Awesome build one question with the exhaust set up you may be forcing exhaust air back into each engine the way they are plumbed together in line if you find you lose power might look into that.. if not awesome build…

It does do that a little but not enough to bother anything because the pipe is so much bigger. Thx for the awesome feedback

Hi very good design you put a lot of thought in the process just wondering what kind of conveyor chain you used been trying to find something that will handle the log weight and pressure thank you
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 Год назад
The main chain and log deck chain is 2100 pitch chain. 100 pitch chain with double length links. So we made regular 100 pitch sprockets with a odd number of teeth. So the whole sprocket will wear evenly. I used 1/2x3/8 flat bar for the chain to run on so it used the rollers to carry the heavy loads and still move ez

How big are each of your pumps? This is very well made... Ive always figured these could be easily automated with with a genset.
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 Год назад
On the 2 vtwin engines are 15.5 gpm each and the 13.5 hp is a 6 gpm all at 3600 rpm There is a small plc made that would automate it that runs on 12vdc from Allen Bradley.
@willcullen8415
@willcullen8415 Год назад
@@mowbetter2010 what would, in your opinion, be the hardest cycles to automate in the process?
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 Год назад
@@willcullen8415 I would only automate the return of the cylinder and probably only use a relay to do that and a limit switch. To many variables in wood to fully make it run hands free in my opinion

Great machine, would you post a link or product name for the bar oiler pump?

What did it cost to build it at 2024 price ???
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 6 месяцев назад
When I built it around 12k now with steel prices almost doubled I would be guessing 18-19k.

Why two motors , why not one bigger one ??😊
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 6 месяцев назад
Cost and hard to buy 65-70 hp gas engine with a governor. Also pump prices go way up on a stacked pump.
