Making boil in the bag or dehydrated rations with food bag, freezer bags or microwave bags. Heat resistant food bags can be used to heat food up in a 'boil in a bag' method, placing the bag in boiling water. #HikingFood
Instant mash and smoked sausage, lasts days in your pack, just add boiling water, stir, leave for a few minutes and voila! I also want to try instant custard and powdered milk, add boiling water some kind of cake bar?? I reckon that would make an awesome duff!! Love making my own rations, porridge oats with cinnamon powder, powdered milk, sugar and raisons is another good breakfast!! Pre-make them before you go.... My to to lunch for hiking at the moment is tortilla wraps they last days in a zip lock bag and tuna, they do them in individual foil packets as jacket potato toppings so easy, just make them up when you stop for lunch! Never thought to just empty a can and use it like a boil on the bag though?? Will definately try this out!
