I often think the internet is an abyss of time-wasting negativity---but then I see her passion and ingenuity and feel better. Also--she taught herself some of these skills from other creative people's online tutorials. NIce!
Emily Baldwin I’ve always wondered if it was her real house or was her parent’s house that she always decorates for Halloween, but when they were in the kitchen you could see that it’s the same one she’s used in all of her photos for years and I doubt her parents would want her taking over THAT often, so it must be her own house. I would also LOVE a house tour, even if it was just the main rooms that she shoots in.
@ Samantha Holmes She would be so much more attractive if she didn’t wear such heavy makeup. Along with the soft focus lens, it makes her look like a mannequin. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge admirer but her appearance is really off putting. I actually unsubscribed after watching the first five minutes of the house tour video. She was doing way too much beauty pageant posing. And I still have to scroll past the intro sometimes. Let the hate mail begin! (Did anybody read my “huge admirer” sentence in this comment?)
You should watch her makeup video she's even more gorgeous before she puts her makeup on she actually looks completely like a different person with makeup lol 😍
You are litterally one of the only people I can relate to. My friend asked me, "who would go to the trouble to make things this meticulously?".... and I said, "I would and I do." I think there's a large enough group of people who, when they want something ultra specific... like a custom couch... they just decide to DIY make it. Amazing work! We need more multi-talented meticulous artists like you!
I also get a lot of grief from people for being a perfectionist about things like this. Granted, I'm definitely way slower than Christine at doing anything and the payoff is a lot less impressive, but it makes me happy to see others spending so much time on things that serve almost no function besides providing the joy of creating something we're proud of and find beautiful. My mom used to love sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, etc. until my dad convinced her it was all a big waste of time and she stopped for many years. Recently she's gotten back into it though and she makes some really cool things, stuff like this is so underrated
Now-now, give Martha her due. She never lets us down over Halloween. Christine, though... sigh! Netflix let us down. She is so deserving. If Marilyn Munster had a daughter!
I love watching your hands. They are so beautiful, but then they are so able to do so many things: furniture, cabinetry, cooking, electrical, landscaping, sewing...you are a woman for all seasons. I wish you success.
I am in absolute awe of you and your talent!!! I haven’t decorated for Halloween in a couple of years because of depression, but you’ve inspired me to take my daughter and I to do some shopping tomorrow for some supplies to make Halloween decorations. Thank you!!!!
Shannon 520 this is totally unsolicited and hopefully it won’t offend in any way, but I struggle with depression as well. If I can get myself to do anything (which sometimes you just can’t and that’s okay) doing creative projects is my outlet!! I’m very lucky in that I already have a lot of supplies at my disposal and three close craft stores but sometimes, making something from your mind is sooo cathartic. Plus there’s that rush of good feelings when you complete a project you love! And if you’re making it as a gift, it gives you someone to focus on and positive memories and the joy of giving it is just 🥰. If you ever want to chat about anything, but especially being creative, feel free to message me. You matter! 💕
I feel the same most of the time but when I watch Christine's videos I get inspired as well. After I watched this I went out and bought the supplies I needed to restore my gauntlets lol!
I'm so happy that you gave tips to preserve the antique bird cage. I have been collecting antiques for some time and like looking for stuff like that. I use mine in a lot of the decor around my house. The number 1 thing that gets to me is when people will take something that's super unique, like that bird cage and mess with it. That's just me. I don't mind it all of the time. But for certain things like old trunks that are painted all white, or something like that. And when I say painted white... I don't mean It's done in a good way. It bugs the crap out of me. I don't feel like I'm someone who has many pet peeves... But that's definitely one of them.
I agree! I always get a little scared when youtube crafters get their hands on antiques / original Art. I've seen people paint over beautiful original Artwork, or turn gorgeous antique furniture into shabby chic crap that is already massproduced. It always breaks my heart...
Tell me about it. I picked up a battered old trunk on the cheap thrifting a while back. I can only guess what it looks like under the pukey green paint until I manage to strip it (hoping for a waterfall given the style).
I've picked up many furniture pieces from sellers who said, "This will look so cute painted with chalk paint." Little do they know, their $40 table refinished as original is a $1000 piece.
@@chrisestill8825 So totally agree! As an interior designer, a client hired me because I was the only one that was wanted to incorporate his late mother's furniture...so, under the badly heavy smeared layers of old stain on an Empire style tea table and chairs we found ...original ormeleu (gold dipped bronze), amazing veneers, and a signature. Told client to take for appraisal asap. Ended up worth a couple of hundred thousand. Signature was from Napoleon's cabinetmaker! Client super appreciative and gave me a very nice gift. Just happy someone didnt junk them as the other "designers" wanted to do.
I think it rather lovely of you to allow the Cameraman out of the basement once in a while. Especially if it results in such a lovely creation! That bat turned out so gorgeously sinister!!!
