Thanks for this video! The "mute" option in the event of a false alarm could be a remote switch that can be turned off. I don't have such a tool yet, so I'm just guessing.

Hi, I have been looking for some time now for a reliable wifi gas sensor that can be integrated with HA, should be plugged to power line to work, so no bateries please. Also it should control a gas electric valve, so if triggered, it should close the gas line of a house. Right now i have a Tuya thingie integrated in HA for allarms and a sensor that cannot be integrated, because is really old and also do not trust it anymore as the gas company said they would change them sensors every 5 years. Do you have any reccomendations on this matter?

This one matches what you're looking for. Mine is still working. It has connection for gas valve too on it to close it when gas alarm is triggered. And of course everything integrates in HA.

Hi i would like to have an Info about CNG and LPG - which one of these are in the kitchen cook stove ? thx
@BeardedTinker
@BeardedTinker 3 года назад
My heating and stove are LPG version (or at least LPG version of the sensors suits my home). You have to check with your supplier - CNG is more of Methane content, while LPG is Propane and Butane .

My gas sensor is not doing anything. I got a CNG version but now i wonder i i got the wrong one. How do i know if i use CNG or LPG. UK based.

CNG is for methane gas and LPG for propane and butane. Not 100% sure, but I do think UK is on CNG. How have you tested it? Was it calibrated first in well ventilated room?

I have the gas sensors and they work great, thanks for showing how to automate them. I am trying to find a way to automate the self test to run once a month. Have you tried that yet?

Not yet, but that's on my to do list. Not that long one that is like black hole but the one I'll probably do in a day or two😂 Thanks for the comment Carlton

There doesn't seam to be a way to trigger it, but - this could be next best thing. Get notified if sel test hasn't run. github.com/BeardedTinker/Home-Assistant_Config/commit/7fa24caefe3a868ed028ca3257d13972988ccfbd

@@BeardedTinker I found a way to run the self test but I could use some help. I created a button to do a call service and mqtt.publish the MQTT topic as listed in the Shelly docs is as follows [shellies/shellygas-/sensor/start_self_test]. Button system works for all my sensors. Now what I want is to create an automation that would trigger it to run on the first day of the the month at 08:00. Can you point me to a link that would show me how to send the mqtt publish in an automation. Again thank you for all the help, you have made my life a lot easier.

That's great. I'll have a look at this after stream today and post it here.

@@carltonwbrooks or I can do it now :D For trigger add trigger type - time, with value 08:00:00 And for condition, select template and as value template, add following: "{{ now().day == 1 }}" As action, just use mqtt.publish with topic you found.

Hi! After i configured the gas sensor shelly, can i use it in a house without internet? I really need a gas sensor in a house with old people and they don’t have internet. Hope you can help me.
@BeardedTinker

Never tried to be honest, but if you leave it in AP mode, don't setup WiFi, I think it should work. Device does t require Internet access to work.

Anyone knows if shelly gas valve work with home assistant?
@BeardedTinker
@BeardedTinker 3 года назад
Unfortunately, haven't had chance to test it yet. It's on my to do and to buy list for long time, but never was priority. I see no reason for it not to work, but also haven't seen any sensors/switches for it in the code I've browsed.
