I heard there was a new member who joined Home Free, and wanted to do some investigating. Luckily Home Free was so kind to give us this video to introduce us to Bastien!😁

The first week and they slapped him with putting him on the Grand Ol Opry stage and meeting some famous country entertainers. He had to be nervous and excited at the same time. Congrats to Bastien as the new member. I think he's fitting right in.

Bastien (Bass teen) actually sang with Home Free before they did The Sing Off. He also was in a group called 7th Ave which Chris Rupp started after he left. You can look that group up on RU-vid and hear more of him. He is an absolutely amazing singer for sure. I enjoyed watching your reaction to this video.

Yes I think it is Bass-teen although it looks like just how you said it. He sounded great at the Opry. I love that he’s almost the same height and he’s cute too. I think he’s from Michigan and grew up in New York. That’s about all I know. Good one LT!!!😃

He helped with HF years ago! In addition, he was with Chris Rupp in a band after Chris left the group. He is married to his partner Jerome and him and his husband are in a band called UpDuo and they were on the competition The Voice. Lots of talent for sure!

I got teary eyed watching this. The only thing missing is the heavy southern accent. But what a voice. But it's like when Chris left the group and Chance became their newest member ( he is no longer the newbie lol ). The Fries welcome any new member with open arms.

We were going to see them in the next couple of weeks, Austin took the early leave (you know how much I loved Austin) so im bummed that i wont be able to see him one last time, but anxious to see what Bastien brings! ❤ Hope you've been well friend!

When Adam Chance joined Home Free in 2016 he dropped his first name and went by just Chance when performing with the guys, keeping his first name when solo and with the Hound + the Fox. Now that we have a 3rd Adam in the group all three are dropping the first name. It'll now be Rupp, Chance, Bastien, Tim, and Rob. Me, I was thinking of calling him Bell-boy since his married name is Adam Bell-Bastien, but that seemed kind of tacky, don't you think.

I think it would be fun to see you react to some of Chris Rupp's 7th Ave videos with him while we are waiting for official Home Free releases. There are some really fun ones that feature Bastien. Uptown Funk and Footloose are fun, and they also did Bring Him Home.

There is video of some of their performance in Ohio. There is also sound from their Grand Ole Opry performance. Adam Bastien is from Detroit, Michigan. He was a recent contestant on the Voice as was his husband from Ohio. He was coached by Kelly Clarkson.

I’m so glad you checked this out. It is a cool way to welcome him. I’ve heard the fan cams from that first performance. Then all 3 songs from the Opry are available as an audio track. He nails all 6 of their songs I heard, and he has great energy. They are doing their first video right now. I can’t wait for that! (Bass-Teen)

You can get a look at him by watching from of the 7th Ave videos (Chris Rupp's old group). I recommend their covers of Hallelujah or Uptown Funk. And on Chris' channel there's a duet called Drinking With Me.

Totally agree with your initial assessment...we can exhale. Was bummed with Austin's announcement, am not good with change. But, Bastien has settled any trepidations I had. He ticks all the boxes. Humble, funny, gentle-spirited. Silly sense of humor (check out his recent IG post acting like a bird), he's of comparable height to the rest of HF (a thing for me), got some good dance moves, and everything I've seen him sing makes me hope HF will start leaning toward some of the genres B has done. (There's an old vid on his YT channel doing Kenny Loggins' ' Heart to Heart'...check it out.) Being he filled in with HF in its early days, he came to this with some understanding of who they are. There've already been a couple comparisons to Rob's voice but if you listen to enough of B, he's quite different and they'll need to work on figuring out the layering of the harmonies. There's an audio track from their Grand Ole Opry performance. B TOTALLY rocked 'Delta Dawn'!! Really looking forward to the new video with him which they've already recorded. 😊

To me it sounds like he'll fit right in. And from other videos and pictures he'll fit right in with their silliness, too (a very important requirement). His name is actually pronounced Basteen (not like in Sebastian). I don't know his range (yet) but if he wasn't skilled and talented he wouldn't have joined the group. As we've seen in this one he can get quite highg, though, which is probably the most important part for him being chosen as they needed a high tenor. And I'm glad that they didn't choose someone with a voice similar to Austin as Bastien's is different. It would have felt wrong and wouldn't have been fair to Adam the Third. And you should definetly react to Your Man. I've already watched it several times (and have listened to it for a while already because it's on their Crazy(er) Life CD. Though, be prepared for a lot fo red.

Everyone started out calling him Bastien, but we were soon to figure out it is pronounced as bass-teen - like a bass fish teenager. He has an Instagram post pinned on his Instagram page that he recorded after the show where he talks about his first experience performing with the guys. Now that we’ve had a glimpse of him interacting with people, I’m feeling excited about the change. I still support Austin in every way, but now the looming anticipation is done. I can’t wait to see them live! They haven’t made their way close enough to me on this tour so my fingers are crossed for the next time? Thanks L-T!

@@mcm0324 Wow, you seem to be taking Austin's leaving the group personally, and it seems like you feel this is some type of personal insult that someone else is filling the spot. No, he's not Austin, no one else, but he has his own appropriate set of skills, and what's most important is that the guys in the group seem very happy to have him there. They chose him, so by saying he can't sing, you're insulting the remaining members of the group. If it upsets you this much, then maybe it's time for you to move on from listening to Home Free.

Adam Bastien is from Detroit Michigan Bastien ( BassTeen )used to sub for one of the tenors when Home Free first started and also was a member of Chris Rupp's group 7th Ave. They filmed a video in Nashville with Bastien now we wait for it to be released. With 3 Adam’s in the group so they opted to be called by last names less confusing that way.

As I read through the comments, it looks like all your questions have been answered! I did enjoy watching your face as you first heard him sing. That was a good reaction. I feel like we’re in for quite a ride with Bastien. They already know each other, so the getting-to-know-you part is done. I’m looking forward to the sweet harmonies. There are a couple of fan videos from the first performance and as you can hear the sound quality wasn't great so I'm glad they waited till the Opry before they let us hear his voice. There are other videos of him singing with Chris Rupp and I think he's going to be a great addition to Home Free - not a replacement for Austin but a great addition in his own right. And it's eeen despite the spelling - Bastien, Chance, Rupp, Rob and Tim, or Adam, Adam, Adam and the not-Adams!
