I feel like you are a classic French woman with perfect skin and red lips. I really like your content and voiceover even I have problematic skin and enjoy colours on my face.
My favourite beauty videos, although I’ll admit I still watch other beauty gurus I end up skipping half of their videos as why do I need a 20 minute video to hear them talk about like 3 products when it could be a five minute video, your videos are so precise and to the point it’s such a refreshing change
Thank you so much Eliza! Really appreciate that ☺️ I love a good long video too but sometimes I look at the description box and can't believe they've only covered so few products too! x
I love this video, I also like your longer vids. You always make me want to splurge on the luxury brands because your style just screams classic and sophisticated.
Thank you so much Tracy! My personal style certainly favours high end brands but you definitely don't need to splurge on them to achieve a simple, minimal look like I always go for ☺️ x
oh yeah definitely. I think I'm getting to a point in my life where the simplistic makeup looks are the most appealing and as a Make up artist it's hard to not add a million products to the list to add to my cart. lol. It's hard being makeup and skincare obsessed. x
I can watch your videos and never get bored. You are literally the only youtuber that keeps it nice, simple and easy to watch, like I still can't get over it. Thanks a lot from all of your subscribers; including me!!
I used to use the "Chanel Le Volume de Chanel" mascara, but the Rimmel Waterproof mascara does the exact same job. If anything Rimmel works better for me... Loved your collection. I would use it all!
Matilda! I bought the Chanel blush stick after you raved about it! They have it available in the states at Nordstrom, not sure if they ship internationally but it most def is available!
Yes Iris, I've seen them on there! When I first heard they'd been discontinued I honestly had 6 in my Nordstrom shopping cart 😂 So glad it will be coming back more widely! x
I would love to! I've heard great things about a lot of brands but haven't been able to find them in Australia yet. Hope to visit Asia again soon and get to try some products in person! Any particular brands you recommend? x
Hi Matilda, I would like to recommend some Korean brands I love! Concealer/base: Clio (their concealers are amazing!) BB cushion: Sulwhasoo, Laneige, IOPE, Corsx Lips: Peripera (their liptints are a must-try!), Laneige, Etude house, 3ce Eyeshadows: Etude house, Helmish, 3ce
Matilda Japanese brand definitely worth a try! Covermark and Twanty have great foundation, almost tinted moisturiser feeling but covers nicely. Shu Uemura has the best eyebrow pencil. Cannake has award winning cream cheek color. Excel has wonderful eyeshadow quads. The last two are drugstore items. These are the Brands I have tried and love. Another two ones I really wish to try but never got a chance are Three and RMK. Both have great blushes. One Chinese brand I would recommend is mgpin, created by the best Chinese makeup artist. Hope it helps ~
Loved it! For me, holy grail products = - NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Yogurt and Iced Mocha (need to try rust and bronze!) - Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer - I don't wear foundation often but I still use this every day as an extra shot of hydration before any makeup - Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in Honey - I think I've actually repurchased this 5+ times. I first bought it in middle school when Revlon was doing a partnership with the Twilight movies and it was called the "just bitten" balm stain but it's such a beautiful color, and totally mindless to toss on.
Thanks for sharing your favourites Megan! 👍🏼 Love the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Iced Mocha. That Smashbox Primer reminds me of Allana Davison, she raves about it! x
Marie you know, it's kind of an enigma! I thought it was super cool toned and silvery until I compared it to others in my collection. I'd say it's a bronze, but a cool-toned one at that. If that makes any sense? Its beautiful though, I use it all the time all over the lids on lazy days when I want to look somewhat put together 😅
😁 Maybe it's more neutral ? I couldn't tell by swatches online that's why I asked you. It looks really nice anyway, thank you for answering my question 👍😊
I just came across your channel and boy am I in love! Been binge watching all your videos. I'm super simple with makeup and been in a bit of a makeup rut using the same products again and again. But after watching your videos, I'm so excited to start playing around with colours again :) Thanks for the brilliant content! x
Thank you so much Helen! So nice to hear. Believe it or not, I'm super simple with my makeup application too, I just can't resist having options to play with! ☺️ x
New subscriber - Your channel is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! I love the style and products featured, (ps I agree Le Volume is my ride or die) keep it up girl ☺️
mascara is the bane of my life i can nEVER get one to give volume and length but not make my eyelashes look like spiders!! they always end up far too crunchy adn stiff so i will be trying le volume de chanel as soon as i can xx
My Holy Grail products are Ponds bb cream , Jordana lip liner in bronze , golden rose dream eyes eye liner in ocean blue and Meril sweet orange hydrateting lip gel
Oh my goodness! I am obsessed with your channel! I love all of your videos,(and though I can’t afford half of the product that you use) I love them all!
