"I think that the fires of judgment did fall on the disciples...and it was a display of the firey judgment falling on the disciples, and NOTHING happening to them." That sentence gave me happy tears. So good! I appreciated this delve into the fire because I'm re-reading Acts, but couldn't pass over the fire part without wanting to look into it. Bless you

The Holy Spirit has changed me every day for the better. Sometimes I feel so useless but this is a war for our spirit and I always turn back to God. The Holy Spirit has given me the ability to see my sin for what it is. So it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially if I go back to what I used to do briefly to satisfy my flesh. The Holy Spirit is able to lovingly show me where my sins are and now he is helping me grow into the man I am in through Christ

Amen amen!! Thanks so much for sharing that! The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth- especially the truth about our Father, and about who we are in Him because of what He’s done for us. I know He will perfect the things He is doing in you brother! -Borin

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic. I never viewed the scriptures the way you described. For me, I was taught in a way to just see fire as the imagery of God. God as a burning bush, a pillar of fire, and other examples I can’t recall. I never paused and thought the Holy Spirit and fire were two different things. I am just mind blown right now. I’m sorry if I ask a lot of questions, but I am deconstructing things I’ve been taught. How does a person receive the Holy Spirit? How do you know you have it? Can you quench the spirit and it leave you? If it leaves you, can you get it back? I am happy I came across this video because I don’t really know the Holy Spirit and it might be time I explore more about it.

What an awesome comment, thanks so much! Yes, I think that the fire of God and the Holy Spirit are distinct, but I also think that scripture is very clear in one person of the Godhead being like fire, and that is God the Father. In fact, scripture says “God is a consuming fire.” But though they are One, they are still distinct. For instance, Jesus is forever under the authority of the Father. Likewise, the Holy Spirit does not speak on His own authority, but He only speaks what He hears from the Father and Jesus. As far as your questions, I think these are awesome and I might address them a little deeper in a video in the future. How to know if we have the Spirit: There are many ways that we can know that we have the Holy Spirit- some will say “speaking in tongues,” but scripture is clear that this is a gift and not all people who are filled with the Spirit speak in tongues, though we should earnestly desire that gift. In a more simple way, we see the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, which is a change to who we are fundamentally. The way we think, what we desire, our priorities, etc., get shaped by the Spirit as we walk with Him. But ultimately, “knowing” we have the Spirit is not the essence, but instead it is “believing” that we have the Spirit. Any person who believes in Jesus receives His Spirit. If we truly believe in Jesus, then we also must believe what He said about the Spirit, because the Spirit is the cornerstone of the new covenant in Christ. It might look different for different people when they receive the Spirit, but ultimately the Spirit is received when we believe in Jesus- in fact, we can only believe in Jesus because of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee of our salvation in Christ, according to Paul. Quenching, or grieving, the Spirit is possible. The Greek word used for grieve actually means “to cause deep emotional pain”. For quench, it’s “suppress”. This happens by rejecting Him as the Teacher and Authority in our lives. Paul calls the Holy Spirit Lord. He is very kind and gentle, but He brings the truth and leads us in it without shadow. He reveals the truth about God to us, and convicts us. If we choose to live as our own Lord, and do not respond in submission to His teaching and His conviction, this grieves Him. This causes Him great pain, and it suppresses the work that He is meant to do through us. The Spirit’s role is to partner with us, not force anything upon us, and so when we reject Him, He is both hurt and His work is hindered. As far as Him leaving us, there’s no New Testament scripture that indicates any such thing. There’s the prayer of David, “do not take your Spirit from me”, but this was an Old Covenant that he was living in. Again, Paul refers to the Spirit as the guarantee, or the seal, of our salvation in Christ. I have not been able to draw a conclusion that the Bible says the Spirit can actually be taken away if He is in fact the seal, but I do believe we must walk out our salvation in submission to Him. I think this has much more to do with having a genuine belief in Him. John tells us that those who fell away from the church and who lead others astray “were never really with us”. But I will admit, there’s a lot more to this particular question than I feel I can give a most effective answer to, so I hope what I’ve said so far helps! If I could add one more thing that I believe is the most important of all of this… Knowing, or another words, gaining knowledge, about the Spirit or about the scriptures is not sufficient. This is exactly why we have so many issues in the church today. So many divisions over the same sets of scriptures. It was never meant to be like that. Instead of trying to understand it, we must have faith. In this case, my encouragement to you, is to invite the Holy Spirit to teach you what cannot be taught in any other way. One of my biggest shifts was when He gave me the grace to trust Him that He is big enough to define Himself. To actually let Him break down my theology and my doctrines, and trust that He really is the Spirit of Truth and really wants to lead me into all truth, and that He is the only one sufficient to do that job. Then, I began to see Him move in my life and open things up to me like I never have before. He is trustworthy. So glad that you came across this video too, and I absolutely love the feedback and questions. This is exactly what we hope to cultivate on this channel, so thank you! -Borin

I AM the Holy Spirit from the Spirit Realm...? Yea. My name is Ashley Elaine Moore. I have withdrawn my presence from you and yours as previously stated via the telepathy you are leading my house astray with. Down forever.
