Hi everyone! Welcome back to my Home Renovation series!! A few updates on this very challenging week. Parts of our Wren kitchen didn’t fit & Winnie escaped and gave us a really big shock! All safe and well. We are so so close to the finish line now. Enjoy the updates and see you all next week!

ahhh thanks so much! I don't always share the tears because actual cant fathom getting my camera out to vlog when I'm in the middle of a meltdown but believe me they do happen hehe

thank you so much!! lol I never realised there'd be such emotional baggage that came with doing a house Reno. at the beginning I thought it was knocking down a few walls and some pretty interiors! sending lots of love back to Costa Rica what a truly beautiful and magical country!

Oh Jess babe! Thank goodness Winnie's ok - she's not the first dog to do it (always a bloomin Lab!) and it doesn't stop that heart lurching moment when you realise they're not where they're supposed to be - but she came back safely after a wee adventure! The kitchen's beginning to look lovely, those builders are amazing and you;re doing such a fabulous job project managing a not-so-small build! 👏🏻

hahahah always a blooming lab!!! so true. sneaky wee thing! Urgh that heart lurching moment is the worst! I am lolling at your comment she really did have a sneaky wee adventure and thank god she's not done it since. I've started leaving the door open to take the rubbish out and she waits at the door and when I return I give Her a treat to show her its so much better waiting on that side of the door lol so far so good! Andthank you so relieved the kitchen is taking shape! My builders are literally my heroes!! xxx

Everything works out in the end but to get to the end is so stressful. Poor Winnie being outside on her own I'm so glad she's ok. Stay safe.

you are so right! it really really does. I feel a bit overwhelmed that when things like that happen at the moment I literally cant process them or figure out how to deal with them, then I pull myself together and remind myself its a phone call and easily manageable haha

Jess so glad Winnie is ok. My heart was in my mouth even though you found her. Happened to me once but I didn't even know until a neighbour knocked on my door 10 min later. Snuck past me when I put something in the bin. Love the reno, nearly there.

What a scare with Winny! My mums dog got spooked while out with the dogwalker, thankfully at a place where there wasn't any heavy traffic. Took hours to find her, lots of people came out looking for her (they put it in an app group and lots of people went out looking). She was found in the next neighbourhood because someone put up an angry facebook post about a dog growling and pooping under their carport. It was so cold and they just left her outside for all those hours while she was so so scared. Love for your pets runs so deep! Glad Winny was oke!

Dogs love to wander. My mum's dog used to escape, decide she didn't like being escaped and then would sit and wait in the shop car park at the end of the road for someone she knows to go collect her. 😂

Could you do a video about your budget? I'm in the process of buying a house to which I want to do some extension but have no idea how the cost of building new walls, demolishing one, buying a full new kitchen etc.

yes absolutely! Im doing a mini q&a in next weeks episode so will add this in to it. I've also got a highlight saved on @jessrosehome instagram in the "q&a" folder that answers some of these questions! another thing is that cost completely depends on 1. location of your property and builders rates in your area 2. the age of your house and how much work needs to be done - the older the property usually more work involved 3. the kitchen supplier you go with. If you're in London and in a victorian property and you want to knock out walls and dig foundations and extend right out, put a new kitchen in and all new finishes on walls ceilings and floors It'll be around 70k. That is sooo subjective though to all of the above but that's a ballpark figure for you xx hope the helps!

Nothing like that stomach dropping feeling of losing track of your pet. I'm a cat mom myself and I am hyper aware of Merlin's whereabouts at all times. I am so glad Winnie is safe. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. How's the foot? And yes Mercury IS in retrograde. It's really messing with me too.

oh my gosh it really is that isnt it?! honestly I don't know if I could handle having a cat and allowing them that kind of independence id be worrying the whole time!! foot is still bruised but totally fine. hope you're ok!!! honestly cannot believe how much it can mess with us!

@@Jessroseparr the husband built our cat a screened in patio so he could be outside without me losing my mind. Plus we live out in the country and have predators so it keeps him safe as well He even made a sign for it "Merlin's Mansion "

thank you!! it was so stressful but I realised once I'd started taking action to sort it it was actually fixed so quickly!! so relieved. also Winnie!! urgh the stress and fear. the door has been kept firmly shut ever since hehe

Oh I so felt you when you were talking about Winnie going walkabout, our pets can be such little dramallama's and never know what they put us through! So glad she's okay and home safe. Given the state of constant change I don't known if this is feasible for you but is there somewhere you can put a baby gate temporarily as an extra checkpoint, so to speak? Great progress on the build, really looking forward to see your finishing touches as it all comes together.

hahahahah oh gosh yes - dramallamas is the perfect word for it. wow that is such a good idea we've had our stair gate sat in our garden for months.the only tough thing is if I keep her up in the loft with me she whines to get down and I cant deny her using the garden for toilet etc.. but then she hoodwinks me and just goes to get cuddles from the builders lol. She loves a social that one!

they are SO steep. their pitch is 53!!!! she goes up and down them all the time totally fine, me on the other hand - I've slipped down them twice 😱🙈

The changes are really noticeable you are doing a great job. Think you are having a pocket door fitted? If so have you any tips or recommendations you could share please?

thank you!! yes our builders built the frames for the pocket doors out of timber and plasterboard each side. the doors were ordered and then a track was ordered and placed within the frame. I think you can order the actual frames online as well if you didn't want to build them from scratch. We've taken full advantage of the carpentry skills onsite and had them build as much as we could :D

I understand the frames come in kit form and a slide door (any door) can be fitted later - which is good when floor levels have to be taken into account and when one’s preferred glass panel door is available only in Italy with long lead time😔Looking forward to seeing the finished article 👍🏻

thank you!! they're fromWest Elm. they're from the garden section as they're plastic not porcelain. You'd never know from afar though! absolutely love them that we usually use them for indoor dining too!

Fish is also meat. Meat dairy and eggs are very cruel industries it's bad enough that you fund and support them, but you also like to brag about funding and supporting them on your channel. It's disgusting seeing the cruelty you participate in.
