The window balance system helps your windows stay open or closed. If your window won’t stay up, also known as guillotine window, or if your window won’t lock, or if your window won’t open, all of this could lead back to an issue with your window balance system.
The good news is, there is a simple solution. In this video, we walk you through how to identify issues with your window balance system including; ensuring your window shoe is properly installed, making sure your black clip is secure within the window balance system, and identifying issues as to why your window won’t lock. You will need a flathead screwdriver to complete these tasks.

👍Great job at explaining and demonstrating each step! If the ZOOM-IN had stayed on while he was in the frame removing the Clip (that didn’t fall out) and giving a better view of putting it back into place it would have made it all the more better, for me anyway. Being a senior, my eyes can’t zoom in like they used to! I know that when I have to clean the windows they are heavy for me. So I believe I will leave this fix-it to a Power crew associate. My appointment is already scheduled. Thanks again for the video. It’s interesting to see how everything works. I would like to receive more troubleshooting videos as they are available. Additionally zooming in more often allows the audio to be recorded separately (adr). Then it can be read off a script.

Okay. Too bad it takes soooooo long to get warranty service to come out and fix things. Minimum of a 6 month waiting list, it seems...

My coil is some how on top of the window and I can't open it. How do I fix it if I can't open the window?

Hello there, I m not good explain this. you know winodow going up the window but somehow not go up the window like lock only 1/4 not going full window lift up whole the window. i think stuck window right right , and cant find exactly parts which one . ho i should knoSweran you try answer if ?understand this .

There are wooden windows that are 100 years old and still work great and are easy to repair. I have Gorell vinyl double hung windows the shoes are different and sash pins are different. Of course Gorell has gone out of business and I'm screwed. Also the glass isn't clear any more and I can't even see out the windows.

UGH, I realize this video is a year old but I hope you still get notices. I have the opposite problem. I can't get my windows to open easily. I have to use every bit of strength I have to get them open, than a lot of pressure to get them to close. I hope their is an easy fix for this...Please help!!!

I've had to put several of the Power Home Remodeling windows just installed, into the balance system. Most of the clips were bouncing around in the tracks. One window installed with cracked glass in the sash, took a year to replace. When finally replaced, both clips were loose and sash was difficult to lift, like quite a few other window sashes. At a thousand dollars a window, I can't believe I'm spending time getting them to operate correctly. Extremely disappointed with Power.
