Ughhh! Best Buy--I hate that store and its employees. I haven't been there in years. The moment I'd walk in I'd be assaulted by THUMPING GHETTO MUSIC and would just want to turn around and leave. I'd lift up a camera to explore its buttons and features, and an ear-piercing alarm would sound. And if you ever return an item, you'll be raked over the coals. I once returned a TV because the screen was darker on one side than the other when viewing black and white movies. The teenage employee hooked up the TV, watched a program for a few seconds and declared, "Well, it looks good in color." I didn't reply to such a stupid comment and simply waited till he figured out I wasn't going anywhere till I got a refund.

Is there a 7.1 speakers-receiver system with bluetooth and the remote control which has 2.0, 2.1, 3.1, 5.1, and 7.1 buttons for witching to any sound channels at will to play movies or music for home?
@aegisofhonor
@aegisofhonor 11 лет назад
don't forget about Phono input, most AV receivers lack this and often you have to spend well over $1000 on a high end receiver such as Sony's ES series receivers to get a newer AV receiver that has a phono amplifier built in, but even if it doesn't have it, Pyle makes several pretty decent phono pre-amps that can plug in to your receiver, but doing this will often give you inferior sound then a high end AV receiver giving you a built in phono input but will save you A LOT of money.

Great video. Now we need updated version for receivers with HDR10, Dolby Vision, HDMI 2.2, A.R.C comparability and so on.

Hi, very nice video, very informative, I have a question, if you buy a 7.1 av Reciver, can you just use the 5.1 set up??
@jungleislandsurvivor
@jungleislandsurvivor 10 лет назад
Yes, for example you can install a 7.2 AVR and just use 5.1 speaker setup just fine, room to grow down the road if you wish.
@xprophetdk4103
@xprophetdk4103 10 лет назад
Yes! - You can use a 7.1 receiver for a 5.1 setup. You just have to adjust it in the setup of the receiver. - If you do not adjust it "down" to 5.1, some receiver will randomly turn-off because they "think" the 2 "missing" speakers are broken and will "protect" the remaining. I think it's a Pioneer issue only, which I think is not a bad function for a receiver to have though. Hope it makes sense. Peace and love to your all

Just pair your PS Vita via Bluetooth with receiver (some receivers have BT built in and some require you to have tiny adapter that is easily connects at the back of it) and have your music streamed without use of cables. Works great with my Pioneer vsx-1325 for over 2 years now.

I did try out my Vita with my friend's insane $800 dual-channel Sony speakers, the sound was amazing but I'm thinking portability is preferable. Now to decide whether to stick with my corded Sennheiser HD-280 Pro headset or go for Sony's Pulse Elite Edition wireless headset, with all those extras like BassImpact and virtual 7.1 surround sound... I'd complain about it being so hard to decide between devices and products all the time, but it's really half the fun of it. Thanks for the response. :>

Is there such thing as just an Audio Receiver? Something to connect 5.1 home theatre speakers to your computer?
@tudvalstone

You may find a good deal on a used one. My 12 year old Yamaha RX-V530 still works great and does that in a straightforward way, but all the new ones I see are loaded with features that many don't need.
@xprophetdk4103

Yes there is - A pure audio receiver is what I would call a stereo receiver. The primary function is to get the best sound only for music with no visuals. Depending of your needs and obsession there's a lot to choose from. - I'm not a nerd, so i'll stick to my AV Receiver at any time because it can fulfill all my needs for visual/audio, and for audio alone. Stereo Receiver: You could use a stereo receiver and connect your main speakers to it and your PC by component input - be sure the Stereo receiver can handle the speakers (ohm) and have input to all your speakers and sub(s). The stereo receiver do normally not have HDMI inputs/output for TV, blu-ray or other visual components, compared to the AV receiver. AV Receiver (AVR): AVR's combine the sounds with the visuals, which for optimal experience is not stereo but surround, which gives you the feeling of being in the middle of the visuals. Beside that - AVR's could functioning as a "central" for all your components (pc, consoles, etc.) If you have 5 speakers and 1 sub I'll suggest you to connect your PC to the AVR, which will handle the system for you. - Normally there's a Music function on the AVR's, which will give you a good output for music (if calibrated correctly and depending on the AVR). You can from some AVR's make a setup, so you have the opportunity to hear stereo music. When you then choose "Music mode" you will get pure stereo from special selected speakers, which will give you a experience close to the stereo receiver. As said - I'm not an audio nerd, so for me the AVR (low-end/middle-end/high-end) is perfect to use for music only too, which on my system gives me a great feeling and enjoyment. Music nerds would kick-me in the butt for saying that, but for me it's way over what I actually need compared to normal use of music from mobiles and similar. My system still kicks butt with a pure and great sound - even to parties. Be careful though - because very small satellite speakers, gives you only the high frequencies (which alone will sound bad) - so if you want some more depth in you music you must combine it with the subwoofer or have speakers with build in low and high frequency units. Peace and Love to all

Quick question. I bought a sony blu ray home entertainment system, a player and 6 speakers. The ends of the speaker wires have proprietary connectors to plug into the bluray player. If I have a sony a/v receiver, can I cut off the proprietary connectors to plug into the receiver or is that not possible?

Hey guys I need some help. My surround receiver outputs around 100watts at 6ohms, however, my speakers are 4ohms. I know my receiver will get warm as the speakers are a lower ohm than the recommended 6ohms of the receiver. But will the receiver still put out 100watts even though its running a 4ohm speaker. Or, would t to be better to wire the 2 speaker in parallel to get a 8ohm load, however i'll be massively under powering the speakers. Thanks

I`m really curious about these AV devices. I don`t get if my old 5.1 speakers will work with an AV receiver??? I have a new TV with all the new technology (HDMI and so on), so my old home theater cannot connect to it, because it doesnt have plugs for the new technology. Can I still use the speakers from the old home theater and connect them through the AV receiver to get sound from my speakers on my TV??!??! Please someone help, I`m so lost. THANKS

Lots of sexy Sony devices featured, those guys deserve my dollar vote so that's pretty much the setup I want within two or so years. Anyways, thanks for the video- very informative. I wonder what it'd take to be able to plug a standard headphone jack into my Playstation Vita from a home theater audio setup; I obviously don't expect surround sound out of it but it'd still be great to listen to Gravity Rush's orchestral music with a "proper" audio device. Could just keep using headphones, though.

@lemonslice2233

Not stupid. Playstations are loud, while my BluRay player is barely audible. It also supports more video and audio formats when it comes to rips, has better subtitle support, is easier to use and has a more comprehensive interface and settings. Last points are they use much less power in operation and you are not bombarded by notifications. Also mine does a much better job upscaling DVDs.
