Living in a home of that time is pretty amazing, a lot of people try and re-create that in modern homes. It's a very classic architecture that never gets old & always looks pretty, esp when decorated for Christmas!
Good grief! That house brought back some memories! The "chair"🪑 with the hole in it was the toilet. We didn't have a chair, we had a "thunder mug" under the bed during the night and the outhouse out back during the day. I was glad to finally get an inside bathroom! Me and my brother used to watch the toilet flush!! What fun! LOL Before the bathroom we took baths in a wash tub on the kitchen table! Sorry for rambling on! Old memories some good some not so much. LOL Thanks for sharing JT.
Hi Mr Jawtooth, from sunny, warm Texas, that is an amazing old house, and to have 2 railroads passing by, Walton Kentucky. That CXS train was a monster, very, very nice video.
I didn’t expect the house to be so well-maintained on the inside, good to see. A great tour. Loki looked like he was sorry - just a big puppy. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
When you mentioned some weeks ago that this house was going to have this event, I was hoping you'd do a video of it!! You didn't disappoint JT!!! Fantastic video all the way 'round!!! Thank you so much for all you do and all the miles traveled to bring the rails to us!!! Until next time!!
Marvelous, its great to finally see the inside of this old beauty. Something I will never get a chance to see in person. Thank you so much for your train videos and the coverage of the locations around them.
At first, I had to laugh at the three loco's at front ALL the empty low-riders at front and ALL the double stacks at the rear commencing with the green 🟢 upper container. A very respectible house 🏠 👌 after a long day on the stagecoach, WOW ! Boy 👦 those WALĹS could talk 👄, Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 1960 Gambit and the same to Lillia, thanks J.T ❤
that house must smell like HISTORY! a smell that can't be replicated and is not a bad thing at all! What an incredible place! i'd love to come down there and see it!
Great to see the house in Walton Kentucky is having an Open House in between the tracks and glad that you had some train action on the tracks while you were there with a nice long train, also great to see the tour inside of the house at all the nice historical things there and it was really great to see it and also great to see Norfie and the Train Dogs as well of course with a recap of the video Thanks again Jaw Tooth and Thank You very much.🇺🇲🤠🐶😸🇺🇲 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Thank you for this tour of the Abner Gaines House in Walton, Kentucky, Jaw Tooth! I enjoyed the tour. I hope that if Walton, Kentucky decides to relinquish their ownership of the property that some local historical group can take over the house and continue to keep it up because of the history associated with the house. The trains were an added attraction.
What a fabulous train! I mean it was long with a spectacular variety of freight. I loved the gondolas full of ties, the plate steel and coils of wire! The double DPUs were the icing on the cake. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Man, your header said "Home Between RR Tracks", and I about broke my mouse clicking on it! I'm looking to relo, and a house between tracks would be my dream! 🤣🤣 Another excellent vid JT, good to see Gambit there too. Amazing house! It would be a full time job keeping those fireplaces going! Your firefighter genes came out with the A B C D sides description.
That house looks even more beautiful inside, kind of has an old country look and feel, and of course have rooms with a view lol. Very nice job JT. 👍🏼🚂😎
That's a cool house. Thank you for the mini tour. Great catches of the trains. Hopefully you & your family had a great Christmas and will have a Happy New Year.
The mystery is solved as to what lurks behind those doors and there's plenty of them. Definitely some good views from the second floor. That CSXT train kicked things off nicely with the seven cars of ties plus the guns with the neatly cubed scrap metal and check out the 6th and final car of plate steel where it looks like the rear wall had a termite attack but most likely was caused by shifting loads. Looks like the family had a good time thanks for the tour of a building steeped in history. Do they have a full-time painter? By the time you finish it's time to start over again!
