Thanks for your interesting videos . I ordered one and integrate it with Home Assistant via MQTT since the integration still not ready . so far everything is fine , it updates every change of 0.5 C. The battery life so far good and this is my big concern . If the device with new firmware will support BLE mesh , that would be a big plus for Shelly.
Thanks for the great video about the Shelly Plus H&T. I am looking for a way to measure and show humidity and temperature easily in my house and after seing your video I think the Shelly Plus H&T is the thing I been looking for. I have a Shelly Uni before and I think they will complement each other good.
I have 2 aotec multi sensors (temp, humidity, illuminance, ultraviolet, motion) which I use with Hubitat for various automations. However they do not have a display. It would be nice to put one of these where my wife could check the temperature and humidity.
Thanks for sharing the details ;) I see one problem though - the Hubitat. Ditch that and go all in Home Assistant… Just Kidding here, but you share are you happy with the Hubitat?
Haha, I love how you ask a question to make it less awkward. I do not, and I am actually looking into redoing my whole smart house. Another great video
Thanks for the nice video! Would be nice to also see temperature from other H&T on the display. For example the outside temperature together with the "local" temperature. Do you think it's possible to program it to work with ESPHome (firmware) instead?
I've just moved to our new home with my family, and we are starting to build our smart home with home assistant. This sensor would be a nice fit in the living room :)
It is impossible to get the Shelly Plus H&T connected to my Home Assistant system. I've used MQTT now and it is shown the connection in HA, but none og the sensors are visible. The "normal" Shelly H&T worked like a charm.
Yes! I use the built in temperature sensors in my Aqara motion sensors and for sensors. I can also pull temperature readings off my Broadlink universal remotes.
Isn't this already possible with mesh network type such as ZigBee? Only end device do not work also as gateways but all the other one are. I'm really debating if WiFi type iot devices are reliable as dedicated mesh one. The goal should be really to have the domotic network running flawlessly whether a internet router is installed or not in a house, or been not impacted by a router replacement /restore config. What are your thoughts?
I have seven temperature/humidity sensors. They are DHT11s and DHT22s connected to esp devices, located in my office, bedroom, bathroom, garage, attic, patio, and filament dry box.
Thanks for your videos. I’ve found them very helpful. I currently have a couple of Xiaomi Mijia bluetooth thermometers. I also have some air quality sensors that I designed to include AQI, CO2, temp, humidity, and pressure (via BME280 sensors).
I have several temperature and humidity sensors based on the BME280 module and wemos D1 mini. They work flawlessly with HA. I also use a thermometers that are built into the Xiaomi AirPurifier air filters and one Xiaomi Mijia Bluetooth Thermometer 2 which is smaller than the Shelly thermometer and less energy intensive. I'd love to test the thermometer from Shelly so I can compare them.
Thanks for the review ! Except of the temperature sensor included in my motion sensors, I have not specific smart temperature and humidity sensor. But who knows in the future 😉
Thanks Fred, I’m very happy that you like my content. Also, thanks for commenting and wish you success with the giveaway so you can get your first smart T&H sensor.
I don't have any but currently I'm in a process of renovation of my apartment so I will have a lot of smart devices. Definatelly, H&T gen 2 looks interesting. I almost bought gen1 but I'm glad that I waited. I'm looking to integrate it with a humidifier. I will have wooden floor and the heating under it so I'm looking for something to keep humidity at a constatnt level. Idea is to install the humidifier with a shelly 1 that would allow me to automate so the humidifier would power on when humidity falls under certain level.
I have several different non-display temperatures and humidity sensors around the house and am planning to replace 4 of them with screen units. The new Shelly looks like a good candidate given its Alexa and home assistant compatibility. Keep up the good work with the videos.
Hi, I currently have 4 Xiaomi BLE sensor, including one in the fridge (got to make sure the temperature is right) plus some DIY temperature sensors using ESP Home and dallas temperature sensors, two of which I use in my fish tanks (got to keep an eye on those temperatures). Next project will include some BME280 sensors that I recently purchased.
I wanted to see it in action. I do not have one yet. I want to be able to have my GA tell me the inside temp/humidity, and also to use it as a trigger device for other automation.
Thank you for this good review. I always enjoy your videos about Home Assistant and home automation in general. For now, I have several first-generation Shelly H&T sensors and this new version looks really good. I like the optional USB-C connector for power so that you don't have to buy a separate base for it. I hope I win one. :D
@@KPeyanski The ecobee is a thermostat and is wired so constant power and uses WiFi, their smaller room sensor uses a battery but it's slow to update. The ecobee provides temperature, humidity and room presence. Room presence is very slow. The Xiaomi works great reporting pressure, temperature and humidity over ZigBee though I have had one of mine have trouble connecting even though I have three ZigBee repeaters. Battery life has been pretty good.
Hi, following your videos for quite a while now… always informative and entertaining :) Got a few of Temp and Hum sensors. Build myself using BME280 modules, AHT10, DHT22 with 3D printed enclosures. Looking forward for something that looks really good. Keep up with the good work! Best.
Hi Kirill, 1st: this is great news, as I've been waiting for such an Item! 2nd: keep up the good work! Really appreciate your videos... Best regards from a Shelly enthusiast...
Like the funny video. I have 2 Hue motion / temp sensors, which were bought before I was aware of HA. I have 1 sonoff temp sensors. I do like the shelly and its large display.
I bought it and found it a bit useless for my use case. It only updates temperature every 5 minutes or every 0.5 degrees C even when powered which makes no sense. Considering my old Xiaomi sensor offers realtime temperature change I found this really poor.
@@KPeyanski Hi, thank you for asking. I bought the zexmte bluetooth usb dongle, plugged it into the PI 3, they appear in HA but when adding the bind key, I always get this message 'The provided bindkey did not work, sensor data could not be decrypted. Please check it and try again.'. So not sure what to do next. I even tried to get the bind key with the token extractor that xiaomi has.
Super add-on to a smart home. I’m using a few Aquara H&T sensors without display. The Shelly H&T sensor is a perfect expansion to extend the WiFi coverage and can be monitored and automated by Home Assistant 💪🏻
Yes, I have a bunch of Aqara H&T&Pressure zigbee sensors. Amazing for Shelly H&T work on 4 AA battery with wifi for a year. For the Aqara sensors I am changing the batteries now after 2 years so very good I think.. To be honest I would not buy a wifi H&T sensor but if I win one for free that would be acceptable LOL
I also have a home assistant setup and currently trying to figure out how to wire a shelly to a bathroom light and fan, but someone sliced the neutral wire by the switch, so that makes it harder... I'll definitely figure a way to make it work if I win this sensor - then I can turn the fan on based on humidity levels! And no, I don't currently have any smart humidity sensors in my HA setup. Стахотни видеота! Продължавай в същия дух :) Бях си купил едно шели(Plus 1PM) преди да науча че нашенците от Алтерко ги произвеждат :D Сега вече ще взимам още..
Many thanks for sharing so many details you can try with Shelly 1L which is perfect for light switches and can work without neutral. Мерси за хубавите думи. Както ти написах по-горе, разгледай Шели 1л би трябвало да ти свърши работа
No I don’t have any T&H sensor and would very much like to win the one you are giving away also because I am starting with Home Assistant right now :-)
Ciao. Boh!, davvero deluso.
Hmm, are you happy with that one? Oooh I remember this was a smart relay with additional sensor that can be plugged in the relay. Are you using the stock firmware or something else?
Worst Shelly device I have ever bought. Virtually impossible to connect to my LAN. The cloud simply will not recognise this device. No issues with any of my other Shelly devices
