Agree completely that it’s a shame people won’t give this a chance. I only discovered Home Free when watching reaction videos a few years ago. I’m not a country fan but the TALENT…their skill transcends genres. I hope people diversify their listening experiences and learn to appreciate great artists, regardless of what style of music they may think they prefer. It opens worlds.
Shakira sang this song for the movie. This was the first song that Adam Chance sang with Home Free. He replaced co-founder Chris Rupp who left to go solo. Your are right they do not get enough respect considering all the talent they are showcasing. I second Denise’s suggestion you should give their version of TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS a listen to. Home Free spent 5 years perfecting the arrangement out of respect for this iconic song. It had to be right before they recorded it. Thanks for a great reaction and you have a blessed day.
This is another perfect example of what I've always said about Adam. He can't keep himself from moving when he's beatboxing BUT when he's singing he stands almost perfectly still as if he doesn't want to draw attention to himself. He moved all the way through this song until he started singing at the end and then he damn near turned into a statue. I wish he'd realize that even though he isn't vocally trained like the others he has a naturally beautiful voice. I really wish they would find more songs where he didn't beatbox and they could talk him into taking the lead or at least part of the lead like they did in How Great Thou Art.
Talent, hard work, skills, lack of ego (they serve the music instead of trying to make the music serve them.) They are still humble and up to try new things, positive outlook on life, a true appreciation for their fans, etc. etc. etc. Their musicianship is unparalleled. That's why we Fries love them so much and are so fiercely loyal. Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion is always on point. He could show off any time he wanted to because he's that talented, but his musicality is next level. He always knows what the music needs. Their catalog of music videos is huge. They come out with new music so regularly, that unfortunately some of their best stuff gets left behind. Great reaction.
Well Chris, you can lead a horse to water.....it is a shame, cause a lot of people just won't give a cappella a chance. Love Home Free. They're masters at what they do! I'd still love to see you react to Home Free's version of "Take Me Home Country Roads". It's incredible! The guys worked on the arrangement for almost 5 years before they recorded it because they wanted to do it justice - trust me, they did more than that! 🖤🍟
Chance just wrote a sea shanty song for a new video game by Ubisoft. It is awesome and the boys performed it so well! Watch the lyrics version released with all of the game graphics. Tim and Chance dual bass. Amazing!
Home Free puts out so much fabulous music that unfortunately, a lot of their best stuff gets overlooked 🙁 It's really nice to see Chance smile--we don't get to see that too often. But I think he was happy (and maybe relieved?) his first video with his new group was going so well❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
So good to see you back with Home Free. It's been a while. This is a great song. They also just released a great trilogy of songs co-written by Austin.
Rob, Austin, and Chance to this day are known for their very tight harmonies. It’s a good omen when it’s Chance’s first recording with them. Thanks for your reaction to this. It’s a great movie (for kids)!!
Thanks for continuing to react to Home Free, they are awesome and the only group I listen to. Enough variety to keep me tuning in. Have heard them live twice & hoping for more.😊
So now I also suggest that you see the new one Skull and Bones. Written by Adam Chance of Home Free for gaming company Ubisoft for their new game coming out in August. HF vocals plus guitar by Chance and mandolin by Austin. Visuals in the video from the game. So cool that there was this opportunity to show both writing and vocal talent. And it's not country!
I think that Home Free can convey the emotion so well, especially with Happy songs. I think that's one of HF's greatest strengths. They don't need too much "show". The "simpleness" of many videos is therefore often enough. Just put them somewhere and they succeed. Their voices do the work. I love this song because all their voices come out so well here. I thought it was the first song with Chance. I think the choice to bring Chance into the group has been the best choice they could have made. He fits perfectly into the group. A really good addition. He has such a recognizable silky smooth and sexy voice. I can't really remember that he sings a piece at the same time as Tim like here. But it sure sounds great. In some songs they do sing the bassline together, which makes the bass even more penetrating. Yes, they all sang really well. This confirms to me why they are number one for me. Someone can have such a great voice, but if it doesn't really get to me, after a few songs I'll quickly turn it off. But I can really hear Home Free all day long. And what an unbelievably freaking good one that Adam is. What great vocal sounds he does here. Not normal how good. The number one beatboxer, the best of all!!!
I just love the look on your face when they hit one of the many extraodinary notes and how much you enjoy listening to them. Their covers are impressive and they are so talented, it is a pleasure listening to them - seeing your reaction is just the cherry on top. You have to listen to their versions of MAYDAY and MY CHURCH as well
Thanks for reacting to this older song. I love it. These guys are so talented. And Adam's beatboxing is awesome as usual. The song has a great message. It's okay to make mistakes if you can learn from them. I think this was Chance's first video with Home Free.
