You _could_ consider just talking the lowest you can while making use of the low boost of the proximity effect (i.e. an inch or so from their ear). That oughta scare the cr@p out of some people. 😉

@@jackiw7 I hear you. Thanks to guys like Tim, Avi Kaplan and Brad Roberts I'm finally accepting that I am a bass-baritone and will never be (and don't need to be) a tenor. Now I realize the actual timbre of your voice is so much more important than getting to squeeze out some notes way outside your natural range. Brad Roberts didn't even want to be the lead singer of the Crash Test Dummies because of his "weird low voice". Strange how we always covet the impossible, isn't it? (And strange how some comments clearly intended as a joke can spark a serious dialogue. 😉)

@@marcvandoornik what you said about Timbre was on point. My normal conversation voice isnt super low but singing, my voice is super resonant and comfortable from D2-D3. Josh Turner singing G3 vs me singing G3 is way different because he has such a low timbre. I almost need to sing G2 to sound the same

My wife and I had our first date going to the first run of 9 to 5 back in 1980 so this song has special meaning for us, and you, gentlemen, have knocked this cover out of the ballpark. It is now officially our 2nd favorite version of the song (you can't supplant the original Dolly). One request: next time you come thru Oregon make sure Portland is a stop (last time you went to Salem - I'm disabled and usually can't travel) and try to pick a venue large enough not to sell out in 20 minutes. Seeing you in concert is on my bucket list. Oh, and giving Rob the lead on this was pure genius. Keep it up, boys!

OMG.......I worked for lawyers for more than 30 years before I finally said enough......and gave it up......but this song was always a favorite of mine, since the clock always went beyond 5pm...but being on a weekly salary, no overtime paid, no time & 1/2 hours paid, duh.......working for lawyers was the worse, yet a very useful and knowledgeable and intake information for me to finally retire after 30 years, and doing estate planning consultations on my own, and getting my own self-employed income doing these paperwork which fall into the self counsel press documents for Canada.....but how I hated working after 5pm and no overtime pay since on salary and no benefits whatsoever...........so I started taking half Fridays here and there and since no boss around for a week or 2, then started playing pool at a local bar with half of the town's office staff, bank managers, etc...........PS.......just love you guys, and thanks for the memories of this old tune.

If you ever need a bus driver, let me know. It would be a blast. Drove for the Air Force while in Germany back in late 80s early 90s. Drove trucks and buses for last 20 years. Now drive various vehicles at the Milwaukee Veterans Affairs Hospital (VA).

You have to sign an agreement to not sniff the shirts once they're off; not even discreetly. Apparently that's a sticking point for many.

I had the privilege of seeing these guys in concert at Huntsville and their talent is surreal! From Tim's bass-quakes to Adams outstanding beat boxing solo I had an amazing night. Thank y'all for coming to Alabama and signing everything after the show. Y'all made this country boy happy! Oh yeah this ones for Chris WAR EAGLE!