I love Perricone MD no highlighter highlighter. Very natural and subtle glow. Also the Charlotte Tilbury bronze and glow duo is great. I also love the glossier boy Brow and sugar plum.
I get a lot of requests to show my makeup collection but unfortunately it's not something I'm comfortable filming - I just prefer to make concise reviews based on a concept or theme. I don't have a vanity or beauty room either! No fancy storage, just tucked away in bathroom drawers 👍 x
I'll be joining the chorus of others, and popped over from Liv's newest video - really do love how you're behind the camera, and focusing entirely on the products! Not sure why I've never seen a beauty channel take this approach but it is awesome; glad Liv mentioned you!! 🌹🌹
Thank you so so much Rosa! So nice to hear that you enjoy this style. I love making it all about the products, not about me! Very grateful that Liv mentioned my channel ☺️ x
Yes Maggie, ordered them all as soon as they launched! Luckily had some credit so I didn't break my no buy 😉 They'll take 3-4 weeks to get to me but I'll review them ASAP x
😍 Great eyeshadow selection & great French accent, of course 😉 I think I need the Boy Brow from Glossier 😊 My HG are Mac Pro Longwear concealer, Mac eye brows in Stud, Mac Amplified lipstick in Fast Play, Maybelline Color Tattoo in On & On Bronze and Dior Iconic Overcurl mascara. I almost forgot The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer ❤️😘❤️
I give up my no buy challenge by of the stressful work and ordered the Chanel quad, and recently I’ve been obsessed with Hakuhodo brushes and Mac face and body.
Matilda the quad arrived today. LOVE IT!! Perfect for a bronzed skin to create a “oh no I‘m stuck on this tropical island with a soft red somky eye” look 😆
Came over from LivLovesHerMakeup!! Love the aesthetic of your channel (and I saw you’ve visited Pump House!! I went to see that on the way over to their other holiday home in Strahan!) can’t wait to binge on your videos haha!
Oh wow, so blown away to see that Liv mentioned me in a video! So kind of her ☺️ Thank you so much for coming over to say hi Arna! Such a small world that you've seen Pumphouse too x
Ooh no, do you mean the two-toned stick blushes or the liquid with the little applicator almost like a gloss? Love the look of both, I've swatched them a few times but kept them on my wishlist for another time! x
Nicely done! My mind is racing with possibilities, so fun! You are truly gifted with your editing powers, LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! ♥️ Because I work in a very conservative industry and have what’s considered an officer level position, my makeup during the week is very different from what I wear on the weekends. So during the week, it’s either Giorgio Armani’s power fabric or Estée Lauder’s double wear foundation(s). I can’t be without Trish McEvoy’s Eye Base to hold my Bobbi Brown eye shadows in place (all-day & evening long) in Bone, Taupe and Mahogany. Or, it’s one of NARS single eye shadows in either New York or Sophia. Cle’ de peau’s concealer for spots and for brightening I use Tom Ford’s illuminating highlight pen and Charlotte Tilbury’s powder to finish the look of (hopefully) a polished looking face. For cheeks it’s either NARS Sin or Clinique’s cheek pop in Heather and for lips it used to be Charlotte Tilbury’s Very Victoria, but for the last several months it’s been Bobbi Brown’s lipstick (any formula) in Blush, or Giorgio Armani’s (red tubes) in #103 & 104. Weekends I go much lighter and play with color and textures! 💋
Love this long list Gretchen, thank you so much for sharing! Feel like I might have to go shopping for some of those recommendations when my 'no buy' finishes 😉 x
Good to know about the Chanel tinted moisturizer ... I've never tried it and I don't wear foundation either. Another good suggestion is the Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream - that's really nice as well and what I use.
