Just so everyone in the future is aware, this beat belongs to Lil’ Wayne after he destroyed it on his song, Blowing Up Fast. I’m convinced that it is his best song he’s put out, ever. In my opinion, it’s the authenticity, the timeline, and the general state of rap at the time. It was up for grabs at the moment, and the Southern artists took hold of the rap game in the mid oughts 00-10, and it doesn’t seem like there has been much of a shift since then. I mean Kendrick had his run, and I’m a big fan of various west coast rappers like Ab Soul and Jay Rock, but no one really put it down like Wayne did at that time. Or maybe I’m too old 🤣 This beat goes so fucking hard
