Lyle from what I understand, this was Chance's project all the way. He not only took the lead, but he scripted the video & directed it too.....he's so dang talented !!!
You can really hear the heartbreak in Chances voice on this fantastic song. What a talented gentleman . The rest of the boys backed this up with wonderful harmonies. 😥
You know, we all love and are amazed by Adam when he's beatboxing (he's extraordinary) but when they do these 5 part harmonies ...I just can't. Love them so much and love you too Lyle, keep it up
I defy anyone to argue that there isn't magic in the world. These five guys generate such joy and beauty when they perform and put it out into the world that they create magic. Yet again, they created magic. So beautiful. Chance was wonderful in this. I love your reactions because you "get" Home Free and why they are so loved. Thanks for that!
Just love it when Chance takes the lead ... he's so good ! These guys are all uniquely talented but I really feel they were meant to be together ... they are perfection !
This is one of Home Free's sadder songs. Chance's voice is really suited to doing this type of song. I like the video too, where most of it is in black & white with only a few of the personal items that remind him of her are in color.
Thank you for finally doing my suggestion. This is one of my top 5 Home Free songs, showing off Chance's talent singing as well as his directing ability. This was his project all the way. Great reaction!
The lower register harmonies in this song make it all the more somber. The video is stunning with the amazing use of black and white and color. Watch it again and you will see when she is present there is color and when she is missing and missed the colors fade. Wonderful visual interpretation of a theme as well as some of the most heart stopping harmonies.
Beautiful. Like a couple others mentioned, I just now noticed 1. Chance didn't start or end the song; just looking sad; and 2. no beat boxing, so Adam was singing. Good reaction.
Lately I've thought about this song and I've concluded...she left and very recently and suddenly passed away...car accident? Perhaps...but this just exemplifies their talent
Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite HF's covers and videos. It is equally as stunning as "Helplessly Hoping" or other 5-part harmony songs, just not often reacted to (the same is true for "What we ain't got")
I've seen on other reactions that Trace Adkins wrote this about his divorce to his wife? Not sure. But this was a phenomenal job by Chance the the Home Free team.
This is gorgeous. I've seen it many, many times but this is the first time I realized that there's no vocal percussion in this one. I don't know who did the arrangement, but both they and Chance did a great job. Near the beginning the lyrics talk about people asking him where she is now, so I'm assuming just out of his life, not out of this life. Your reaction was great to see.
I’ve always considered myself articulate, but I can’t find the words that accurately describe the emotions these harmonies invoked. These guys just keep getting better, if that’s possible. And your reaction was great
It is a beautiful and haunting cover! Chance’s lead was stunning and the harmonies were perfection! You pointed out something I’ve never noticed, even though I’ve seen it many, many times. I never noticed that Chance was not singing with the group at the beginning. Interesting! Loved your reaction and your appreciation for these guys! Feel better soon!
Sorry to see you're still ailing, Lyle :( Was so happy to receive notification of your doing a reaction to this. THANK YOU! I was one of those who'd recently requested you have a look-see at this touching video. Definitely pulls at the heart strings. Major kudos to Chance for not only the vocals but his ideas and direction on this amazing production. Feel better soon!
Somehow the only songs that made me really cry by Home Free are led by Chance. He has so much emotion in his tone. Chance directed this video too. When he was with Street Corner Symphony he directed nearly all of their videos.
I'm so glad you finally did this one...one of my favorites. Chance's voice is amazing. and this hits close to home regarding a lost love. thanks for doing this.
Trace wrote this about his divorce and so he says he didn’t think it would hurt telling you goodbye….but of course it did. This is one of my favorites of theirs….amazing arrangement and those harmonies and that bass!!! Incredible. And Chance did the video too. Everything in the present is in black and white and everything about her is in color. Love it! So glad you did too! Get better!🥰😍
If you haven't seen his reaction to Cover me up here's the link for it. If you have, thank you so much 🙂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gAUYVqBxK_4.html
Beautiful job. Chance sounded superb! The harmonies were out of this world. Loved it. I sure hope you're doing better and get rid of all the crud that goes with it. You're in my prayers Lyle 🙏🏼
Wow! I can't believe I never suggested this one as it's always been one of my top 3 since they released it. I love the song and matching video so much. Chance had the concept for this and directed it. It's so moving. So happy you chose this one today. ❤️ How about another oldie but goodie? This is a fun "live" version that I think you'll love. If I remember correctly, this is another Tim Foust original. Don't It Feel Good ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vEdVMyI2Yj0.html
Thanks for doing this, Lyle, even if I'm now sitting with tears in my eyes as always when listening to HF:s version of this. The beauty and the power... and the beautiful video. Yes, it was Chanse's idea and script. The lyric "when I wouldn't regret telling you goodbye" makes me think he ended the relationship, not that she passed away - and now everything is in black and white but the things associated with her. Amazing! Love your honest and heartfelt reactions!
First off let me say that once again Home Free has absolutely blown my mind. Their harmonies are second to none. Now having said that, I don't really care for the song itself. But the group still amazes me at what comes out of their mouths.
Some how I had also missed this one, and you are correct simply superb !!!! Maybe some of their best layering and harmonies. Thanks so much for all your reactions, I enjoy them so much.
