Great technique to use at home or office to help reduce pain in the neck and down the arm from a pinched nerve. Give it a try and comment below. Thanks www.kevinbrownp... kandschiropract...
I had neck pain for more than 2 years and I sought treatment with my primary doctor, acupuncturist and several chiropractors. Nothing helped my pain improve and I suffered with pain for that entire time. My X-ray also showed loss of normal curvature of cervical spine. . It took a simple video like this and a towel to reduce my pain by more than half. Don’t know why no one suggested cervical traction. Love love love this. You saved my life!!!
I've been doing this stretch several times a day and it's given me SO MUCH RELIEF !!! it feels good !!!! And the feeling is returning to my ring finger and pinky on my left hand !!!! I can even tell my walking is getting better . THANKS A BUNCH ☺💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
I’ve trained years in Kyokushin karate and took a huge break from training. I started training in aikido recently and I had to relearn how to fall and roll - in practice I didn’t fall properly and I tweaked my neck - I just did 2 sets of this for 15 seconds and it was instant relief. I cannot thank you enough for this video ✨✨
I thank God for Doctors like you who think of alleviating pain in the lives of all those who are suffering and perhaps have nobody to turn too , specially the bedridden , housebound etc . I am a crippled person myself and most of the time unable to make it to visit the doctors . I am suffering from Spondolysis and when I get excruciating pain in my neck causing numbness in the arms and fingers Doctors advice traction which has not been possible because of my crippled feet . I cried out to God for help since I have been suffering with pain for more than a week and last night I came across your video . I managed to exercise my neck as shown by you and felt so much better . Thanks a lot Dr and God bless you for reaching out to suffering humanity unselfishly .
He's not a medical doctor , he has a dr in chiropractics , no med school , he would be the least qualified to help I suggest you see a real DR A Dr of osteopathic medicine , one who went to med school for a minimum of 12 years that actually fix the problem or best way to handle it
I started only four days and was in a lot of pain, tightness in my head, neck, shoulders. Occasional headaches. I also had numbness and tingling down both arms, which was awful every time I laid down. I immediately felt better and slowly my symptoms are decreasing. I appreciate you so much Dr thank you. Can you do a video on how to sleep better with a painful neck? Thanks 💙
I have neck pain due to dance performances and acrobatics. Today, I had pain that started while running an errand. When I got to my car, I was in terrible pain. I'm sitting in my car watching your video and I'm getting IMMEDIATE RELIEF while using my jacket! THANK YOU!!!
God bless you Dr. Brown! I tried this and it really worked! gave me the relief from neck pain and tightness that I needed between Chiro visits...out of all the neck exercises I tried - this one worked! So grateful
I HAD a military neck and nerve pinched and having severe neck pain. By doing this EXERCISE several times,it has given me much RELIEF. This is one of the best home remedies.
And It causes a trauma to me , I stop doing crunches or abdominal workout, I went to the doctor I feel a lot of arthritis on my chest and a Vertigo , I got anxiety I thought I have a heart diseases. So It's myself I was feel so scared.
This helped a lot, thank you. I am unable to do any of the chin tuck remedies to alleviate my pinched nerve because of the pain and this stretch gave me some desperate relief.
WOW!! I have had neck pain forever, or so it seems. I am 70 and I figured this was just normal aging. I was investigating neck hammocks. I came upon this video, tried it, and immediately felt relief. I am going to do this and to heck with a neck hammock! Thank you, Dr. Brown. I like this self-help video. I would like more self-help videos!
Thank you!!! I needed this during Covid because I developed Occipital neuralgi and cant get to see my chiropractor and I head the adjustment with very gentle stretching with your towel technique!!! Thank you!!!
I had severe pain in my elbow and arm. Having had that shoulder replaced about 3 yrs ago I was terrified something had gone wrong with the prosthesis ! I did this procedure and had instant relief. I am so relieved besides being thankful for the pain relief! Thank you so much
I interlock my fingers behind my neck and squeeze my elbows together and pull back slowly. On good days i get 8-10 good pops from between my shoulders and up into my head. The instant stress relief and relaxation is incredible but ive always wondered if this was dangerous.. thanks for your video! I will give the towel a try.
I just watched your video .. I have neck pain due to my bad sitting position ..I will try this towel method .. I hope it will helps me to ease my neck pain .. thank you Dr. Brown .. God bless
Will definitely be trying this as I have been having intermittent pain down back of left arm where tricep is for around 3 weeks (Tricep tendinitis I am thinking) and had ecg which was clear so must have been triggered by a Gonstead Chiro I had 5 sessions with around 5-6 weeks ago who also triggered severe occipital neuralgia and vertigo.I have now found a wonderful Chiro who tried the dry needling and adjustment and will slowly work on getting things back to some normality.