Everything about this video is perfect. The antique cage is cool, Christine's respect for the historical artifact is beautiful, the terrarium thingy looks like a dark-fairy altar, the bat looks positively evil, and the kittens are ADORABLE
Paid $300 for a $1200 200 year old bird cage, dresses it up Christine style, then gives it away. Very nice! I also love how Christine maintains the integrity of the antique. That's very special.
I so enjoy watching you, Christine. I accidentally found your show on Netflix, then saw that it was only 1 season! What the hec?! I'm glad you found an outlet on RU-vid.
Let’s face it, I’m NEVER going to make me a bat that probably took days to be ready, but hell if this isn’t so amazing and soothing to watch. There’s something so fantastic about her, my daughter and I were obsessed with her Netflix show. Still can’t believe they cancelled it.
The inter-cuts of the kittens throughout the video is EVERYTHING! Netflix made a huge mistake cancelling your show, and I'm so happy you've found a new place to show off all your talent and creativity! I will not be dropping $$$ on an antique bird cage, but I definitely want to do something similar. Thank you for all the great tips on decorating!
Seriously!!! I discovered Christine yesterday and I can't believe she doesn't have more followers, or that she is not more widely recognized! Her talent and hard work are insane!!!
My partner KC and I absolutely love your shows, Christine! Between your brilliant artistic mind and meticulous attention to the smallest detail, you create some of the most phantasmagoric creations we've ever seen. And trust me, gurl, we have seen some spooky stuff. You're a crafting inspiration, especially around this best season of the year. :-*
This is EXACTLY how I want to decorate my home and I'm so glad there's finally tangible images for me to reference - I'm lacking in the "creative eye" department and I'm so happy to have found this channel for inspiration!
That is so sweet and generous to give that to a patron! It's so beautiful; the cage is a remarkable find. I imagine at some time it had a raven living inside.
I adore making things too. Anything from painting tables to tiny embroidered buttons to quilts to my own clothes to curtains to lemon honey. Hence this site is perfection. What baffles me is how The Lovely Christine manages to stay pristine with all the thread, paint and glue. I am always covered during the process. My fingers would also have plasters from the glue gun and the soldering iron.... i think what made your bat/gargoyle even more creepy is that he/she is sitting UP, not hanging upside down...like a normal creature of the night.
I love how humble you are Christine! You openly admit to not being an "expert" in things but you're willing to learn! You give the rest of us inspiration to learn something new too! 😍
For this entire video I couldn’t shake one thought off. How COOL could it be if this cage could become an ACTUAL TERRARIUM! Like, with help of epoxy clay, and some talented hands....
Thank you so very much for sharing these fantastic projects. Nice to see Werewoof and Vincent looking so content with their new family life, too. They are both adorable :)
Oh my goodness that is amazing!!! I so enjoy watching your talents!!! Im sorry im not a member...maybe someday but hon im a single mom and my kids come first. Sharing you right now on Facebook hope others will enjoy your work....ps..loved the couch video!!!
Love your stuff, Christine! Netflix made a HORRIBLE decision in giving you up! We love you having here in RU-vid! Praying for massive success for you! ❤️
@@Evasroses6543 I think she lets him slip his leash every once in awhile just to keep his sanity. She is basically a very kind person. You wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for membership in the local garden club.
I finally get it. I've figured out why I am so enthralled with her (other than her insane talent). She totally gives off the Elvira vibe. I know at one time Elvira was looking for someone to take her place and I think Christine could almost pull it off. I only say almost because you could never replace Elvira.
This is amazing. I can't believe you're giving this beautiful piece away! I'm a Patron of yours, and you put so much thought into your creations. I love it!
Christine I'm so bummed that I won't be getting to see another Season of Curious Creations. Keep doing what you love and your fans will support you every step of the way! Send my love to Rose, Rankle, Edgar, Millie, Lucille, Vivian, and Bernard.
Christine, this was incredible! You are one talented.lady. I wished I was the lucky recipient of this project. But whomever gets it is going to be incredibly happy.
Young lady I love your imagination. That's an amazing creation, definitely wouldn't want him getting tangled in my hair. That actually happened to my sister when she was a teenager. I was four but it was memorable. like I mentioned in another post your beautiful work stirs up wonderful and unique childhood memories. Continue to inspire the young and mesmerized the older crowd such as myself.
Holy cow, he totally looks like something from the Jim Henson world. He’s soooooooo good. Every time I think you are putting on the final touches, you are always like 10 “final touches” away! 😂😍✨
Just amazing ! Love your bat 🦇 he really came alive. The crystal and moss and embellishments are perfect. He’s otherworldly antique and yet real. The spiders are so cool too. Your my hero lady! 💕👏🏻
