Hello, Thank you very much for this wonderful training. I have tried both methods at home. However, the oil that came out is very little. Is there a particular type of groundnut that should be used?

You did not explain from how much peanut you can get what quantity of oil. Second you did not tell us how much of water we are supposed to incorporate. Thanks.

It will vary based on technique, and oil content in peanuts. For the cold press method: Just spoon in enough water until you see the oil separating from the mixture. The water binds to the fiber and starches, causing the oil to separate. For the hot press method: Add enough water to make a thick blended slurry. At that point, the mixture will be an emulsion. Once the slurry makes contact with the heat, the emulsion will break, separating the oil. With the hot press method, you can continue cooking and stirring till the water has completely evaporated. This will render the most oil. Some people prefer to minimize cooking time.
