Here are some Schuco 1/64 diecast cars straight from Germany. Schuco will be coming to the US via MIJO exclusives in the near future but for now this is what is available through Schuco's website. These cars are nicely constructed and detailed.

I collect Schuco from one year ago, I was confused for a while why no one has ever talked about them 'cause a 1/64 car like Schuco with highly detailed casting, metal body metal chassis, and half price of TLV is just so joyful...The only reason that Schuco is less popular I believe is that they mainly made German cars(plus a Ferrari 458) and mostly old cars, which is cool for car guys like me but maybe not so attractive for others.

The Citroen (not in that color or with the decals) was featured in a Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only" IIRC.

When I was a kid in Mexico City, in the mid 60s, I had a number of Schco miniatures. Most common were Volkwagen Beatles and Combi, They were cast solid and painted on the outside. They had very shiny steel axles and wheels. The tires were rubber. They were beautifully built.

Really nice Schuco models. I like all of these, but especially the VW Golf GTi, the Porsche 356 and the Mercedes Benz 300SL. And i have to mention the Citroen 2CV (pronounced "de-ce-vau") as i had a real one for about 3 years and it was a really fun and easy to drive vehicle. And yes, the Mini Cooper (this old version) is a really small car in real life. In Europe, these cost about 10 to 14 euros each, depending on the model and the hobby dealer. That's one of the few times that I've seen a true scale representation of the Mini Cooper....that scale is spot on! My cousins had a few of them back in the 70's along with Mini Mokes too!

I like Schuco although i don't have many in my collection at the moment. I have ordered some of the models you showcased, like the Mini, the Mercedes-Benz and, of course, the Porsche. There is also a Unimog coming, from their "model kit" range. That should be interesting. With the brand being more readily available in the US i am hoping to add more and more to the collection. The Mijo exclusive 911 and 918 Spyder sure caught my eye.

Bumper to bumper the Mini is 3 feet, actually closer to a meter (I think) , shorter than the Beetle. So in 64 scale roughly 5/8 inches shorter give or take 1/64 inch or 2...or 3 lol.

I will add that these models were displayed on a round stand, with a peg, and covered by a half globe clear plastic half orb. They looked like jewels on display.

my uncles had a few of those Mercs decades ago and the ride was sooo smooth! the Schuco versions look awesome. ive had some of their pieces and i ordered some, the other day. they are worth the money! very well done. thx for sharing! im pumped they're going to distribute in the US, now!

I really like almost all of them . Not much on the Golf, something about that metal flake silver🤪 . My Favorite is between the Red Merc , the Defender, the Boxter & the Izetta . It’s hard to say. I really love this brand . I love the build quality 😎

first off lets all say happy birthday championdjk, dam those shuco's look sweet, love the silver VW GOLF GTI, like the mint green color on the rover looks great, gull wing benz is really nice, my family doctor had a few of those 200D benz BACK IN THE DAY, 007 citron is a cute movie car,loved Herbie the love bug as a kid lol,oh my girl friend loves mini coopers that one is really cute with the union jack logo on the roof, original mini's are super small i pulled up beside one at the gas pumps recently i have a 2004 2 door doge neon, it looked like a cadilac beside the mini cooper lol.porsche carrera is sweet, vw T3 camper looks cool,RED & BLUE PORSCHE are really nice.

I've got the BMW Isetta also and it is awesome. I've got the white land rover as well as a few Porsche's and an Audi R8. I really like Schucco. They make a great product. They have a couple of new Porsche's about to be released and they look incredible.

@@kylesoler4139 Agreed. Their detail is for naught if said detail is crooked and ill fitting. On a side note I wish m2 had side mirrors.

I take it the Gullwing doors don't open on the Mercedes-Benz 300SL? It looks a little nicer than the Siku version which does have opening doors but the Siku is ~1/55 scale. Plus the Siku has empty window frames on the doors. While the opening Gullwing doors are a neat feature, I'd say I prefer the Schuco version just for having "closed" door windows. I know Hot Wheels is coming out with a 300SL with opening doors but it's a RLC exclusive (out of my price range even before taking into account the $60 U.S. "Shipping and Processing" fee they charge to anyone outside of the United States), so I've already resigned myself to never owning one. ------------------------------------ I've seen many classic Volkswagen Beetles and classic Mini Coopers at Kanata Cruise Night (a weekly summer evening car show in suburban Ottawa) and, yes, the Mini Coopers are smaller than Volkswagen Beetles. I may have a photo of a real Beetle and Mini together somewhere but I'd have to check my Kanata Cruise Night archives (not something I'm able to do tonight).

out of all the tooling, i love the 991, the Defender 90 and the Merc but they are all very cool. even the Boxster (and i hate Boxsters)

Hi David, great video, also a very witty title! Love Schüco, I have some. To answer some uncertainties, the Golf GTI is not a new model, it dates back to 2016. On this website - 3inchforum.nl/index.php/topic,23799.0.html - you can find a list of everything produced so far, with the footnote that some of the 2016 recolors never made it into production, f.e. I have the red Golf GTI, but the white one was announced but never made.
