Just ordered a Pro + model for my home horizontal tank. Was looking at making a sensor that would mount on the sight glass of the tank. This will be much easier and I won't have to mangle a project together using and ESP32 and hall effect sensors. This is a home run!!!

I believe they work natively now with esphome, and blue proxy. Also the Lippert version of the gas sensors are also supported by the same functions. We have a discord channel where we discuss Smart RV and work on things like this.

question, now that Mopeka is a native intetergration the mesurment is in inchs rather that a percentage. How would one make that convertion?
@KPeyanski
@KPeyanski Год назад
It is in my todo list as well I think I have to use a template sensor with some simple calculations inside, but I didn't had the time to play with it yet.

Thanks for this video. Is it possible to monitor LPG usage? Can HA draw a graph of the usage over time?

You are so cool!!! I can't wait to see this project come to fruition! I'm curious which smart RV door locks you have been looking into.. I came across one other YT channel in the past where a user was showing a bluetooth (if memory serves me well) RV door lock that was fully integrated into HomeAssistant, but they didn't provide any links or info because they credited a friend for doing it for them. I used the ZOOZ Multi-Relay in my smart RV project to at least automate locking and unlocking the front cabin driver and passenger electric door locks as it is fully supportive of momentary switching and also has pass-through so the original switches and alarm system/remotes could still be used as if nothing was changed.
@KPeyanski
@KPeyanski Год назад
That Bluetooth solution sounds interesting and ZOOZ Multi relay is also a very good approach. The problem with my existing lock of my RV living room area is that there is no elegant way to add electricity on the door and I'm looking at battery powered solutions. I even bought one not very bad lock from AliExpress (wafu invisible lock) with an IR remote hoping that I will be able to clone the code with an universal remote control, but no dice so far
@patricksewell2010
@patricksewell2010 Год назад
@@KPeyanski that sounds really cool!! Have you tried something like the Broadlink RM4 Pro connected to HA? I have heard it can control practically any IR or RF signal and works great with Home Assistant;)

Would this work on an unpressurized oil tank? That is also liquid so I don’t see why not…?
@KPeyanski

You better use another sensor from other video of mine - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VuHMolzT_3o.html

I am also interested in hearing an answer to quallyratchetman question about "THIS INTEGRATION NO LONGER WORKS AS OF SUMMER 2022!!!
@KPeyanski
@KPeyanski Год назад
Update your HA to 2023.2 and use the native Mopeka Integration. The Mopeka sensors should be even auto discovered...

Interesting - a bit expensive, but... I am interested for my gas-Grill with 8kg-Bottles which are exchanges regulatly. Is there any Magnet or interchangebal option to switch between different gas bottles?
@KPeyanski
@KPeyanski Год назад
Yes, there is a magnet on the sensor and you can change its location in seconds. If you have two identical tanks/bottles then you can use it without re-configuration.
@Klaus-macht-Bilder_de
@Klaus-macht-Bilder_de Год назад
@@KPeyanski thank you. I meanwhile inspected my bottles and found that they have a D 15mm balls shaped dent at the bottom center. Would it be possible to place the sensor eccentric too?
@quallyratchetman
@quallyratchetman Год назад
I went to add the integration through HACS and read this warning, "THIS INTEGRATION NO LONGER WORKS AS OF SUMMER 2022!!! Home Assistant has added native BLE support and I haven't yet written a new integration. I hope to do that soon. Follow this discussion for updates or comments. #22". Since this video has come out after summer of 2022 it must be working again?
@KPeyanski
@KPeyanski Год назад
Yes, it is still working, but there is an even better way now that is coming with the new Home Assistant 2023.2 release, as there is a native Mopeka integration that should be used instead.
@quallyratchetman
@quallyratchetman Год назад
@@KPeyanski That's Great! I guess I'll just wait a few more days to get this set up. Thanks for letting me know about the native integration.
