I have been fishing a variation of this pattern for over 20yrs. I use it as a dropper behind a Stimulator. It is my "go to" nymph as a dropper and it has worked very well on streams from Arizona to Wyoming.
I've been watching the best fly tyers for years and I would say you belong in the company of the top five I've seen - very neat, cleanly executed and well thought out.
Great video . Thanks for showing that some times things like the hackle slips but can be saved . I wish the rivers weren’t so low 😒 but looking forward to fish this pattern. Thanks!
Good tip about the couple of thread wraps behind the rib. I sometimes have difficulty getting the first wrap to lay right. Thanks. Regards from the UK.
I've been tying pretty seriously over the past 1 1/2 years and I'm extremely impressed with the end product of all your tutorial videos. At the basic level, you're doing the same thing as everyone else, placing materials on a hook one at a time. However, the flies that come off your vice really stand out among the other popular tiers out there. Perfect example of how tying is art.
Nicely done , my only criticism would be how you crossed the thread under the bead leaving it vulnerable to fish teeth. Crossing the thread over the top of the bead would result in it being protected by the UV resin and shell back cover.
Oh me gorsh! I can’t keep watching all these tying videos and adding the ones I like to my want it list! It’s getting tooooooo long! lol Nice tie though dude. I have added this one to the list! lol
Nice work my question is before the video even started there was a picture of a brown colored Caddis pupa beautiful tie real buggy can you give me any information on that pattern and materials thank you
