I've never considered the poetic justice of Jesus, the *rock* of ages, the cornerstone, being the millstone that will pull the unforgiven and condemned to perdition. "I am not mocked, I can be a millstone too" What a terrifying display of justice.

Man, these lyrics; music; rhythm; and even the facial expressions are downright CHILLING!! It's as if you can picture God Himself giving a review of the life of a hypocrite... and then his/her reward for such a life is His absolute WRATH and RAGE against their sin... which results in the millstone, causing him/her to "... sink. Sink. Sink. Sink..." Just... YIKES!!!!! at least, that's what I got from this song.

This song is such an epiphany to me. I always think about the love of Jesus and his forgiveness, but I never really pondered his wrath. We often forget that the God who destroyed in the old testament is the same God who loves in the New testament. His judgement and wrath will come. ‭‭ Proverbs‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short.

Man, I can’t thank you enough for this. I keep coming back to this album, especially this song. I left the church 10 years ago and SG was one of the only bands I could revisit and still get something out of. I stumbled across this recently and have found so much affinity still again. I have had to make some very hard decisions about the company I keep lately - poor leadership decisions in my spaces - and this helps keep my head above water. I keep asking for that bad faith leadership energy to sink, too. I’m not a Christian these days but I have so much respect for those that walk in integrity and are doing work some people in my corner of the world aren’t even doing. I endlessly appreciate y’all.