It's great that you continue to react to Home Free. My mission is to get reactors who have never heard of Home Free to react to them. Usually it takes them reacting to just one song and they are hooked, and can't wait to react to more. It seems to be working, and it makes me feel good that they enjoy Home Free so much. There's still a lot of reactors to convince, and I'll keep making suggestions to them.
Home Free refer to Darren Rust, arranger, as the sixth member of Home Free. They used to pretty much do all their own arranging but just couldn’t keep up due to touring and songwriting
Also, almost allll fan videos of them doing this live, Chance grabs a fan phone & records themselves singing this. They're jyst so much fun & love their fry fans. 😂❤❤❤❤
Truly enjoy your reaction. You make an excellent point here about a Capella void in so many lives. There is the element of engineering this type of music that seems to not make it to the masses. And then the proficient singers of Home Free, willing to do the crazy work to accomplish it with such exquisite voices.
I only discovered Home Free recently and this is the first of your reactions that YT has recommended. I proceeded to watch several of your HF reactions. Dude, I feel like the word "reaction" doesn't do your content justice. It's more of an analysis, and it's outstanding. I'm not a PTX guy, well not yet anyway, but I might circle back and watch your "analysis" of those guys. Love your detail, enthusiasm, and passion for music. I can feel it in each of the videos I've seen so far. Subscribed. And ummm... if I may, I think you'd really enjoy Home Free's cover of Helplessly Hoping.
Yep, I love their music. You don’t even miss instruments and their voices are so good. This is a cover (Shakira did it). I would love the boys to do a movie song….they’re that good. Try some other beautiful songs…Die a Happy Man, I Can’t Outrun You, Yours, and a recent trilogy that Austin (redhead) wrote called Stargazer Lilies trilogy…first song Give Me a Sign. 😍Good reaction LH!
This is a cover of Shakira, but I like this version better. It was not their version in the movie. It is the first song that Chance was on once he join, taking over for Adam Rupp's brother Chris. I am not sure why it isn't reacted to often its a great song
Home Free has been around for decades before Chance joined the group Only Adam Rupp is the sole survivor of the original group along with his brother Chris they formed the group originally.
Love this song. Glad you reacted and appreciate their harmonic perfection. "Take Me Home Country Roads" should be your next HG reaction. Really intricate and beautiful harmonies. arrangement
Very nice inciteful reaction. I'm happy you got back to Home Free. You really should react to Mayday and End Of The Road. Two of their very best. Thanks for your reaction.
These guys are one of my favorite a cappella groups. The other one is Voice Play you might like their cover of 'Nothing Else Matters'. I was introduced to them on the T.V. show the Sing Off and was thrilled to find them online.
Glad to see you back to Home Free. Only about 170 more to go. Their latest releases are definitely worth a look. It's a trilogy of songs co-written by Austin: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and MR. Fabulous.
They just released a Trilogy of original songs written by Austin called Stargazer Trilogy Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1 ) Stargazer Lilies ( Chapter 2 ) MR ( Chapter 3 ) Austin is an amazing songwriter.
Chris thanks for doing a Home Free reaction! Love when you do. It is terrible that people don't listen because they are so missing out . Their mouths would be on the floor in shock!! You really need to do MAYDAY
This became my theme song when I was wrestling with a recalcitrant computer. Spent the whole day (my birthday!) fussing with it! Played this song in an endless loop until I solved the problem. 😅😅
Glad to see you reacting to Home Free again. Over the last few weeks they released three videos that they call the Stargazer Trilogy. All of the songs are originals written by Austin. You really need to check them out.
This is one of, if not THE first video Chance did as a member of Home Free. If you notice the SCS logo on his shirt, it' stands for Street Corner Symphony, his previous a cappella group where he was the bas.
Adam's beatboxing is never too much. He has an amazing ear for what a song needs. They have incorporated this song into their concert performances lately. It is just as good live as it is in the studio - but then we have come to expect that.
Another fantastic, largely acapella group you may like is a group called Van Canto. They do sort of over the top almost theatrical acapella tracks. Their cover of Holding out for a hero always gets me ready to take on the day!
Hi, great to see you react to Home Free again. I get to see them live in the Netherlands in September. If you would like some variation. How about Dan Vasc performing Amazing Grace. ( He is a metal singer from Brazil ) He has a wonderful voice 😊
Well Chris, I've missed seeing your HF reactions. I know that you need to satisfy everyone's musical interests to keep them around. But, boy oh boy, do I miss seeing you react to HF. I've been waiting for this one. I believe a few of us mentioned this one ages ago. Like on your 3rd or 4th HF reaction. Try Everything is one of my most favorite ( uh, that was hard to say, bc there are so many great ones out there) songs that they do. I just love the beat & the message! My granddaughters & I have watched Zootopia. My girls call this "The Bunny song". When you see the movie you'll understand. I love to play this song occasionally in the morning as an upbeat song that gets the day started. I'm still waiting for you to react to HF's version of Never Gonna Give You up. My granddaughters were taught to Rick. Bring back HF! Take care & Enjoy!
