Hi Vanessa! Thanks for taking the time to comment:) I love that! I wish you all the success. It is a great career path, and my team has so much fun!!... There is a misconception it is not "chill" at all ;) It is so much hard work...especially behind the scenes....But so worth it! Good Luck:)
very helpful! I am getting into the home staging business since I own a furniture store...I put furniture together all the time and stage my store...this should be fun added service to my business!
When I saw the furniture I thought this was going to be a disaster. But you did really good job of staging this house. In the end, it all look so pulled together and nice. thank you for sharing your tips
Hi Barb, Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. I cant believe that I have had the fortune to stage more than a decade now!! I love it everyday. Hoping to bring more videos in the near future!
Hi Philly79! Thanks so much!! I get a little superstitious so I appreciate that you to me to 667:) Thank you for your comment. Please come back for new videos soon:) Have a great day!
I would love to start a home staging business. I have staged all 3 homes I have sold, they go for over asking, and they always get comments that it looks beautiful, stunning, and even some people say “I can’t believe the pictures weren’t photoshopped” and “I feel like I walked on set of HGTV”. It makes me so happy to make other people feel so good seeing my work and feel so comfy and excited. How can I start such a business?
Thank you for sharing this video. Do you know what I found the most interesting - something that gets me too - the mitre joins of the mirror frame - not fitting correctly and you have to colour it in to disguise the bad joins. these tips are invaluable and fabulous and I would love for you to show more of these tips - how to cover tiny flaws in furniture, fitting and the actual building.
I am considering majoring in interior design and using that degree to become a home stager. I was wondering if you could tell me about how much the average salary is for this. Also, do you get hired through a main office or is it a self served service? How do you personally feel about your decision to be a home stager?
Jessica, I am a Home Stager. It is a true passion of love. You will find you have to love it, to do all the work. It is like moving twice a month. You spend a week planning, packing, moving and then the house sells a month later and back on the truck it goes. There are some really good staging mentors on Face Book that work together to help up and coming Designers. Be wary of people selling you classes. I have found you can learn most of what you need to know if you dig in and search the internet. As for how much to charge, it really depends on the project. I work threw referrals, and market myself. I wish you success in perusing a passion that is a lot of hard work, and very rewarding.
GREAT JOB I WILL TRY YOUR IDEA'S FOR MY HOME.I WANT ALL MY ROOMS TO BEAUTIFUL.KEEP EVERY DOOR OPEN NOT CLOSED TO HIDE A ROOM THAT ISN'T NICE.THANK YOU.LOVE YOUR IDEA'S MAKE MORE VIDEO'S PLEASE.😊☺😉
I would've placed a large round table in the dining area to balance off all the straight lines with a round rug & used a faux flat screen tv instead of a large mirror 😉
Hi Shannon, I appreciate that you took the time to watch and to comment! The space can be deceiving in the video... but in two places there wouldn't have been enough room to walk around if I put in a round to fit 6.🙂 I do use the faux TVs as well . This time I chose a mirror so the mirror would bounce light and make the small room look bigger. If the home had been larger, your suggestions would be right on!😉💜
Love your work... You prefer to use a real bed to stage the rooms? I use airbeds quite frequently saves me space for other stuff in the kit :) I also just added a fake TV is lighter and easier to handle than the mirrors.
Hi Matt! Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts:) I use both; Real beds in the Master and sometimes airbeds in the secondary bedrooms if staging is needed:) I like the faux TVs as well. I use mirrors more often because it serves a dual purpose. The shape allows a buyer to see where a TV can be hung, and it also reflects light into a room and makes it look bigger. It sounds like you are a big advocate for staging...bet you are one of the successful ones!! ;)
@@sellitquickhomestaging6435 Thanks, I really appreciate your comments. My client's homes sell very well. I see you do staging, it's a lot in part to staging the homes whenever possible. I call it the silent salesman. Really makes a HUGE difference. I think two identical homes, one staged one not. The staged home will always sell first.
Thanks Daniel! I appreciate the feedback.. Yes and no...When the home sells, I remove the furniture and put it in another home...but when the furnishings become outdated or too damaged from all the staging, I retire the items:)
Hi Sandy...Haha...Very True!! Actually I was showing that staging is also trial and error with items...you may not have noticed in the finished staging, we did not use the clock! It was too small for that space:) Thanks for taking the time to comment; Happy Holidays to you!
Hi Zenobia! Thank you for taking the time to watch and subscribe! With constant moving of staging furniture dings do happen...I wanted to show how we touch it up. There is a furniture marker stick that can be purchased at Home Depot that is permanent ..I also use Sharpie LOL!
