That music video the very first video I watched of Home Free, absolutely love them, they're my favourite a cappella group (beating Pentatonix because my musically tastes lean more country & I love how patriotic & full of love they are) I've listen to a load of their songs. I must actually put up a playlist on YT featuring my favourite Home Free songs - then people can check it out. In the past family and friends have said that music compilations I've made have been very good. I'll put together a Home Free one soon & post the link on your community page to check out. On this version of God Bless the USA - Lee is singing the song the way Austin sings it in the original Home Free cover - this version is the best version in my opinion, LG+HF+USAF=Absolute Musical Perfection x 3
Be sure to watch the Patreon video the making of god bless the USA! We talked about because of the arrangement he was able to get his breath better and add more to the performance! I love his addition of please God, please bless the USA!! Lots of behind scene moments. You love the conversation between Lee Greenwood who wrote it, And Darren Rust who produced it ! both farm boys that love their country! Nice reaction!!

It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this video I get teary every time. I agree with you about how wonderful Lee Greenwood sounded here~so powerful and passionate. He’s still got it. 🇺🇸
To all military service member past and current I'm sending you the biggest thank you. You have my utmost respect and appreciation. And to the families of said service members thank you for supporting them and for your sacrifices as well
This song gets me EVERY TIME! I get emotional just hearing the National Anthem. My grandpa served in WW1, my dad served in the Korean War, my husband served during the Gulf War and retired with 24 years in the USAF and Kansas Air National Guard, one son-in-law served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and one son-in-law is currently serving with the Kansas Air National Guard. Home Free is just a phenomenally talented group of men who loves this country and it shows. I played Home Free's version of How Great Thou Art to my dad a couple of months ago and he was in awe. He recently passed (October 23) and we played How Great Thou Art and Go Rest High On That Mountain at his service. We sent dad Home in style with Home Free.
Man this song gets me every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 time 👏🏻 and I can’t get enough of it. Thank God for our veterans, Happy Veterans Day to them and a big thank you for their service. You’re absolutely right, Travis - we need to have them in our hearts always.
Man they are something! Lee sounds great for 75! Such a good voice. All the soldiers sound great. Adam killed it with his drumming and the sound of a jet at the end. Good reaction Travis!
I'll be working but I'll try to sneak in and listen. This is such a wonderful rendition to Lee's original. He put everything he had Into this and if I remember right he said this is his favorite because he got to do it as he wanted to.
This song gets me every time. I and two of my brothers were U.S. Navy sailors. My dad was Army and I have a son, daughter and son in law in the Air Force. Seeing the Airmen/women sing this with such amazing talent brought me to tears. Thank you for this reaction and message. And thank you Lee Greenwood and the amazing Home Free for this tribute.
Once Adam drops that military snare, I'm done... this is such an awesome rendition, especially when it is with Lee Greenwood himself. The Singing Sargents are icing on the cake! Great reaction!
You are not alone in your emotional reactions! I have heard this song many times.. have seen the "making of" video and every single time, I tear up, too! Love you.. I so agree .. Vets should not only be honored on one specific day, but every day. Thanks for all you do, too!
You can just feel how proud each one of them to be an American. I can watch this over and over and will never get tired. Mr. Greenwood poured his heart into this song, from being proud as American, to being grateful by honoring those who gave their lives defending this country, and showing how much this country means to me and how much he loves and feel blessed to be living here. There is no greater way to show his love for this country than by asking God to bless this United States of America! @Home Free thank you for all you do through music and with music, to the members of the United States Air Force band, I salute you for keeping our country the greatest country in the world that it is today. God bless you and God bless the USA!!!!
Thank you! Thank you veterans and families for your sacrifices for freedom. Chris Rupp America medley is beautiful as well. This was the catalysts for HF album Land of the Free. Home Free’s 2016 version is my favorite. I listened to it countless times on July 4! This song is special to HF history. It was one of the first songs Chris Rupp arraigned after him and Adam formed Home Free in 2000. Rob auditioned for HF with this song.
What an amazing an emotinal version! I think this version was done during quarentine and everyone was in different places, what gives it even more worth, on this July they were nominated to "Most Viral Video” at the Telly Awards, I'm so proud of them for their great job and their love for their country. I love them! 🧡🧡
Lee Greenwood and Don McLean are good friends and he knew Don wanted to do something special for the anniversary of the day the music died. Lee told him to work with Home Free on it...and we all know how that worked out 😍 Lee did this song with them first and they killed this one too. I love this song and American Pie two of my faves, can't help but to sing along 💖
This song always elicits a strong emotional response from me. I was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. When I hear this it takes me back to the enlisted mans club. The memories are strong that I can still see my Brothers faces. I can taste the beer and smell the cigarette smoke. When he sings, and I'd stand up next to you, the whole group I was with(usually around 15 or 20 of my Brothers) would jump up and raise our bottles or glasses, put your arm around your buddies shoulder, tap our drinks in salute and take a big drink of whatever you had and sit down. Your reaction was awesome Travis!
My eyes "leak" every single time I watch this!😂 I'm so glad they had Lee sing it the way HE wanted to instead of how he's had to sing it for decades! This is the best version of this amazing song! Thanks to all the Veterans & God Bless You & God, Please Bless the USA! 🇺🇸
This gets me every time, I am not an American, but my heart swells when I hear this song. The voices blends into a perfect harmony and Adam just kills it with the drums. I cry and cry some more and will always cry, and I will not excuse fr the tears.
It gets me every time… Such pride and joy in our country. So much more meaningful with all the turmoil across our beloved country. A reminder of what really matters.
This is the first “real” song (not from a cartoon) that I learned all the words to. I still have a “about me” with my 6 year old handwriting listing this as My Favorite Song!!! What a great rendition!
This gives me chills and have butterflies in my belly everytime I hear this version! Lee greenwood has said that this is his favorite arrangement because he could actually sing it the way he wanted to sing it instead of the traditional way because everyone always expect him to sing it the original way! Definitely my favorite!
As an Australian we just held Remembrance Day here in Australia and this song and the wonderful USA forces who joined in has left me teary eyed as well. Such a beautiful song. Travis never apologise for showing emotion as it shows you are 'real'
@@TeaTimeWithTravis NO, thank, YOU! So many men think that we all (women, if that be their preference) expect them to be super men and impenetrable to emotion...nothing could be further from the truth! What we really WANT is to be *partners* with our male lovers - in such a way that when we say something, they *believe* us!
What you don't understand is this! I am a retired disabled veteran that the good lord allowed to come home. Every time I hear this song I wish I could stand up and go back!
They did an absolutely amazing job with this song. They have song was actually the first arranged by Chris Rupp years ago for the group. I don't know if you've watch that one. They were really excited to do it again with Lee Greenwood and The Singing Sargents. Love this collaboration a lot. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction.

Everyone keeps putting this as a Home Free song. It isnt. It's a Lee Greenwood song. He released it in 1984. When he decided tp update it he asked both the The US Air Force Band and Home Free to join him. Lee is 77 yrs old here.Oh a nd the castle in Nashville is his own home.
Home Free are amazing! Unfortunately the lyrics of the song feels almost like a slap in the face the way everything is in America today. The land of the free is a country where everyone e.g. is allowed to vote without hinderence from anyone or anything as long as you are of age and a citizen of that country. That is no longer the case in America.
