I have been a drummer for years. I grew up in a house where my Dad was a drummer for 50 years. I've heard the instrument a time or two. This man has a literal drum kit in an alternate dimension that only he can see. You can't convince me otherwise.
The part that got me was when he adjusted his mike stand and my first thought was how he was drumming with one hand while he adjusted his mike stand. Then I thought "duh, he doesn't need his hands to drum".
Poor Adam on their European tour in Sweden the guys actually forgot Adam on stage so he had to spend 5 min. asking the audience for sounds they wanted him to do LOL
As it gets closer to Christmas, watch the Home Free video of Do You Hear What I Hear. It was arranged by Adam Rupp and is another Home Free masterpiece.
The man swallowed a drum kit. The shear talent that these 5 guys have is just so amazing and you will probably not see this level of talent again in our lifetime.
Adam Rupp is beyond talented. He is the quietest of the group but like all of the guys has a great sense of humor. On their RU-vid home page they each have links to their favorite Christmas songs. Adam has twenty plus versions of Little Drummer Boy on his list. 🎁🥁
Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match.
Adam was the one that started home free him and his brother his brother went solo so this is what happens you get a great group of guys with awesome sounds
Adam was a trumpet major in college and uses those techniques to make sounds on inhale and exhale. He taught himself to drum just for beatboxing and he adds to his skills every day. His castinets in Sea Shanty Medley is outrageous and can we talk about his " no-monica " ?! Lol
As a lifelong instrumentalist I should be offended by "instruments are for the weak" but....okay, I can't in good conscience agree with that but one thing's for sure, *these* guys don't need no steenking instruments and that's just fine with me. Yep, here I am, happily unneeded. Thanks for pointing that out and for another righteous reaction.
Adam said on an interview he calls himself a beat boxer because he does more than percussion. I get so excited to watch and hear him beat box. It's electrifying.
His drum track in Sea Shanty Medley was awesome! He brought damn CASTANETS! 😉👍😎 Highly recommend this one! Was done during quarantine and lots of fun 😃😁. Great reaction 😎👍❤️
My favorite part of that is when he drops the bass! 🔥🔥🔥Another you should check out is their Workin' for a living cover. His no-monica in that is mindblowing 🤯
Adam is a walking sound system 😁 world class. You have to watch one of the latest videos. He has gotten better with each passing year - as most say "a freak of nature"!
By the way, you should check out Tim's Eats..... where he does food reviews..... good lord I don't know where the man puts all the food he eats...... well, then again, it does take a lot to feed a Dragon...I should know!
I believe that's true, but if any one of them were missing from the group, it just wouldn't be Home Free. All their unique and wonderful talents and skills combined make magic.
Adam starts his day off with a breakfast of drum kits, lunches on synths, then has something more exotic for dinner ( Digeridoo, perhapse? Maybe some mixing equipment? ). I'm also sure he snacks on little things like harmonicas and, sometimes, hand puppet ducks, just for fun. Entirely not human, and I'm entirely not caring. Lol.
You are my new favorite person to watch!!!! Your reactions to Home Free are spot on!! They are amazing!!!! You will not find any group out there with the talent they possess . Try Hillbilly Bone or Go Rest High On That Mountain. They give 2 different types of songs they sing. You won't be disappointed!!!! LOVE YA!!!!!!
It's always so much fun to see reactions to this one 😁 Adam started beatboxing when they formed the group in 2000 and he has not stopped training since. So he has gotten way better since this one...
Last I heard, he prefers being called a beatboxer instead of vocal percussionist because of the myriad of other sounds he has mastered... I really, really want to go see a concert someday!!!
And just think how much better he's gotten in the last 6 years!! Another video that really shows off Adam is 'Workin For A Living'. The harmonica in that one is AMAZING! It's one of their fun ones that everyone does a great job in. I love that you call these 'gifts'. Another great reaction, thank you!
This is the best B.B version of Adam in my mind and his winning the world championship 2 times, he must have swallowed a hole Drum set.🤔🤔Thanks for your reaction. Hugs from Norway and a Fries 🫂🫂💞💞
I watched a Whiskey Therapy video where someone asked him why he never sings lead. He told them that he "isn't vocally trained (like the other 4 band members, who's singing skills are just crazy good) and his voice doesn't have the flexibility to take lead." (his words) He has studied enough to where he can "sing properly to do the harmonies and small solo bits, however." (again, his words) In my opinion, he does sing beautifully when he sings harmony and small solo parts. They all have their special sparkle. Just like when the other 4 beat box, they haven't had the years of dedicated practice that Adam has. They do a very respectable job of basic beat boxing, but no where near Adam's skills.
If you want to see how they pull of some of that magic beat when things get complicated, check out their "9 to 5 break-down". It'll blow your mind and explain a lot! ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vHYgW0f3sKE.html )
Saucey, you sure know how to put a grin on my face when you're doing Home Free reactions(they are the only ones I've yet watched from you). Not only are your words fun and funny, but your wordlessly gaping mouth says a lot, something we Fries can really relate to. Gotta love it! And gotta love Home Free. Adam Rupp is the solid foundation of the group, in my opinion.