Sell it Quick Home Staging Your work was very nice, but I am about to hire stagers for several thousand dollars and I just couldn’t get past the use of nicked furniture. Perhaps the pieces should be more carefully wrapped or your movers should be more careful...?
Love your home staging videos! Can you please share what store did you get both rugs.... the brown & white & grey & white rugs??? I hope that you will respond!! I look forward to your response😊 Thank-you😊in advance!
Hi D RL! Thanks for taking the time to ask a question:) I believe that those rugs were purchased at ...American furniture. They have great looking furniture, rugs etc. and they are very reasonably priced! Enjoy your day!
Whether true or not, no one buying the house would notice such a detail since they won’t ever pull out the chairs. They are not focused on that, they are overwhelmed with the beauty and emotion the home brings.
That's a great idea! I will think about making a blog with links. I love to help everyone make their home or listed property beautiful!! Thanks for weighing in! Love it!
Hi There...Thanks for taking the time to reply. As I had a professional produce the first video, I do not know the terminology...what at asmr videos? The ones coming up are more organic and less professional; but never the less will give some great information:) ..but always looking for great ideas:) Thanks again!
Hi Everyone! I hope you all have been hanging in there through COVID...We finally see light at the end of the tunnel! With everything going on, I hadn't had a chance to make or share videos. I was just reading so many comments that I missed and felt so heart warmed by all of your kind words. It means the world to me...The whole reason I did a video in the first place is to help inspire your own creativity. I am going to commit to making a couple more videos in the summer. I think its about time :) Would love feedback on what exactly you are hoping to see. Niches, fireplaces, weird spaces,, may new favorite(parlors).....anything. I love to give ideas and help inspire. Hope you all come back to watch! xoxo Tracy-
I don't know how I missed this question!! Hoping better late than never:) I have a warehouse that stores all my own inventory. Staging is making a home look beautiful and functional through the use of furniture/ furnishings. It helps buyers visualize how the space will work for them as well as giving them a bit of "eye candy" that makes them fall in love with the home and write an offer! I encourage people to use staging techniques on beautifying their own home; even if its not for sale! Have a great weekend!
Furniture is fine to show what the rooms can do, but I would rather have and see no carpet and giant paintings/mirrors if I am potential buyer. It looks like the buyer try to hide some problem by covering the walls and floors. Especially when the regulations said that you can't move stuff when you are looking at a house.
Sofie P...I do see your point😊 For some people this might be true..In my experience, like with model homes, many people want to see the whole look...like a cake with icing and flowersr..it gives it a finished look. Thank you for taking the time to comment 😊
You are right!! I was so busy staging and everyone came out as a stager...I thought it was flooded, but I have had many requests...I am committed to doing more this summer!! Thank you for the nudge;)
I think you're off to a great start, but those rugs! For the dining room it was.too small and for the living room the placement seemed wrong. I'm sure you'll grow...
Tim Buggs thank you for taking the time to comment 😊 for design and living, you are right, but for staging everything is inconspicuously slightly undersized so the rooms look larger😊 5 yrs going strong..but always growing!
Yes, Jennifer, good point; but that's not the main reason...staging is different than design...If you cover up too much of the flooring, buyers may think we are hiding defects, cracks etc.. also it makes the room look much larger when the rug is smaller. these are 5x8' perfect for staging. I suspect Tim my be a designer, not a stager...but I appreciate All feedback:)
Did you see the end result in the video..no clock. I wanted to show how everything is trial and error until it looks amazing:)...even with stagers and designers!
Hi Morenita! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I appreciate all feedback. I understand what you are saying....This was a video to show the "real staging" things go in and out of homes so often, I wanted to show this trick to cover up many imperfections. When it gets too noticeable, we retire the furniture. When we are finished. No one notices:) Have a wonderful week :)
You are not really showing the entire room when it is finished. The camera cuts are too quick and you show the cushions and ornaments and furniture close up but not how it looks from a distance.
Looks lovely, but staging puts me off. I want to see how people live in their homes, that way I can see what I would change. I don't want to see a show home
Dee Ferry trust me when I say you really don’t want to see how people really live. I am a realtor and stage homes and bring my cleaning lady along too! Staging helps sell homes quickly and for top dollar.
I don't think it's a real big deal. This is just to show people in general how the house would looks with ordinary furniture. Now you might have real fancy furniture but I think most people have just plain furniture. Besides, they are selling the house, not the furniture.
Francesca Rubera I want to thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. We do all styles from contemporary to traditional to minimalist...our video at least helped you decide what is not for you. I wish you the best😊