Bet I'd love the Burberry BB cream, such a big fan of their products! The Chanel Les Beiges fluid I love is really more of a glowy base that most people would put under their foundation, but because I love next-to-no coverage it's perfect ☺️ x
A lot of these holy grail products won't have changed at all Jen! I have a lot of long-term love for some products haha, but other favourites certainly go month to month because I love to play with new things ☺️👍 x
Everytime I think of trying a drugstore brand, I remind myself that high end brands give me more satisfaction with regards to quality. And why compromise on quality, this life is precious:-) Chanel and Tom Ford would be my go to brands even if that means I have to wait longer:-) Xoxo
My holy grail products are: Mascara: Le volume de Chanel Lipsticks is soooo hard but I have 3 lipsticks that I will continuously repurchase until I die and those are: Chanel Rouge allure velvet 38 La fascinante Estée Lauder Pure color envy 450 Insolent plum Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry Eyeshadow palette: Marc Jacobs 206 The Lolita And I since I’m a very pale girl (Sweden represents) I always have to mix in white foundations with every foundation and concealer I buy. So my favourite foundation mixer is: Illamasqua Skin base Fond de teint SB 01 I’m still trying to find my favourite everything else 😂
I just found your video. Fresh and informative. Lovely products you're sharing. I'm always looking for a moisturizing lipstick that lasts. I've taken a photo of your product suggestions to have on hand when out and about purchasing new treats! Yes I'm subscribed now.
Thank you so much! I shouldn't leave you hanging all week so I will say that it's just some new shades from an existing product line. I was so lucky to be sent some to try 😱 See you next weekend! x
Absolutely, they're definitely my favourite beauty brand! I've been using their products for a decade and continue to be impressed by their new releases. Thank you for watching! x
Easily, the catrice liquid camouflage concealer, borjouis healthy mix serum foundation, and hourglass blush in dim infusion. Only seems to show up on ghostly pale skin, but just gives a peachy glow with no effort. Its the only thing that makes me look alive in the grey Irish winter!
Oh lovely, thank you for sharing! 😘 That Hourglass blush sounds delightful, I only have one of their products but sounds like I might need to take another look... Which part of Ireland are you from? Loved visiting a few years ago! x
Oh lovely, hope to be able to see more of the country next time ☺️ I spent some time in Dublin, went across to Galway, the Cliffs of Moher and a bit more of County Clare and County Wicklow. Distantly Irish on one side of my family so it was so nice to visit at last! x
Ahhh, you’re the color of paper too? I might have to check this one out then! Perhaps my eternal hunt for a blush that’s not way too intense has come to an end
Thank you Patricia! Highly recommend it, it's definitely my favourite makeup brand. I've used it for about a decade now so let me know if you have any products in particular in mind and I can probably give you a mini review! x
I was thinking about foundations: either the classic vitalumiere aqua or the healthy glow gel cushion foundation. You have already done a fabulous job on covering their lipsticks. Plus I am thinking about one of the cream eyeshadows (preferably in a nice browny-taupe color).
That is very hard to pick a certain product, the ct glow beauty base. I can't remember what it is called is nice. Even Clinique moisture surge universal base, Bobbi Brown bisque concealer, mascara Clarins wonder volume, bb cream blush in pale pink, golden goddess palette by Charlotte Tilbury, sand wash pink from Bobbi Brown with ct pillow talk lip cheat. Just basic look if u couldn't take much with u. ❤❤❤❤
Matilda I know right. Btw, I love that you are replying to my comments. Sorry if the comments keep piling on, but there are so many cool things to address
Ahh another amazing video! I agree with you - I don't like foundation either. I've been considering trying the Chanel Les Beige for summer after seeing it on your channel.
Thank you Claire! I recently bought the new Chanel Les Beiges moisturising tint but haven't really tried it yet. First impression was that I prefer the discontinued healthy glow tint sadly! 😔 x
I would never swatch my Cle de Peau Ivory Concealer Lol... Its way too coveted, precious, and expensive.. lol I absolutely love, love love it! Its my Holy Grail concealer as well. Definitely the best! ; ) I really love and enjoy your videos so much! You have turned me on to so many new beauty products and purchases. I would love for you to do a Lana Del Rey makeup bag video. Maybe that could be a good idea for a future video? Take Care, and keep up the great work and awesome videos! xx
Thank you so much Tania! Love making them unfortunately I've had to back off my uploads to 1-2 videos per week because my real life has been crazy busy, but I have a lot of celebs on my list 👍🏼 I'd make a celebrity makeup bag video five days a week if I could! x
Matilda, I've only recently seen your videos and I love them so much, so quick and informative, which is a nice change of pace. I was wondering have you tried anything from the Trinny London range?
