Darryl Braithwaite did an iconic cover of this song, but it was written by an American, Rickie Lee Jones who wrote it for her daughter. Thank you for reacting to Home Free's collaboration. They were great Aussie singers too. Home Free said they might be coming back down under this year, if you get the chance to see them, take it. There are so many great HF songs to explore, Colder Weather was just released and it is beautiful.

Both Travis & Amy are Aussie country singers...check them out. I would suggest next from Home Free might remedy that heat and a rea tion to Colder Weather, a cover of a great Zack Brown Band song....I think y'all would really enjoy it
HF is well known for their harmonies, and they can match almost every song and every singer. They are usually almost completely acapella, but have been known, when singing with guest singer, or if they are the guests, to use instrumental background. But, they are most famous as an acapella group. With Adam as their beatboxer, and he is one of the very best there is, many people think they are actually listening to a drum set, or even a whole band. But, it's him! This is a very nice song...
Amy Sheppard and Travis Collins are both Australian singers- songwriters Amy has a group with her siblings Emma and George called Sheppard Was filmed at Hunting Ground Studios in Moorooka Queensland, while Home Free were in Australia for CMC Rocks in March 2023
You have so many songs by Home Free to get to, I would find it hard to recommend any particular one….they have such a range and you won’t be disappointed. saw them in the UK last September….yes I am a “ Pommie” 😉

Thanks for your nice reaction. This is a beautiful song. Home Free started in my home state of Minnesota (borders Canada). It has been balmy here by Minnesota standards because we don't have any snow.😢 So, we are suffering in temps of 30-41°F this week😂. The last couple weeks were a little more normal but it could have been much colder if we had had snow. Hard to ski, snowmobile, ice fish, etc., without snow & colder temps.
It's been pretty cold here in the northern parts of the US recently, minus 30c. It's not a song, but a couple years back, HomeFree's bass, Tim, documented a wintertime trip north to where the band started in Minnesota. Called "Southerner in the Snow" it might give you a laugh and a mental break from the heat. It's not the whole band, just Tim being Tim, and some hijinks with beatboxer Adam and his daughter Cerise.
The background vocals in this one provide a particularly strong a cappella accompaniment -- you'd swear that had instruments back there! This is a captivating song -- the melody and lyrics so uplifting. Travis and Amy are getting a lot of overseas visibility by way of this amazing collaboration with Home Free. And Home Free always wins when they share a spotlight! Australia is amazing, and so are its singers and wild horses!

Do you know it’s originally written by an American Ricki Lee Jones. I know the Aussies have adopted it as their own. This was filmed in Queensland with Aussie stars Amy Shepherd and Travis Collins. This is one of the HomeFree songs where I always forget there are no instruments. Amy is fun on IG. She's living in Nashville for a bit. And is getting used to America. 😅