I like that you really watch the video before commenting, and that when you do comment, they are quick and right back to the video. This is such a great song and you understand that not only does it have great harmonies, but that it tells a sad story. Thank you so much for another great reaction!
Interesting that you mentioned the vocals in Helplessly Hoping. This video as well as Helplessly are Chance led projects. Chance has an amazing voice and is multi talented as a writer and director.
Wow this was Awesome!!! I hadn't heard this one before so Thanks for sharing!!! I'm so looking forward to seeing them on Saturday night in Redding, CA which is about 2 hrs and 45 minutes from here
@@susanhorn4325 Thanks, some of my friends haven't heard them yet. I also will be reuniting with a lady I was in choir with in 8th grade so a triple cool event
This is such a beautiful song and I'm so glad that Adam Chance is singing the lead he did outstanding his vocal is so breathtaking and mesmerizing it just sucks you in...Way to go Home Free so Amazing..🏡🆓🏡🍟
Lovely reaction! Chance is so talented and versatile, I enjoy seeing people appreciate him. Please check out Uptown Funk by Street Corner Symphony, Chance was their bass back then.

He does live streams 2 or 3 times a week would love to see you there.
Lyle, just listened to this again and enjoyed your reaction even more the second time around! The harmonies are chilling and carry such emotion as the waves and layering of sound as it builds are simply stunning!!
Chance has an incredible (well, they all do) voice! If you want to see more of him, check out Yours, Dive Bar Saints, Helplessly Hoping...ugh, too many to choose from! Thank you for your reaction fellow Home Fry!
He has reacted to all three of them if you haven't seen his reaction to them here are the links, we hope you enjoy them. 🙂 Dive Bar Saints. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DsseAgzoFGU.html Helplessly Hoping. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yO-_pv0DCSo.html Yours. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RUqKeMCnRSg.html
@@elainevigil6128 yes its a. Huge catalog. All of the HF reactions arent in the same Playlist either. There is a Christmas Playlist too and a few of them are in live streams. Have fun going through his catalog
Top 5 for me. I'm beginning to realize I'm enjoying the ones where Adam sings more than some others. Cover Me Up by Chance also pulls all the strings. Trace Adkins wrote this for his first wife finding he still loved her.
I'm so glad you finally got around to catching this - I remember seeing you miss this and must have commented saying this was a must see. Just the music video on its own is incredible, without even thinking about the music - it's so good
My fav "Chance Song" so far. Glad you got to react to this one, Lyle. Btw, someone was wondering when HF was in Australia. They were there, right? Or, am I mistaken? Edit: watch the original from Trace for explanation. This one tears me up.
Home Free was is Austrailia in 2019. He saw them then 2 weeks later saw PTX. If you haven't seen his comments to the concert heres the link. You will love it. If you have watched it. Thank you so much. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hna8taK1egs.html
I love your reactions Lyle.. I hope you get a chance to listen to Adam Chance sing If I could only fly.....it's a solo just buy him with his acoustic guitar absolutely bone-chilling beautiful..
To your question about whether you've hit all the Home Free videos, I did a little research via my playlists. My Home Free list has 96 entries and I know I'm missing a few. That doesn't include any of the Christmas stuff or the From the Vault things. Then there are the Chance, Tim and Austin individual sites with their solo work and collabs. I have around 45 total there. I don't know how many Home Free reviews you've done, but I'm thinking you might be missing some. Can't wait to see you get there.
He has almost done all of the Home Free songs. He has done some from Chance, Tim, and Austin as well. I think he's done all, the Vault ones and the Home Away From Home. I think he's done all, the Christmas ones but he can't get Do You Hear What I Hear past copyrights. Ugh if you think of any let us know 🙂🙂
@@staceysmith8173 Hi! Being a little bit obsessive about this kind of thing, I had to go do some research. I really need to get a life. Ha! Anyway, I could not find these songs on the site, although it's possible I just missed some. I even found some that I'd never heard before, so I'm on that. Here they are: All On Me American Kids (I don't know this one at all) Angels We Have Heard on High California Country Christmas Ain't for the Lonely (get your tissues out) Country Fried Pop Medley Do You Hear What I hear (I can't believe he hasn't done this one yet. Spoiler: It's fabulous) Everything Will Be Okay Feelin' It From Here to the Moon and Back (I'm thinking I just missed this. He must have done it when it released.) God Blessed Texas Good Ol' Boy Good Time Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (hysterical) Hunter Hayes Medley (one of my personal favorites) I've Seen Rain on the Mississippi Delta Meant to Be O' Holy Night (early days, and gorgeous) Silent Night Sold! (hysterical) Thinking Out Loud / Let's Get It On White Christmas (a surprising take on this classic) SO..... My work here is done. Ha! Have fun discovering these - if they aren't things I just missed. Have a great day!
@@kmwwrench thanks for the list. Most of these he has done. I can send the links if you would like me to here. I'm searching for the ones I known he's done but aren't on my list. All of them aren't in the Home Free Playlist. The only one he hasn't been able to get on the channel is Do You Hear What I Hear because of copyright issues 😞
@@staceysmith8173 I suspected that some of them weren't in the playlist, but I couldn't find them with the search I was doing, either. I'll just keep poking around, but thanks for the offer.