Thank you so much Tara! So glad to hear you enjoy this style. No unfortunately I haven't tried any Trinny products yet but really want to! Hoping to be in the UK this year so I'll definitely stock up. I used to shop in the same Zara as Trinny in London, she's hilarious 😂 x
Aw that's so cool! I actually haven't tried any of her products myself, but I felt like I had to ask. Anyway, much love from Ireland, if you have a chance pop over to us when you're in the UK :)
Thank you Tara! Which part of Ireland are you from? I visited Dublin and a few of the counties a few years ago and absolutely loved it 👌🏼 I'm distantly Irish so it was lovely to be there! x
I love your direct style and I’m looking forward to more celebrity makeup bags and your makeup routine in the future! I’d be happy to share my holy grail products, because I love makeup & I come from the southeast (Philippines) so maybe some eastern makeup perspective can be interesting... hopefully hahah :) Base: I love B.B. creams and CC creams... in a cushion. I’m currently using Peripera Ink Cushion. Full coverage but very skin-like and light in texture. This is a korean brand, and korean makeup product are a craze here. Brows: I also love brow gels. We don’t have glossier, but I use the Maybelline Fiber Volumizer in deep brown. It fills in sparseness & tames the brows in place Eyes: I don’t use eyeshadow & I don’t have a holy grail eyeliner yet. Still exploring. But I love the Lancôme Hypnose Drama mascara & the Peripera Ink Color Cara. They give volume and they are able to hold a curl Cheeks: Happy Skin is a Filipino brand, but had a collab with Disney at one point. I love their Enchanted Rose Illuminated Mesh Blush. It’s liquid blush in a cushion. Very hydrating & pigmented. And its packaging is inspired by Beauty & the Beast with Enchanted rose in the middle :) Lipstick: really hard. But in the Philippines, I love Happy Skin & Blk Cosmetics and both ship internationally. I stick to rosy colors. So for Happy Skin, I am in love with the Disney Princess Liquid Lipstick in the Shade Cinderella. Dark Mauve and rosy color. Extremely matte, but very comfy to wear. But Happy Skin has a very wide range of moisturizing lipsticks of different shades, as well as other products that are meant to be gentle to the skin In BLK, my go-to colors are charming (lighter version of Cinderella but more pink), and Bubbly (a dark rosy color). They’re bullet lipsticks, but they fade in a lip tint like finish and that’s great cuz they don’t turn your lips into prunes. ;) My go-to nude lipstick is Revlon’s super lustrous lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon. Very sheer and light like a balm :) Finally I use facial mist. I use Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner Mist. A korean brand and product
Wow thank you so much for sharing your holy grail products in so much detail! 👏🏼 Some great suggestions there, I'd love to be able to try some of those brands if I visit the Phillipines x
Hey Matilda! Just love your videos, such a unique style. I really love it. Again, loving your manicure and I see you’re an Essie girl like myself. I’m a lipstick addict. My TF and Bésame collections are growing. Uh oh esp for TF! Also foundation. Happen to love Koh Gen Do moisturizing foundation. Just sublime! Have you ever tried it.? Is there some reason you don’t use foundation? I know, your Skin must be Perfect! Also love Sephora’s gel-cream concealer and brighter . Light with good coverage and great price point. Anyway, I also use thermal waters and one does have to be careful of transdermal water loss when tend to be dry or dehydrated. A moisturizing mist during the day would probably be preferable from what I’ve read. However, I love those waters. They saved my skin and they’re good on cuts, burns, etc, even for oral health. Hope you have a great w/e down under. Love from the States. Blessings, Rachel ❤️😘💄🌺💝🌷🐶🐈
Hi Rachel, thank you so much for the kind words! I have my eye on my first Tom Ford lipstick and feel like it's a dangerous path to go down 😅 Because I don't wear foundation I haven't tried Koh Gen Do but I know it's a celebrity favourite, it's on ITG quite often! I just don't like seeing anything on my skin so prefer super lightweight tinted moisturisers. I take good care of my skin so like to let it show! Love thermal waters too x
YAAAASSSS!!! this made my FRIDAY! well... and my glass of red wine. went to the chanel counter the other day, sadly they're out of the rouge velvet in rouge audace (from your Top red lipstick).. on another note, well done on narrowing down your make up products!! tough task i must say ;)
Hi there, I have a drugstore favourites video that is slightly similar to this! Unfortunately I'm more drawn to high end makeup so don't have many drugstore products that are ride or die, sorry x
Thank you Evelyn! Absolutely, that formula was in my 2018 Favourites video! Still enjoying them in real life too but they haven't been on my channel much. Planning a Burberry brand review in the new year 👍 x
I'd love to Roxanne but unfortunately it's not available in Australia! Milk products are top of my Sephora shopping list next time I'm in the US, hopefully later this year ☺️ x
I just discovered Ellis Faas because of you and I don't find that much reviews about the brand. Do you have any other products ? Could you show us a little bit more about the brand ? Thaaanks !!
Thank you for watching! 😂 Yes I do, definitely my favourite beauty brand. I've been using it for a decade and keep loving the collections they release! x
