Having served UB as professor for over fifteen years I feel nostalgic. It was home away from home. Nice people wonderful students and loving staff. I wish wonderful future for its people
Great video! I studied in GSS school from 1979 to 1982. My uncle DR KL Kumar served in UB for many years. Life has been amazing. Lived in Kagalagadi Way. Father served in Botswana Police from 1978 to 1990!! Long live guys and do well for the good of planet.
Because of our small population, you can't come as a foreigner with bad intentions, I mean like making dirty businesses, you are caught in a day, we are so cultured, and every motswana child knows he/she represent his family on every thing they do, so that force you to behave in public.
Hey Marcelo, u welcome to visit anytime bro... If you don mind you can contact me anytime to assist with anything if you wanna visit. I will be glad to assist.
This is a really great video. Thanks for sharing - we get to see insight from different cultures and see more of University of Botswana. If someone is reading this and thinking about studying abroad, seriously consider UB and Botswana in general. It is a wonderful place and the culture is great. Also, do yourself a favor and don't just spend time at UB. Go to the city, go to soccer games, join clubs and teams, and absolutely travel to at least to South Africa and Namibia + other countries. Take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity! Hello study abroad class of Spring 2012!
@@obakengmahlwana8239 idk but you can check on the UB website and talk to a staff member of the school. If you go to UB try your hardest to study abroad and get a job abroad - very rewarding.
I'm now in South Africa doing my Honours in Econometrics and Mcom in Financial Ecom is only offered at University of Johannesburg(In partnership with Ohio University(USA))and Stellenbosch University, So I wanted to study somewhere within Africa where they're offering it and not in my home country South Africa. I've already checked on their website buh I only saw MA in Economics
@@obakengmahlwana8239 can you study in Ohio? Would highly recommend coming to the states and even working there as long as possible. Great school- top quality academics and great paying career prospects.
Yes, the most successful being cattle farming which is supplied premium to EU. The crops maize, sorghum and sunflower have the most potential as there is a heavy import of them and the government would giddily help any who produce with the many subsidy and investment programs available. The best ones are reserved for local or co-local business though.
Yes, but as a foreign national you'd be expected to do it on a large commercial scale. Livestock production and crop production, opportunities are plenty. It doesn't necessarily have to be very far from urban settlements as one can buy or lease land from nearby freehold farms.
why do you compare? if we play a game of comparing, will have to come to the conclusion that we south africans inherited what we have from the Brits and aparthied regime whereas batswana built everything they have from tarred roads to universities and hospital themselves. stop hating.... we have a lot to learn from each other. we need to stop this south african arrogance we display everywhere. Well done Batswana, we are proud of you guys... keep the good work up and do not be intimidated by these my fellow country men (south africans)

Lots of white south africans have been relocating to Botswana and bringing their apartheid tendencies with them which have made some Botswanas the victims of racism. Hope they are careful on whom they bring in, Botswana is actually one of the few countries in africa which didn't suffer from the trauma of the intervention of white people, having good leadership like Sechele I to defeat the attacking white Boers and later good leadership like Khama III , Sebele I and Bathoen I, the Three Dikgosi, who secured the positions of a protectorate instead of a colony under the Union of South Africa or Southern Rhodesia, bitterly due to the terrible treatment of Blacks in both countries. That's why racism is a foreign concept in that region, unlike S.A which has a foundation on subjugation of the people.