My substitute PT did cervical traction after the ortho finally did a neck X-ray and saw that all my shoulder pain and arms/thumbs numbness was all in my neck amd I felt almost immediate relief!!! I had been being treated for carpal tunnel by my chiropractor and shoulder pain by ortho and traction has been the only relief I’ve been getting
Great explanations and exercises! Thanks, doc! I had that terrible pain on the left side of my neck that goes all the way down to my left arm. I often can't sleep well. And it's due to spending too much time at my desk while working and probably I also got hurt during the previous moving out. The doctors told me the pinched nerv is between C6 and C7. I am on therapy for 2 months an more and nothing really relieves the symptoms for good. Because of this Covid-19 situation, currently I am not able to go and take an X-ray of my cervical spine and get further instructions. I hope these exercises will help. Looking forward to seeing more videos.
Thank you for that short and to the point video. I tried it with you and I felt a relief. I will do this in the future instead of reaching for pain meds which do not help. Do you have any treatment for middle back pain? Bless you.
thank you, I had this neck pain on my left side, I coulden´t turn my head to left, ofcourse I had this few times in my life before, but now it was lasting for two days I never had this pain for that long, this stretch actually helped alot
New subscriber here from Philippines..thanks for this video it's help me to decrease my pain in my neck..you mention that if we have a neck pain, then it's throwly down to my arm..it's correct sir ..if my neck got pain a already feels my arm like to push then I heard a pop-ing ...I know already sir that the cause of my neck pain is to my bad portior..
Thank you so much, Dr. Brown! This has helped me tremendously! I have experienced a ton of pain in my neck, back, and shoulders due to working from home, not sitting correctly, and texting. I have experienced a significant amount of pain in both of my hands and even a case of trigger finger. However, these techniques have helped me and I will continue to do this. I plan to see a chiropractor in my area soon. Thank you again!
Thanks Dr Brown for your video. I've had neck, shoulder and arm pain that radiates from the neck and have been pretty much demobilized by the pain for the past 2 days. I just found this video and the towel traction has made a tremendous difference.
hello sir, i wa given this video by a friend and i thank you, am already trying what i just saw, this is the frst time i've ever watched a video like this, merci as we say in french, will comment more in the coming days
@@valelareinita hello friend, i can' t really answer precisely, because i did more than just that exercise, i then pumped my body with anti-pain pills or anit-muscle-inlammatory, and i would take many, but the non drowsy ones so's i was still able to drive and function and then i put cold pain releif cream, rub A-535 but not the heat one, the opppsosite, cold, hell i didn't even know that that existed,,,,,so i did all that and evenutally all the pain / strain / swelling or whatever else i had went away, so i would say it's everything together and not just one thing,,,,i hope my answer helped and feel free to write me again
Nice post. i dealt with conic neck pain as a result of a herniated disc. Upward pressure on the head relieved the pain but it was a short term solution the pain and it the traction device was worn over night I would be fine over the short tern. I finally got a C5-C6 fusion in 1997, which completely cured the problem. Now the procedure is out patient for the most part. If possible a disc trim or used of carnivora born is much better than a surgeon taking the bone out of your hip. You do not have to live with all the brutal neck pain and numbness in the arm. Find the best orthopedic surgeon around and get the disc fused. In a few weeks all the misery will be history. You will also enjoy life much more. Conic pain sucks, especially close to you head.
Key point - if it causes pain - then the stenosis is not simply compression. But traction won't restore the curve. I like the CerviGuard for curve correction And correcting the posture corrects the posture The towel thing does bring relief to the muscles - but hopefully no one has Cranial Or Atlanto-Axial instability or they'll pop the Occiput up further. But if basilar invagination - this will feel like a cure - but only temp.
Fabulous demonstration and instruction. I have a cradle neck adjuster, and it is difficult to know how much pressure to squeeze into the BP type of ball. Thank you!
Thanks doc for this information. I felt relief in first attempt only. If you are reading comments then please can you tell me that will this exercise help in recovering cervical spondylosis? I am suffering since I was in college and its been around 15yrs. The main pain arises when I wear something in neck or wear a collared shirt.
@@dr.kevinbrown9251 I haven't tried it yet when I watched your channel I just felt a some kind of hope on how I'm going to handle my neck problem. I felt the pain a some kind of tightness feeling on my neck when I place the towel on.thanks Dr.for this home remedy.
