Very helplful sharing of information. I kind of suspected that the 64GB card that I have in my HS720 could have been too large, because this is the case with some wildlife tracking cameras that I have. But your video confirmed this fact and I have replaced the card with a 32GB one. Thank you for having done the legwork on this problem on our behalf; your posted video has achieved your stated goal! Thanks again!
Thank you for great concise review.. Had issues with connection to the Ophelia app. Had 64gb U1 class 10 card inserted in my HS720E. Would not connect to Ophelia app.. Exhausted all connectivity issues with phone provider and then discovered that a 32gb card I had worked fine as regards connectivity.. Having looked deeper into Micro SD Cards since, I find that the specs advertised on lots of cards(write and read speeds) aren't quite as they specify. Hence I now use 64gb U3 V30 and it's working a treat... Really hope this helps all you pilots out there.. Stay Safe..
128gb will work now. I'm not sure if it is just working on the newer drones, or if a software update will allow you to use 128gb or maybe your 128gb was not minimum U3 speed and that is why it didn't work. Just wanted to let you know you might want to update your video which I loved. Very informative. Thank you!
I was using the 4K ophelia everything was working bedside saving the videos anywhere, so I changed apps like you said, Ophelia Gps app did all calibration except the one you were saying that wasn’t in the manual when I did it the Asterix started flashing fast and green lights on drone flashing, had to turn it off and back on , I can’t see the camera at all and if only got it to go on line it for a second so I lifted it off the ground and it was wanted to take off when I would let go of remote lever , when I finally got it on the ground it was running wide open when I would let go of remote, I was try to turn drone off it wouldn’t I had to flip it over at full speed, I hope it’s not ruined , what now
Sometimes when I switch on the drone it wont find any satellites. I have to either knock the GPS button off then back on again and wait, or send it up with 0 satellites locked and then bring it down again. That usually works. Another issue is when I start to fly the drone and it is already showing 7 or more satellites locked, the drone still drifts as though the GPS isn't working. I usually bring it back down then start the flight again. This usually works although it might take more than one attempt. I would have thought that once the satellites were locked then the GPS should just hold.
I have a really stupid question. After I've inserted an SD card, is there anything else I'm supposed to actually do to ensure my videos are recorded to it? I've taken my dron eout for my first flight and am viewing the videos on the app which I can save to my phone, but is there something I have to do to get the videos off of my SD card or is that automatically done? I hope that makes sense.
Can u please tell me why does my drone WiFi does not appear in my WiFi list am using a iPhone 6s but it calibrated well with the control it’s a holystone 720E
See above. Only the 720 E will write to 128 GB SD card, sad to say. You also have to format it in ExFAT and thus you only get a file under 2 GBs in size which is only 5 minutes of flight video. Fly quickly thus.
Hello, i've bought the 720e, and a SanDisk Extreme PLUS 32 GB microSDHC, i put it in my drone but in the app it is still the red cross at the sd card... Help 😅😅
What i realized is you need good amou to of GPS signals to make that work so I let the drone and mobile phone in open area and fly for sometime before trying the follow me mode
@@SSB The follow me mode actually only follows the controller and since the camera can't pan it has to turn the craft to reacquire you if you are not walking straight to the camera.
Yes, absolutely. Much better quality on the SD card. I have 14 minute recordings on my IPhone 11 Pro Max but still only 2GB files 5 minutes on the sd card to transfer to my computer or editing software. The long files I have not found out how to download to my computer as of yet, but this is only the 3rd day I flew it.
Mine does the same mate. I sometimes only get half of the photos I take on the memory card. Sometimes they end up on the app or my phone camera roll, but not always. A more common problem I have is when I am in video mode and it is recording, and I take a photo. It says photo successful, but I seem to lose the video. I thought you could take pictures as you were videoing (if that's even a word :-))
The 32GB memory card is the largest micro SD card that comes preformatted FAT32. Other folks have used larger micro SD cards (at least 128GB) successfully after reformatting them as FAT32. By standard, 64GB and larger cards come preformatted as exFAT. So if you are willing to reformat, there's no reason it shouldn't work. Note: make sure you have a high quality card with class 10/V10/U1 speed or better. The V30/U3 cards are recommended for the newer 4K camera drones. Write speed is important, especially with video. The drone uses 5GHz transmission because it has more bandwidth. However, it cannot even keep up with 2K video. That is why pictures and video saved to the phone are saved at lower resolution. Finally, note that if a SD card is found in the drone, video and pictures are stored there by default. If no card is found, pictures and video will be stored to the phone running the app, provided that it's in range.
Misleading title and the video shows us how to talk with hands. Show us the card and how you insert it in the drone and shows us the quality of the differents cards. Waste of time.