Thanks, still even got the pets at the end. Merry Christmas, JT & family... let's make 2024 the best year so far despite what's happening all around us world-wide. _Interesting house and its stories!_
What a cool and stunning old house . Beautiful decorations. Love your history telling. Friendly folks. ❤You are so thoughtful as to not let us loose count. Counting is one of my favorite things to do. Awesome view Mr JT😊I like this old house.😊Thanks so much we enjoyed this ❤😊love those fur babies❤
After all of the times I have watched the trains passing by the front and back of the house with your vlog I had gotten that I wanted to see inside of it. Thanx to you I do not have to travel to KY now - so enjoy how you make all of the sites you visit feel so real to those of us who watch. Keep up the great work
Thanks for the tour!..very interesting, and its nice to finally see what the inside is like. They've done an incredible job restoring/ preserving it! Great video JT!..oh yeah, nice train catches too! 🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
I wanna live in that house! Trains on both sides, that has to be my dream house! Thanks for the tour of the house, and an ingenious idea how to save the count, and still let us see the NS train. Hope you had a great Christmas, and best wishes for a good new year!
Я хочу сказать тебе я люблю тебя за твою работу ведь снимать рядом с проходящим поездом это тоже не безопасно Я тебя поздравляю новым годом и рождеством.
Thanks Jaw Tooth, Gaines home, really nice, amazing it is still standing after all these years. but the location is really awesome between NS and CSX, the best of both worlds. Thanks again, Have a great day, my Friends and Scott, too.
Another great video JT and I really enjoyed the tour of the old house. Wouldn’t you love to live in that thing that would be awesome but anyway you and Scott stay safe out there and watch yawls back and to you and Scott’s family. Y’all have a happy New Year’s my friend.
That was a nice tour of that beautiful old house, thank you. And thanks for being so considerate to let us count the cars on that CSX train! lol! Wide World of Trains has no problem cutting you off if a second train comes on a different track when you were counting cars on the first train!!!🤣 That man slays me!
I love these historical videos. I found the inside looks way nicer than the outside, which I didn't expect. I found it interesting how people have to go through a room to get to another -- no hallways. And, of course, the trains were amazing.
Thanks for the film, very interesting to see inside the Gaines house and to see how well preserved in period it is. Hope you and the family had a great Christmas!
JT you finally got to see inside the gorgeous old home and saw two trains. CSX train with two DPU'S awesome miss the third one on the Norfork Southern but you got little of it nice video there JT
hello Jaw it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool thanks Jaw Friends Randy & Happy New Year's & Best in The New Year's & 2024 Jaw Thanks Friends Randy
Thanks a lot for the look around the Abner Gaines House! I first heard of it when doing my civil engineering course years ago and did some research into it as it was a very early brick built house and as such he quite a rarity in the USA. It was a real pleasure to finally get to see the inside after all this time! I often visit historic buildings here in the UK, so at 76 I enjoyed seeing a historical house over there. A real treat for me just as much as the trains which I have watched on your channel for a good few years now. I really appreciate the trackside bits on your videos as it gives a glimpse into life in your part of the world. Have a great New Year and keep the videos coming!
And many of us like to watch videos about your rail system in the UK. Your whistle blows are different from ours, and sometimes I have to figure out what an engineer means by his whistle blows. Right now I am enjoying the heritage rail videos. Have a great new year, from Brownsville, Texas, USA
Lots of the old whistle codes have changed since my footplate days 50 odd years ago but some still apply such as 2 crows (cock a doodle do!) from an assisting loco in the rear (banking loco) on being given right away by the guard (conductor) which the train engine replies to as they start away. Three short (pop) whistles to let signalman know you are clear of the running line when going into a siding or loop line. Approaching level crossings usually a long whistle. Short whistle to acknowledge right away from the guard when setting off from a station or to acknowledge a hand signal after blowing a short warning whistle approaching track workers on or near the line. Three short blasts repeated again and again if running away (failed brakes etc.) There were lots of other codes mostly to let signallers know which road you needed to go when approaching junctions or when shunting. A lot of the time since the end of steam the two tone horns were used both tones for warning of approach and a single tone for other codes, but more recently they blow much less and only use a single note as folk complain about noise pollution! Just like your no train horn grade crossings! Less need for whistles nowadays with signals controlled from miles away and use of radio in shunting. Plus less warnings required as our lines all have to be fenced and heavy fines (£1,000) for trespassing on the railways. Hope this helps you a little!
Nice looking old house and a good video of the house and the trains to always enjoy your videos and merry Christmas and happy holidays from Linton Indiana!!!!