I paused the video when you were asking how they do what they do, did you pick up that someone is mimicking strumming a banjo, who the hell is strumming a freaking banjo? Go back and listen during Chances lead, once you hear it you'll be able to hear thru most of the song. Great reaction as always, you need to check out Austin's song he released a week or so ago titled "Hers ain't Mine", it's been dubbed the married man's anthem. You'll love it
Have you heard Home Free's cover of CSN's "Helplessly Hoping"? The 3 part harmony is similar to the original, but the execution, with 2 voices replacing the guitar, make it a bit different. They also covered "Seven Bridges Road" . Being an Eagles song, you may have a problem with it getting blocked.
This is their version of the Shakira song. This is the very first song that Adam Chance sang in. If you look at his shirt it has his old groups initials (Street Corner Symphony). They got 2nd place on season 2 of The Sing Off. You may enjoy the From the Vault of this song. It shows just how goofy they are. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this.
So tight, so good!!! I do understand what yer saying. One day... maybe!?! Still fascinated even after 8yrs. Many just doesn't know what they're missing out on .......... and LIVE, OMGosh!!! an whole other level to say the least! :) Be Safe
This one got me through a lot of dark days. I can only find one VoicePlay song in your playlist. I highly recommend "Warriors," "Dream On," "Carry on Wayward Son," "It Ain't Me" (for starters :-) Thank you!
Home Free From the Vault Episode 1 covers the filming of this video, sort of the camera behind the camera. It shows some rehearsal, the guys being goofy, the cameraman and the director and maybe the choreographer. All 21 of the From the Vault videos are great and a complete joy to watch. A new one usually drops on the first Monday of the month. I just realized we should have got one on the fifth. They may skip July 3 because of the holiday so I'm hoping for a new one August 7. Meanwhile I'l just enjoy the ones we have.
Update: There are now 23 From the Vault videos and they seem to have stopped there. The Vault video for Try Everything has a lot of shots of the director who was there with his wife and baby. The couple, Reilly and Mckenzie Zamber are known by most people today as The Hound + The Fox. The were the "actors" in 2 Home Free videos and have performed in several videos with Adam Chance and with Tim Foust.
this a cover...I thinl Shikria sang it in the movie....this also was Chance's 1st song with Home Free and I loved they gave a small but great solo part...that was a nice gesture
Greetings Earthling. Check out John Farnham ' Help' with the melbourne symphony orchestra. It's from the 80's but a cracker. Cheers old kid , take care.
You just came across my feed...as a Home Free fans..nce to meet ya... Ive followed a'capella since 2011 and it's no longer a barbershop quartet style... That new groups put their personal flavor on each cover..and original songs..have created fan bases that didn't exist before... Personally I love these guys and select their music over other groups..PTX is pop..though they have christian music as well.. I dont follow them... These 5 men are all about Faith.. Family..Country...nothing better than that... Tim Foust has his iwn recordings on his channel..he loves doo-wop...have you listened to 💥...Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay..? Tim shows his 5 octave range and layers each track throughout the song... There is also the ex-bass from PTX..Avi Kaplan..another great vocalist who is known to layer his music..check out 💥...Change On The Rise... I'll be checking out your playlist...🌿🌿🌿
Love Home Free and your reactions to them. I never post comments but I notice that you only mentioned Home Free and Pentatonix. I went back and looked to see if you’ve done any reactions to the other big a cappella group, VoicePlay, and saw that you did do one reaction of one of their Christmas songs, and honestly not one of my favorites, so I can understand why you haven’t checked out any more of their videos. However, I think you should give them another try. Their most recent ones are truly amazing. I’d recommend either their cover of Nothing Else Matters or Seven Nation Army.
They have been featured in commercials! Always enjoy your reactions. Please review their Stargazer Trilogy--all originals from their latest album and shouldn't give you any country vibe. I concur with requests for Country Roads--it is beee-u-tiful, as well as Mayday and End Of The Road.
STOP THE RESISTANCE! If you want music to touch you, and strum your emotions, Country, Folk, or what ever the H..L these guys do is the answer. I have never heard Rock-n-roll, Hip-Hop, Rap, or Metal actually dig into me and make me want to laugh, cry, or become reflective.
There is a live video which is a mash-up of Try Everything & Timeless called "Timeless with special dancer" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w_PwIH6LhJs.html) that I think you'd really enjoy - I know it will surprise you. Their singing & song writing is truly astonishing - and they do it live 150-200 shows a year (excepting the Covid lockdowns). If you haven't seen the "Stargazer Trilogy" ("Give Me a Sign", "Stargazer Lilies" & "MR"), it's terrific.
Please play End of the Road and Brother- since you don’t like country. I don’t really either but these guys are different! They have many songs that aren’t country
