I saw Alabama live years ago at a charity show they did. They were set up in the end zone of the football field of the high school in my hometown. But that wasn't my first interaction with a member of the band...Randy Owen was related to someone I went to church with and one time he came to church with her. I nearly passed out when I met him.
Alabama is one of those groups Home Free holds in high esteem. When they actually got to sing with them in their 2021 holiday special, HF was absolutely elated.
Alabama started in 1969 & has had so many great hits over the years. Home Free is a big fan of them & they did a great tribute to this band by doing a medley of some of their most famous songs. Adam did a great job as usual with the beat boxing. Home Free has also performed live on stage with Alabama.
The group 'Alabama' that this sample is from became famous in Myrtle Beach, SC where I live. The bar where they became famous is called The Bowery, it's literally 15 minutes from where I live. You have got to listen to the amazing band 'Alabama'. My FAVORITE FAVORITE 'Alabama' song is "Feels So Right", but you can't go wrong with ANY of their songs!!!
I never new this. I have loved Alabama ever since I was a little girl (38 new), and was so sad when they quit doing shows and I never got to see live. I love their song Dance on the Blvd because of the Myrtle Beach references, remind me of going to MB every summer as a kid.
This is a medley of their songs. Alabama was all over the radio when my late husband and I were dating. We loved them. Dixieland Delight was our song. The line, Fits my life Oh so right, gets me every time. I miss that man. Maybe he's one of those angels among us.

They did a really great job picking out the songs to sing. They also have song with Alabama on stage. Actually this was back when Chris Rupp was still in the group before Adam Chance came in. Chris who started the group left in 2016 to work on his solo career and other projects. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this group.

Now you might revisit some of these songs from the original country group Alabama, I’m not a huge fan of this new country but older country is so much better.

Funny that you started singing 'Lion Sleeps Tonight' - Tim just released a solo album that's all old DoWop, including that one. IMO the best is Blue Moon, but they're all outstanding. You can find a couple on his page but those two are only on the album right now, alas.
Home Free is great I am surprised no one has turned you on to Voice Play yet. They could rival Home Free in the A Capella genera. Check 'em out. Might also want to check out Struggle Jennings and another artist Jelly Roll.
