I think you should do another reaction with Jillian seeing Can't outrun you. HF changed when Chris left and Chance joined- HF grew-We'll miss Austin but change with Bastien will encourage new growth
Time to admit it ... Chance is my favorite ! Love his quirky personality , his artistic sense , and , most of all , his oh sooooooo smooth voice ! His smile , when we get to see it , kills me ! Just don't tell the other guys !
It’s one of my favorite songs of theirs and it gives you a great “chance” to hear Chance. In the final video at the end when the guys are in that semi-circle, you’ll see Adam smile and he says the kitty is walking around his legs. So good and fun to see the boys have fun. Always horses, kitties and doggies around them. Funny to see Austin with his undulating tummy moves!!! Hahaha. 🤣🥰
That’s Abe Sward’s place. He’s their promoter or something like that. If you notice the final scene in the official video, Rupp kind of smirks at the end (which doesn’t go with the somber vibe). Turns out it was one of the cats rubbing against his leg that brought that smirk, lol.
Chance has an affinity for the more somber types of songs. That made sense for this one featuring him and directing the outcome. I love his voice and creative ideas. Thanks for Home Friday you two! ❤️🤗
I love all the boys, but Chance has my heart. And I'm sure hearing that makes him sleep SO much better. HAHA Its such a great video. And from what I read the entire concept was Chance's.
You need to re-watch the original video with Jillian. This is one of Home Free's sadder songs. Chance's voice is really suited to doing this type of song. The behind the scenes shows the guys still have fun even though this is a more serious song.
You really need to go back and let Ninja see the music video. I *think* this was filmed at Abe Sword (tour manager)'s place in Oregon, where Tim does his Oregon Getaway, but I'm not positive. It's a gorgeous property.
Ninja just needs to go ahead and watch the video on this song! It sets the tone so well for what the song is saying! And do it today and share your reaction with us! Yes definitely today while this review is fresh! I’ll watch it again! I think the song with its video is one of their best match ups! Low bass Kenneth
Chance directed Helplessly Hoping also he really likes the Black and White videos Bastien did an amazing job at The Grand Ol Opry. He said in a live stream that he had cotton mouth because he was so scared but honestly you wouldn’t have known if he didn’t say anything. The Grand Ol Opry is a very scary place to have a debut especially when it’s only your second time on stage with your group. Bastien ( Detroit ) isn’t a southern guy like Austin so he doesn’t have the twang but he got the same fun personality as the guys and I’m sure it will come out more once he’s comfortable and he was with Home Free when they first started.
I love the BTS, so thanks for this one today, Kevin. It’s one of my favorite Chance songs and watching him in action shows how committed he is to the group. Jillian, you definitely need to see the finished video. It’s so beautiful with the story done in black & white and muted tones of color. Bring tissues! It’s that good. 🎶 Cyd
Oh what a great cover (Trace Adkins)! Chance -- a versatile guy, smooth and smokey : ) I honestly thought you guys were gonna give a listen in this recording. Always encourage listening to the original -- with this one, Chance shines and it being accapella "brings it in"... the guys done fantabulous!!! : ) Be Safe *** on another note, yall spoke of the humidity here -- well, you should be feeling it there anytime now = monsoon season : )
Note to Kevin: I was in the DC area in 1972 watching the game with a group of friends. I had just moved to the area from Florida, so, of course, I was cheering for the undefeated Dolphins! I was the ONLY person cheering for them since everyone else was cheering for the local team. I had so much fun!! 😅
This is an absolutely amazing song and video. Chance did such an amazing job with this song. I enjoyed watching your reaction to this song and video. Bastien has an amazing voice for sure. I really enjoyed listening to him when he was in 7th Ave with Chris Rupp and Tristan Rupp.
I love the Vault series! Although those filming it really must feel they're herding stray cats (luckily Jimmy is one of 'em). Wildly talented, truly funny ones - but stray cats nonetheless. Chance directed this one (he also directed "Helplessly Hoping" and wrote the script for their Covid Christmas special).
This is such a very beautiful song. You have to go back and show Ninja the original video. Chance's voice is so very smooth and buttery! Love your reactions!
No, Home Free won't be the same now that Austin has left. He has a very distinctive voice is is/was my favorite in the group. I'll miss him. But I have my ticket to see them in 3 months and am heartily looking forward to hearing and meeting Bastien and welcoming him to the HF family. Home Free may sound a bit different but from the couple videos I've seen already, the group still sounds amazing.
You need to watch the video, Jillian! It’s tasteful and understated-it doesn’t detract from the song AND you’ll get the comment about the color change.
Jeremy, ya need to leave the gangsta to Rob. Hes the real gangsta. 😂😂❤❤ but we do love it & y'all! 🥰🥰 (*there's a from the vault video where Rob says he's the most handsome & best dancer. Clearly!😉🫠)
Home Free Won't be the same again but that's okay. Change can be a good thing. Austin himself said before the Sing Off they were getting a little bored. You need to shake things up (and change things) from time to time or it will get boring. I also had reservations with the fir couple of songs I heard. When I heard this last song with Bastien taking lead and not pushing to be like Austin, I was very happy. I hope he will continue to be himself because he has a wonderful voice. Thank You guys for all the work you put in and I love your reactions. Please never leave us Ninja. You two have a wonderful contrasting perspective that is fun to watch. Love Ya Both, Julia M
Hello J & J. Happy Home Friday! Love you guys. Kevin, you request the best videos! Thanks so much! I adore Austin and always will, ( love Chris Rupp also) but I still support the Home Free guys. I will definitely see them again, even without Austin. I'm sure the new guy will be great.
I think Chance also directed Helplessly Hoping, or at least came up with the concept. When I first heard that Austin was leaving I was sad and a little bit angry, but I understand his reasons for leaving and wish him well. I have seen a couple short videos with Adam Bastien, and I'm sure I will grow to love the new dynamic he brings to the group. About this change, Tim said in an interview that Adam Rupp was the only original member, the rest of them were all at one point "the new guy".
PLEASE WATCH YOUR REACTIION! This is one of my favorites by them. And the bts are the polar opposite. It's so much fun to see the two extremes. Also, yayy for another brain break!
Yet another example of herding cats - how do they ever get an entire video done? Those 5 part harmonies are killer, no matter what song they are singing. HF won't be the same - but it appears that it will still be fantastic, just from what I've heard/seen so far. The change from Chris to Chance was a bigger change than it might have appeared at first, given that he made it possible for Tim to expand his role(s). Bastien appears to have Austin's energy level, which was what I was worried about. I knew HF would pick a great vocalist.
I wish you guys would do a few Toby Kieth songs. He was an amazing person and is greatly missed. For a good laugh try Talk about me, Trailerhood, Taliban Song, As Good As I Once Was and for a tender song try My List (written right after 911) and Crash Here Tonight and Don't Let The Old Man In ( wrote this one after he found out about his cancer.
Thanks for the great suggestions, @jamanga59. I took a quick peek at the songs you mentioned. Although we have immense respect for Toby Keith's library and honor his life and accomplishments, it's very unlikely we'll react to these songs since country isn't our favorite genre (and these songs are exactly the kind we avoid (very twangy)...this is just our personal preference). Home Free has made us listen to and enjoy much more country than we ever thought, primarily because the songs aren't always twangy. We don't want to give you false hope, and very much appreciate the time you took to suggest Toby.
Hey Nancy! We have so many other sponsored song requests to get through first. We may need to do some schedule rearranging to incorporate more timely content. Thanks for the suggestion!
