Be sure to update the firmware and read the HA Shelly integration instructions! If I had done that the first time, I’d have saved myself a lot of extra wasted effort.
Well done Paul, you nailed it 👍🏼 Best tool what I have found to open that backpiece is hard plastic guitar pick. It’s more gently than screw driver as it’s plastic
Thanks Paul for sharing your experience, unfortunately I wasn't able to get the connection running. Device was recognised, Integration installed, device installed ,configuration created but no entities found even with websocket configured as per instructions. Note: Shelly Integration works with shelly switch and entities were found.. Will see...
@@PaulWarrenEaton yes Paul, i did update to the newest beta 0.13.0 but nothing happened. Now I'm trying to configure MQTT but it doesn't seem to be better... will see. Thanks
Hi, Marco Having exactly the same issue. I have a lot of shelly stuff running perfectly but the H&T is recognized but I do not get any device/entities in HA. All running the latest versions. About to return the unit since I haven't found any way to get is working. (Even the shelly app itself is not working with the H&T)
Ciao, in the end you were right I had to follow the steps you've swoved and have a little patience in order to see the entities appear on the integration...Happy ending...Thanks a lot Paul
@@marcobottini1971 unfortunately the unit never worked for me, even with all the steps as shown. Even with MQTT it did not run. Returned it. Now searching for a working solution for measuring temp in my workroom.
Well done Paul!!! I keep having problems! I think it must be from the API because I don't have it working. it is necessary to activate the Home Assistant API? When I try to use appear: 401: Unauthorized
Thanks. Hmm… the only step I would suggest is to make sure you have the Shelly integration installed. The quick thing to try, if you don’t have multiple Shelly devices installed might be to try reinstall the integration. Oh! Or it could be related to the Outbound websocket setting on the Shelly Plus H&T. Is your HA running with SSL? If so you may need to change the outbound websocket configuration.
@@PaulWarrenEaton thanks!!! Yes I have the ssl working and i try already wss intead ws. it's the first shelly equipment!!! Do you have API Token active? "Long-Lived Access Tokens"?
I’ve got everything running locally so my HA runs without SSL. I’m also not connecting to HA via the REST API. The Shelly connection is via the Shelly integration. It’s the easy lazy way for me to get it all working.
Hi everyone. Do I understand correctly that Shelly Plus H&T and Shelly plug S can be paired together and this will give you the ability to control the temperature in the room?
Yes you can. Couple of ways to do it. You can manage the smart part in Home Assistant. Or you can also connect the both of them together and do it that way also. I’m not experienced in the Shelly direct way but I bet it’s easy to do with the Shelly app on a mobile. I’d probably try that approach first. But for me, I do exactly what you are suggesting but I use Home Assistant to manage the process in an automation.