@@Ingrid_Haendel Perhaps we should start a charity to compensate for some of the hardships Wendy and other dedicated Fries have to face for our viewing pleasure. Such a thankless, hard job…
Hahaha I love this one of Adam. Yeah it’s older but you see him so well and the sound is so good and he’s incredible! Yeah Home Free doesn’t need instruments when you have Adam! Good reaction SD!!!
I was going to watch more paranormal videos from you.... but you SPRUNG this one in on me! Yes, this is the one to start with.....then watch the others through the course of your reactions, as Adam gets better and better! I can NOT WAIT to see you react to this! Adam is "Our Freak of Nature".
And he's only gotten better and more intense. Adam is awesome. Each of these guys individually are amazing and together just fire!!! Love your reactions.
"Instruments are for the weak" 💀 I love your reactions and am so happy to see how much you appreciate the talent these guys bring. Thank you!! There is a newer drum solo that includes some of his newer talents. Adam is unreal!!
You should check out "Hillbilly Bone" and their "Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks" mashup. Fishin is an older one with Chris still in the group just to give you a taste of where they were then. Hillbilly Bone is after Chance joined the group. Oh and you must do some concerning their humor - "Butts Medley" is the most requested for humor but check out "Honey I'm Good", "How We Roll" "Champagne Taste" or "Workin' for a Livin'" . For sheer talent....well click on any of them. But for Christmas music, a must is "Do You Hear What I Hear?" arranged by Adam and it is so unique and the intricacies of the arrangement is borderline mind melting! And if you want to check out a live clip...I believe there are live version clips of all the songs you have reacted to except Brothers In Arms. You could do a comparison thing if you would like. Do the studio version then listen to the live. Just an idea.
Yep that was good, amazing and crazy how Adam can do that so well. Thanks for a terrific reaction. Not much else to say about Adam, he is just a Freak Of Nature. :)
He has an updated version. He's won world championship twice. He and his brother that is no longer in the group started Home Free 21 yrs ago. Austin joined 2013, Chance is the most recent one to join.
I watched a video done when Home Free was on the Sing Off where they pitted Adam and 2 of the other beatboxers against each other. The other 2 were extremely good. and then Adam did his bit, blew them away.
Check out the 9 to 5 live video with Beatbox Breakdown now....they all join in the beatboxing. The thing about Adam....he replicates drums to the point that an actual drummer could play along. That is the difference between Vocal Percussion and Beatboxing.
!!!!!Get there live! You won't regret it. Been to six and need the next one! Adam does 7-9 mins of this every night and it's crazy, crazy. You sit there shaking your head the whole time. The whole concert is like being at stand-up comedy show with super high-level singing talent and just plain fun! You leave soooo happy for hours after! It's incredible. I laugh remembering Shawn on The Sing Off rave about them but only concern he had was whether they would be able to hold their own with a crowd in stage. hahahahahahaha! I wonder what he thought late when he saw a show, I hope he did at least online! Take care!!
Oh, wow! You're so lucky to have seen them so many times. Soak in the awesomeness for those who haven't gotten there yet. Hope to make at least one live show before I go down for my dirt nap. lol
You must put a live show on your list!! They are unbelievable. Adam is the most talented human instrument I’ve ever seen. Keep watching. I’m so enjoying your reactions!
What a great reaction. I think you saw him use the looper at the concert you went to. But if you haven't seen the video from this year's Christmas tour....go watch it right now. I got to see them live and I nearly fell out of my chair. Who would do "Carol of the Bells" with vocal percussion? Adam, of course. Unbelievable. There are several different videos out there.
It's not exactly the same thing but he makes me think of Michael Winslow, from Police Academy movies. It's truly amazing what some people can do, it completely floors me.
Love your enthusiasm! These guys have sick skills but also incredible MUSICAL ability and instincts. You are right that they know where to use what and who to make a song live and breathe; the silly ones, the deep ones, the celebrations, the blues, the gospel, the sacred, the iconic, the country ones...if they love it they'll sing it. Thanks for the a capella battle cry, "Instruments are for the weak!". I'm definitely stealing that one.
Adam Chance can also sing bass. Again awesome reaction ❣🤗😁😁 Hillbilly bone, All about that Bass, Butts remix or for original songs....? Almost anything from their Dive Bar Saints Album.
Tim actually worked as a math teacher, I don't think he had any authority problems with his voice. If you want a really good laugh watch some of the live videos titled Story Time with Tim... Tim has a deadly sense of humor and is an amazing storyteller, some of these stories are legendary among the fans "Natemares", "Ninja Heather", "Count the bacons", "whip me", :Uncle Tim Runs His Mouth", "Green Eggs&Ham"...
Right now I am going through all your home free reactions and I love them😀. You want to hear Adam sing? Check out ' how great though art' . It is amazing and Adam sings😍
P.S. Do a lighter one next...Workin' for a Living, Cold Hard Cash for Christmas, Quaratine, Meet inthe Middle. Older ones like Butts Medley/Remix, Country Fried Pop Medley. Or their live funny bits. Or My Church or Moonshine....
I believe he's won quite a few national competitions for beatboxing. I think most modern beatboxers were directly or indirectly the godsons of Micheal Winslow, the OG awesome freak of nature.
He did the arrangement for "do you hear what I hear" & it's superbly the best I've ever heard. Please check it out. They all do AMAZING in it. No lack of Tim's bottomless bass either... 😉🥰