Thank you so much for sharing these instructions Doc! I will try this. I know for sure I have injuries in my thoracic and lumbar sections but have not had any MRI done for my cervical spine. This shall help immensely!
Ay, no entiendo nada de lo hablado, pero lo estoy viendo y por señas comprendo jejejej muchas gracias por ayudar a la población, muy gentil y muy guapo ... saluditos desde chile...
I guess you have to relax your neck. Dont use pillow when you sleep. If you sleep sideways then get a pillow. Rest your eyes. Do neck exercises when you feel good enough.Thats how I get rid of my headache and now I am facing neck problem 😂
My physio therapist referred me to this, just in case some people are nervous about trying something recommended by a chiropractor. I know not everyone believes in them. I find hold the towel higher than he initially puts it best. Look up a diagram of the occipitals if you are unsure where you want to feel the pull from the towel. Very good for migraine sufferers who have muscle pain triggers so long as they heed his advice that this should not cause pain. Suboccipitals are connected to that knife through the eye pain migraine sufferers often get.
@@ynot6781 not once did I say he's a doctor let alone an MD so your point just makes you look silly 🙄 Again, this specific video is a reference my physiotherapist recommended to me so I trust THIS SPECIFIC VIDEO. Go start a fight with someone who is as pointlessly antagonistic as you.
Thanks I will try that. I have been wondering why sometimes I have the same problems you just said. Yes, I have been sitting too much before a computer and my head always forward. That may explain why I have sometimes problems with my neck. Thanks
Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to read and any suggestions. I have a question Doctor, I've had 24/7 floating and rocking in my head for 3 year's, have been to various doctor's and a Neurologist, had lots of blood tests, vestibular tests etc.... On my brain MRI two small white lesions were found, however they were not MS, (Multiple Sclerosis) lesions, no indicators of Demyeliative Plaques, which is typical of MS. I've had 2 CT Scans of the head, no findings. Been seen by a Cardiologist, had a series of tests done, nothing abnormal. Seen a Audiologist for Tinnitus I developed in past couple months. No abnormalities. I do know my lower back has issues, some times it will pull again and create much pain however I haven't had a Scan done of that yet. *I do recall a regular doctor back in 2018, requesting for me to walk in front of them, and they did state I had some scoliosis. *My main symptoms is the 24/7 floating and rocking in my head. *Tingling in my feet *Internal vibrations in my head. sometimes *Sometimes brain zaps when I lay flat on my back with my head against pillow *Tinnitus *Right eye twitching *Head heavy, it feels heavy *"Sometimes" terrible vertigo when laying on my left side. My posture is terrible, and I hold a lot of tension in bottom back of my skull region and my neck from trying to compensate from the constant floating. *What I'm inquiring is if neck or back, cervical issues can be one of many causes of vertigo or any symptoms of chronic dizziness, off balance or brain zaps sometimes or any symptoms mentioned. I have heard of one case of "cervical vertigo", someone had a pinched nerve in neck but don't know how common it is? Thank you so much Doctor Brown for sharing your exercises, wisdom and time. I'm trying to find anything I think may help.
I feel Nick pain and also feel pain to my left hand. gradually it is increasing. Thank for your advice sir. I'm trying at home during this lock down condition.
Some physio therapists are operating via video conferencing in the lockdown. Try calling and emailing ones near you to see if they can take you on. Yes, at least some will do initial evaluations this way as well.
I do about the same type of traction in the gym but I use use those rubber straps that people work they're groin with, and hang it from some type of equipment and then I can use gravity.
i have cerival problem for the past 11 years which has been traveling to my left traps and left chest all the years. i am 40 now. but for the past 1 year it has traveling to my left tongue. is it common to have the tongue pressure and sharp and dry tongue on left side all the time with cervical patient. i have mild disc buldge to c5 and c6
This was helpful. Ive been doing all this plus other exercises and seeing chiro regularly. It helps but its been months and the radiating pain down my arm can get so bad I cant even feel my arm sometimes. Has been on and off for five yrs. Trying to avoid surgery but how do you know when it might be time to starting thinking about that? I know you said if we dont catch this early it could be perm. Im thinking it might be there.
Funny seeing this video right now. For the last almost two months my right arm has been numb and in a ton of pain. Seen a massage therapist 5 times and the chiropractor 3 times before all this covid stuff shut everything down. I was in the drug store earier today and i grabbed the last dr. Ho neck comforter. Threw it on, pumped it up and 20 minutes later after taking it off, the pain and numbness is completely gone. Im so relieved. It was driving me literally insane. And all along i thought was my shoulder because that’s where a lot of the pain felt like it was originating.
