress is so slow which results in interest lost. Lot's of started kits are on the for sale sites with semi finished stabs, wings. Good Luck

I was a sub-assember at Hamilton Aerospace, NZ, late seventies building topdressers and prop-driven NZ Airforce trainer. This bought back amazing old memories. Learn to love rivets. Burford knows :-) Will follow with interest

The similarities of building a kit plane and an R/C plane may surprise you.

Steve, you should never worry or apologize about the nerdy deep dive. That is the why we are here! If anyone does not want this they have the option turn it off (shame on them). I want the nerdy deep dive! I’m only an RC pilot, and RC plane builder. But I love your stuff!

This is a compliment to your personality and ability to draw people to you. Some may be envious/jealous but to bring together a team of people that desire to help build your airplane is amazing and you are blessed to have those experts on your team! Press On!

Flight sim pilot here, currently working on my Private. For your flight sim set up I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend a Track IR set up. It's super easy and intuitive, and it sure as hell beats looking around with the china mans hat on the yoke. Not related to the build but I just saw the short segment on your set up and figured I'd recommend you something that helped me out SO much

I purchased the full plans for the RV4 back in 1990.

I can appreciate what you are going through having built an rv 7a with my brother and finished a partially built rv4 for myself. It's a wonderful process I hope you enjoy it. Wish I could help the project.

Very fortunate to have a team to assist you. Having recently completed a -10 QB the entire process can be brutal! Good luck.

Casually opening a crate in front of a P-80 shooting star.... Damn, I would be drooling on all those warbirds and not getting a thing done in that hangar.
